I really enjoyed Roxy and Jax's story. Especially since it's set in my hometown of New Orleans. The authors did an amazing job of portraying the city and the characters were relatable and likeable.

Jax and Roxy fell for each other in high school but his parents move them to London to keep them apart. Roxy is doing her best to survive while going to school and a parent to her 4-year-old daughter. Jax sees her at a club and he gets the club to set them up together. What will happen when the truth is revealed? Fast-paced read with loads of drama and lots of twists and turn. I liked it.

I need to mention that Roxy is a waitress, bartender, and a hostess plus going to college while being a parent to a 4 year old girl but her night time job is an escort... but she don’t deal with guys that require added benefits, basically she date creepy old men that some have dementia, and he spend 2 hours a date with them restaurant and chatting. She needs all these jobs to pay bills, schooling- hers and her daughter, and her daughter’s everyday needs. .
The timeline does skip around and there is no space or *** to know it’s a different time in chapters, like from one sentence to the next it could be hours later, days or week later. I don’t know but my copy had numerous words that were sepa - rated like this any it was annoying to have a break in between words. Drama and anguish that was brought on with the m.c. Mothers to cause all the pain when these people were 18, treating their adult children like toddlers, that’s was unforgivable. Also the misunderstanding that Jax heard from Roxy when she was on the phone with her ‘pimp’, will cause lots of pain for Jax and the way he treats her without letting her get her facts out, is awful and what he pulls after that night......

Hooked is the third book in The Billionaire's Secret Club series by C.C. Piper and it tells the story of Roxy and Jaxson. They had been childhood sweethearts and everyone thought they would get married, have babies and grow old together. But that is not quite how it happened. Instead as soon as they graduated high school Jaxon's father shipped him over to London to work at the on of the offices of family business. Roxy stayed and even though they said they would not let the distance separate them it did when he did not return her phone calls and letters and she did not return his. What neither knew at the time was that his rich parents did not want the "wrong type" of girl to marry their son so they paid her mother to ensure Roxy did not receive any communication from Jaxson.
It is now four years later and Jaxson has come back home because his father has died. When he sees Roxy again. at the club, all of the old feelings for both of them come bubbling up. But with them are other feelings of betrayal and hurt. Jaxson decides to use "the wishmaker" to arrange a meeting with Roxy so he can get answers as to why she stopped contacting him. But Roxy also has a secret as Jaxson left something behind when he went to London. Secrets are going to come out and when they do everything will be revealed. But will it mean that Roxy and Jaxson can have the once in a lifetime love again or will they forever be separated?
While this story was quite different from the first two in the series. It was not as dark nor did it have a real BDSM vibe to it. Additionally, and I am going to get a bit picky here, there are a number of very implausible things that happen which you really have to suspend all disbelief or the ability to reason in order to believe. I am disappointed by this as I liked the first two books so I was excited to read this one. But it left me somewhat flat as it was quite predictable also. So for me it was an okay read but nothing spectacular.

The Wishmaker is back!
Roxy and Jaxson were childhood sweethearts. They had that kind of love that seemed would last forever, but when he unexpectedly moved to England things fell apart between them.
Fast forward 4 years and Jaxson returns home. When he runs into Roxy at a club, he changes his previous request to the Wishmaker to a meeting with Roxy. He wants answers to why she just stopped staying in contact and let their love go.
Roxy has been busting her bum working 3 jobs, putting herself thru nursing school, and raising her daughter. When she runs into Jaxson as she was leaving her world implodes. She wants to know why he is back after so much time, why he never tried to contact her.
But when truths are revealed, believe me there is a ton, will their past love be able to be rekindled or will it stay it cold?
I enjoyed this story by CC Piper, but it definitely wasn’t dark. It had a little bit of Dom/sub context, but that is it. It flowed smoothly and I loved how genuine and strong both characters were. Roxy definitely isn’t a pushover. I look forward to see if CC will add another book series.

What could be worse than being forced apart, to live separately, when you love someone so much? To learn not only that your parents and theirs helped make it a reality, but to learn you had a child that had been kept from you because of the forced separation.
Jax never got over Roxy. Even though they had been high school sweethearts, that love only grew.
Roxy never forgot or moved on from Jax. Love for him only became love for their daughter.
Through accident they meet again years later. Both afraid, both uncertain of the other, Roxy tells and introduces Jax to their daughter. While things seem to evolve, and for Jax they do, Roxy continues to hesitate. That hesitation hurts them both, with the issues arising that lead to both believing they will have to continue with out each other.
When the situation is finally explained, and with Jax's eyes opened, he sets out to give himself, Roxy and their daughter a happily ever after. One of the sweetest HEAs it is too!

