I’ve been beaten, bullied, and isolated. And now I’m ready to right all wrongs.
The truth is out and secrets uncovered. I’m mad and hell-bent on getting payback.
I’ll make them hurt. Make them bleed. Make them wish they’d never messed with me or my boys.
But first, I have to let go of past hurts. Heal my broken heart and reunite my harem.
Because I won’t survive this next battle without the love of Edward, Blake, and Henry.
Payback is the final book of a four-part reverse harem, high school bully romance that contains cursing, violence, MM, dark themes, and sexual situations.
I squeezed my eyes shut and quickened my movements. Henry did the same, and flashes of pleasure lit up my nerve endings. They kept sparking and flaring until the deepest spasm rocked my core and squeezed Henry so hard, I worried it might hurt. “Ugh!” Henry’s upper body convulsed, and a low, deep moan filled my ears and reverberated in his chest. His erection thickened and trembled with tiny shudders. A second orgasm blazed through my body, making me clench and pulse around him in a series of never-ending tremors. As Henry softened, he drew back, green eyes bright. “Give me a minute,” he said between panting breaths. “I’m going to fuck you until my prick falls off.”
I was excited at honour of ARC this book for Sofia Daniels as I am update with the whole series which has exceeded my expectations. I had high hope for this book and it didn’t disappoint the storyline was amazingly written with flourish and creativity. An characters personalities have just grown in depth which just makes them seem more endearing and empathetic. To be truly honest this is a surprising and explosive ending to a incredible series
This series had me on the fence for a bit. Not so much the story line, but the writing. Lots of spelling and grammer issues and at one point they entered Blakes study instead of Edwards study. Luckily my mind auto corrects everything while reading and I could just enjoy the story.
One major plus point for me was we ended the series with the original three guys. So many of the RH books I read these days start out with three and then we end up with six or seven guys in the end. Not that I mind those, but I liked that this series stuck with three guys and you could get to know their personalities, families and some of their backgrounds.
I enjoyed the story as it read pretty fast. However it has lots and lots and lots of drama. Some of the drama was maybe not necessary. But another bonus offcourse is the HEA.
So overall I think things turned out for the best☺
PLEASE NOTE: This review is for the entire series (box set) and not just for one book of the four.
I am new to this author, but have seen each of these books around on Amazon in my recommends area. I LOVE bully romance, especially when you add the prep school dynamic, but reverse harem is something that has to be done very well for me to be on board with. Regardless of my reservations, I was eager to dive in. I can say that I finished it BUT I didn't get there without skimming A LOT. Did I hate it? Absolutely not.....but there were quite a few things that kept me from truly being all in. I will get into those, but first.....
Book Facts: This is a set that includes all 4 books from the Kings of Mercia Academy series. It is a bully reverse harem romance that takes place in a prep school/boarding school setting. The first 3 books do end with cliffys, with the final book ending with a HFN conclusion. It does include several sensitive subjects that may trigger certain readers (extreme bullying, male on female/male on male/group violence, sexual situations involving much older men & teen girls, mfmmm including mm action).
My issues: 1. It is too drawn out. I felt that it was overloaded with drama to keep the story going in order to create more books, instead of keeping with 2-3 major issues that were easily wrapped up and concentrating more effort on the relationship/romance aspect. 2. Reminded me a lot of Filthy Rich series by Stunich. Not entirely or enough to feel "copied", but there were some definite similarities. 3. Felt like certain things were done for shock value instead of being valuable pieces to the overall story being told. 4. It felt like so many pieces weren't tied up by the ending bc too many pieces were at play for no reason. Almost like the author forgot everything she put out there to know what needed to be wrapped up. 5. It is reverse harem but without the emotional connection to make it "worth it". 6. There were a few major drama points and bad guys that stayed front & center throughout the series..... these were plot drivers, yet they were wrapped up way too fast and too easily.
What kept me reading: 1. The fact that I was able to skim a lot (mainly in book 1-3) yet still be able to keep up with the story. 2. I really loved Henry & Blake. Their relationship was more important (to me) than the 4 of them were. 3. There were quite a few hot hot hot moments. 4. The writing itself wasn't bad. 5. There were some moments that definitely fed my drama llama.
Overall, I can honestly say I enjoyed this story. It may not have been one that I emotionally connected to or one that will go down as a fav, but there were quite a few moments while reading that I was in complete devour mode..... needing to know what was happening next. As much as it reminded me at times of Stunich's series, this has one thing over it.....I at least finished this one.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If I never hear the word ‘Trollop’ again I’ll be more than happy. The overuse of this word ground me down and left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. We needed some variation of slurs damnit!
At some point I stopped caring for Emilia, she just wasn’t an interesting heroine. Her personality was lacking and she had no interests outside of her harem. There wasn’t anything particularly appealing about her other than her being an American in the land of Brits.
Truthfully I’m not impressed by this ending. I felt deflated with how it all panned out. It felt rushed. The story could’ve and probably should’ve been wrapped up in book 3.
The books are laden with pedophilia, sexual assault, excessive underage drinking, irresponsible and uncaring adults and underage girls who get plastic surgery. None of these factors (which I assume are intended for shock value) create more intrigue in the story. I feel like the author has forced the dark themes to comply with the bullymance book formula that are a popular trope at the moment. It wasn’t particularly executed well after the first instalment.
The characters nor the plot are particularly memorable.
In terms of my rating: One star is for the decent writing and the second star is because I was interested enough to read the series to the end based on the previous instalments.
After that amazing ending in the last book Emilia (the MFC) has finally found out who is orchestrating all of the problems her and her guys - Edward, Henry and Blake have been having. This book bring all of the unanswered questions to a great conclusion. Enemies get whats coming to them and there is a happy ending. Which im happy about and loved massively. Its an amazing ending to what has been a great series that im sad to see end. Absolutely brilliant
The conclusion to this Mercia series. I enjoyed the conclusion and Sofia left it at a point where she could continue their story at a later point of she felt so inclined.
Filled with suspense and drama. One question though...what happened to Rudolph's minions? I'm talking about Jackie and the news team, as well as Rudolph's assistant when Emilia first came on the scene. Good read.
I am not a fan of this author's writing. The storyline and plot are poorly written. There are many holes in the story and a lot of unanswered questions. It is an RH with one girl and three boys, Emilia, Blake, Edward, and Henry. A lot is going on throughout the entire series. The story builds slowly; the first book is written very childishly, and it is tedious; I skimmed through the whole series. The script is straightforward, with an ongoing building of a quad relationship fantasy for the main characters. The boys have fantasized about a quad relationship since their early teens age. The sex is not that great written. The story contains a series of silly reasons why the bully started, one of which is to keep distance from Emilia. Emilia’s stepfather enrolls her in a British boarding school as a retort to Emilia’s mother. I do not understand the author. The author pens Emilia as an intelligent, mischievous character seeking revenge. When she asks her mother about Rudulph's secret, the mother says that he has syphilis. Emilia does not use the information when she learns about Rudulph’s infidelity. At the end of the series, it is discovered the spread of syphilis among the students. The character is in their teens, and they make a lot of mistakes. Some of the pranks are an exaggeration. The characters do not grow or mature. The only reason I read the series is because I was hoping it would get better, and for curiosity.
The story line dragged and it another sign that an editor or author wanted to try and make the book last for the duration of the complete time in school. This failed at that the story dragged where it didn’t really need to and the reasons for her coming back in book 3 where reaching at best there could have been so much content with the spicey scenes, however it faltered with other reverse harems taking the lead there is now I feel a standard and this felt like Virgin Mary standards nothing was explored.
The corruption of Rudolph was a good element and his demise was fair and the mom became a strong character who I feel should have gotten a lot more story time especially with her own adventures now.
The way they got their revenge on the actual mastermind was so anti-climactic and rushed... when i saw that it was already at like 80ish percent and no actual plot happened, i thought to the point that i hoped there was gonna be a fifth book... but no, it was really quick and unsatisfying. I really wanted more suffering he actually deserves.
I also would have liked an update regarding Jackie plus the actual sunday correspondence considering the aftermath of everything. I was disappointed when i saw it was the end 😶
Anyway, the relationship development among our main characters was actually good
OMG Iloved this book. Although the bullying was bad and everything, I liked that it wasn't all sex but like real drama. And the ending with that suspense was BOMB!!!!! Who would have thought I will like a book that invilves a foursome.
This book had been great!!! Them disgracing Charlotte, what happened with her mom, Henry's dad, Blake's changing Charlotte at the end was great. I LOVED THIS BOOK AND HER MOTHER'S PLAN AT THE ENG OMFG.

I know how bad my “headline” is, but truthfully, this wasn’t a very good series. The plot was tighter in this one than it was in the last, but it was still lacking.
The nail in the proverbial coffin, for me, was when she changed the last name of the main character in the epilogue.
I wouldn’t waste my time reading this series. I’ve read other stuff by the author and it was so much better.
The series is a slow burn. The 3rd and 4th books really pick up in steam. However, the story itself is unexpected and thrilling. I also liked the FMC didn't just easily forgive her boys. The author also did a great job revealing why Emelia was forced to stay at school. There weren't any lingering frustrations about how easily she could escape her situation. I really liked that.
I’ll be honest, I’m glad this series is over. I feel it shouldn’t have been dragged into four books. Glad Rudy got his in the end and Charolette too. Most likely won’t read another book from this author.
I actually liked the story here. A lot. But I don't know that this type of harem will never be my preference. That doesn't typically matter to Mr, but I did find myself skimming a lot to get through some parts.