Roxy is a single mom with plenty of responsibilities and struggles to keep her life going in the direction that gives her a future. After bumping into the child’s father five years after he abruptly left her life, new struggles abound, and life gets complicated.
What did I like? I’m a sucker for a second chance romance, they get me every time. Jax and Roxy not only had a history but a four year old, and a world of hurt to fix. Read in one sitting, and an enjoyable read.
Would I buy/recommend? Absolutely.... second chance book lovers just go ahead and one click. My first by this author but I’d read again.
Thoughts for the author? Great stand alone book, Roxy and Jax were a great HEA! Enjoyed it!

This was to die for. I’m partial to books that have a child involved. Call me criminal but I LOVE that trope personally. Maybe because seeing a man being so doting to a child is my kryptonite but I digress.
Roxy is super mom. She will do absolutely everything in her power to make her little girl Callie happy and safe. Even if that means that she has to sacrifice being happy herself, and I find that most admirable of her.
Jax is just perfect. His attitude at the beginning STUNK ASS but it was somewhat warranted. I mean if I was Roxy I would’ve socked him but that’s just me. He was confused and terrified and that was justified, yet he made up for it by showing that he really wants to be there for his little girl.
The plot twist…didn’t see that coming unlike the other two books previous to this one, where their plots were somehow predictable, this one was not!
Highly recommend!! 🩷

Wow!!! This book was amazing and my first by this author. Roxanne and Jaxson are two people that have been through a lot. Roxanne is hostess, bartender, works as an escort just to make ends meet for herself and her daughter Callie and she is also going to nursing school. Jaxson who is a CEO in the family business is somewhat entiled and has things handed to him. Roxanne and Jaxson are high school sweethearts that would leave notes for each other. These two find there way back to each other but like any couple they have there ups and downs and finally learn the through about why they were never able to reach each other. I love a second chance romance book and this one gave me all of the feels.

Hooked is a second chance romance between Roxy and Jax who were once in a relationship during high school, but after graduation he was sent to his family’s business London office. They agreed to continue to correspond with each other, but neither received any mail or phone calls. When they meet again fouryears later they are still upset over the lack of communication between each other as planned but they are still attracted to each other. But before any relationship can be considered Roxy has a secret she must share. I recommend this novel which has great characters and an interesting plot with secrets, strong emotions, misunderstandings, and steamy attraction with light BDSM.

I’ll start with wow, just wow. This is an amazing book about second chances. Roxy and Jax were high school sweethearts with parents working against their happiness. Fast forward a few years were both are heartbroken and it’s time for these two to meet again. We get to follow their reconnection through ups and downs. Can these two mend their broken hearts and find a happily ever after together?
This is a great story with really good characters that are easy to relate to. I definitely want to read more books from C.C. Piper!

Once young loves, planning a future, and a better life for themselves, they are ripped apart, and left heartbroken over the other. Many years later they are back in the same town, and those old feelings aren't forgotten, but they when secrets are uncovered, can they find love again, or will they loss, and betrayal be too much? This was a great read, emotional, intense, dramatic, and entertaining! 3.5 Stars

There are a couple of errors but nothing to get irritated about
The writing style made it a bit difficult to form a connection with the characters, I don't know if that's because of two authors or not, but it felt stilted and stereotypical as well as forced at some parts.
The plotline is good, star crossed lovers cheated by parents being given a second chance with a few twists to form plot devices.
There is a little swearing and a couple of sex scenes of a light D/s nature.
Would like recommend the book? Yes, but don't expect too much.

I thought it was a good story line and was entertained throughout the whole book. I really liked the characters, especially roxy, how she was willing to do whatever it took to take care of her daughter. Jax was a great male main character, he seemed like a bossy billionaire who was used to being obeyed. While it says Dark Billionaire romance, I thought the sex scenes were limited though steamy and though it supposed to be BDSM it seemed rather tame. still i enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.

This is book three in The Billionaire's Secret Club series. This is a second chance story where Jaxon and Roxy were high school sweet hearts.and more. There is so much that unfolds in this story, it had me captivated and turning the pages to devour each and every word. Two very different worlds, parents who never really cared or bothered to raise them but yet united to tear them apart. Just wow, a must read. Enjoy!

The dinamic of the couple it is not well defined and what Tara knows from the lifestyle is from her readings.

This book was my first books to read by this author and definitely won't be my last. Once I picked it up I had a hard time putting the book down. It was romantic, amazing, wonderful and a mix of dark tossed in there and made it awesome. The whole series is great and I look forward to reading more by this author.

The lengths people go to sometimes to intervene with their kids. Jax and Roxy's parents are manipulative and had me screaming at them the whole time I was reading. I am glad Jax and Roxy worked things out and were able to get past the hurt.

Jax and Roxy seemed doomed from the beginning with them coming from different sides of the tracks and their families not in favor of their relationship. Fate would bring them back together even though there are many near misses and hairpin turns as their relationship is rekindled. This was a sweet story.

This was a wonderful story about Roxanne, who works two jobs while going to school and being a mother since she was 19 and Jaxson. A beautiful second chance romance, my first read from this author or should I say authors :) 4 stars.
