An irresistible obsession…

Alex is a mystery: Secretive. Rich. Way too hot for his own good.

I’m an artist just trying to make it as a potter, and why he wants me, I don’t know.

I’m starting over in this beautiful beach town, and saying “yes” to him is part of the adventure. Until yes becomes something more.

My new artist friends are quirky and cool. My teacher is alarmingly obnoxious. I’m working hard to get into the big juried exhibition. And I keep losing myself in Alex’s arms.

He’s insatiable. I’m addicted. But under his quietly forceful exterior is a man wounded to his core.

Can obsession turn into love? And can passion overcome the past?

Or is Alex the worst best thing that ever happened to me?

Bohemia Beach is a sizzling hot romance featuring an aspiring clay artist, a mysteriously wealthy/seductive/secretly sweet writer, and a colorful beach town brimming with passion, drama and humor. This is the first novel in the Bohemia Beach Series, each a steamy standalone romance set among a circle of artists in the enchanting Florida city they call home.

I tried this book because I love Lucy's Bohemia Bartender's Mysteries series. While Lucy's talents as a writer are just as strong in this book, I didn't enjoy the story as much. Sloan is an artist and Alex is a rich man. They immediately fall into lust. I didn't relate to either character or their lifestyles. The book is well-written and readable and I'm sure there are other readers who enjoy sexual stories about falling in love.

I've said that romance isn't my preferred genre, and this is true. However, it does not mean I haven't read romance. I've read probably over a thousand romances. When I was growing up, all we did was read. I would run out of books, and pick up my mom's... which were all romances. So, like the opera, even though it isn't a preferred genre, I've grown to appreciate a good romance over the years.

This is an OK romance. It hits all the beats, and it's written well. The writer is actually quite gifted, and I can tell she really loves ceramics. And blowjobs. But then, who doesn't like a good blowjob?

The story is pretty much as it is in the summary, Sloane moves to Bohemia Beach to go to an art school, and meets reluctant rich man blocked writer Alex. He's handsome, rich, charming, witty, and... maybe a serial killer? I don't know... it just seems to me that every psychological thriller book starts out exactly the same as a romance novel. I might be reading too many horror books lately.

At any rate, Sloane is smitten! She and Alex begin a whirlwind affair... and that's pretty much it. There's no obstacles to the relationship which aren't solved quickly, misunderstandings are talked about more or less swiftly, and there's where my adoration of the book runs out. It's all too... pleasant? There is a part where I thought there might have been a love triangle... but no. There was a part where Sloane was put into danger... but she was first "saved", and then saved herself. It just... it was a pleasant, light read. This isn't bad! It's just lacking that little extra something that would make the book stand out.

The sex was decent, and there was a lot of it. I was actually rather envious at how often there was sex. At one point Sloane asks if Alex is going to have sex with her on every piece of furniture he owns, and his reply? "I hope so, I have a lot of furniture." If only my husband and I could go at that pace!

It was a solid, light read with some fun sexy times. Nothing heavy, nothing surprising, but nothing that made it stand out either. I give it a respectable seven Deep One ceramics out of ten.

I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was rather ambivalent about this one for most of the book. It is well-written and the author was descriptive enough that I had no trouble picturing locations and scenes. The biggest problem for me was the characters. I never really got caught up in their story. Both characters run hot and cold. Alex has issues from his past and disappears from Sloane's life at times with no contact. Sloane doesn't seem to know what she wants for most of the book. She thinks they need some space and time apart, then when he doesn't contact her, she's looking for him. She's mad because of the no contact but falls all over him when they see each other. Their relationship seemed more about sex than anything else. I never felt much of anything other than lust bordering on obsession between these two. From the blurb, I expected a bit of suspense and maybe a bit of actual trouble, but Sloane's "devious foe" wasn't devious, he was pompous and pathetic, issues were resolved quickly, and they had sex A LOT. Overall, it's a well-written book about two people in lust.

Basically a lesser version of 50 Shades. If you like smutty books, you’ll love this one.

I received this Arc in return for an honest voluntary review.
This story takes place in the artsy community of Bohemia Beach.
Sloane has come to this beach to learn more about ceramics and herself.
Alex was born her and he is a patron of the arts.
Sloane and Alex meet at his party and they feel a connection. Both character have to get out of their own heads and be open to what they are experiencing and what they are feeling. Sloane has always been the odd man out at her home. Alex had tragedy in his life and was bullied at school. neither likes social situations.
This story is a little quirky. This is a love or at least lust at first sight story but the characters need to grow throughout the story in order to make their relationship survive.
The soy has romance, steamy scenes and some self reflection.
I look forward to Bohemia Light.

This book is a good read to sit by the side of the pool or beach. There are plenty of steamy sex scenes within the book so if you enjoy that, it's a plus. The main characters in the book I though were good but what I would've like to happen was to go into a little more depth about them. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Not for me

This is a readable book. My problem with this book is the hero's behavior. His behavior towards the heroine is stalkerish and controling. This isn't taking care of, but control of the heroine and this behavior creepy. Having worked with women who have been in abusive relationships, I just couldn't get past this.

I love beach reads, especially small town beach reads. This story offers a great cast of characters that you want to become friends with, plus steamy hotness that adds to the emotional conflict. Feelings aren't always easy to express for these characters, so the lovemaking becomes a channel for communication. If you like hot reads, curl up with this book.

Oh-so-sexy, engaging, and fresh!

I received an Advance Reader Copy for Bohemia Beach and voluntarily reviewed this book. I was really drawn in by this story and its characters as well as the beachy-artsy setting.

We have a loner, Alex, who has unresolved psychological/flashback issues relating to his high school days involving a traumatic attack as well as trust issues. He has a huge heart and is so very lonely until he meets Sloane, a newly transplanted Bohemia Beach student resident, who entices him and draws him out of his hermit shell and integrates him into the society he should have felt comfortable functioning in, but was isolated from.

With her love and patience, Sloane was his life preserver, but with her support, he became the man she wanted and needed in her life. Especially when things started to become "sticky" with others at the school.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was oh-so-sexy, engaging and fresh! This is a new author to me, and I really look forward to reading the other installments in her Bohemia Beach series!

Sloane is intrigued by Alex, and he is equally taken with her. I like Ms. Lakestone's writing style - she uses dialogue to help develop each scene and helps us feel what the characters are feeling. I loved the steaminess and the intrigue - Alex with his secret and Sloane dealing with someone who may be more foe than friend. I enjoyed this book very much. This is a very well written story of two people, Sloane and Alex, who are both trying to find their way in life.

She is an aspiring potter, and he is a mysterious wealthy man.
Sloane has suffered from a distinct lack of familial support but Alex has real trauma in his past.

Both are likeable characters and it is a joy to see their growing intimacy and relationship, although it is not always easy for either of them. They come up against obstacles and it is how they deal with them that brings tension to the plot.

The setting is the east coast of Florida and the descriptions are so good you can picture the scene.

Bohemia Beach, the first book in the series, by Lucy Lakestone is a steamy read. Writing is done in a style that is engaging to the reader and flows well with the character development. I would have liked to seen a bit more meat to the story, but what the author provided was well rounded and an easy read.

AWESOME STEAMY READ!!!

As a Central Floridian, I was amazed at the picturesque settings depicted in “Bohemia Beach”! Lucy Lakestone’s descriptions of Florida’s East Coast are on target and simply fantastic. “Bohemia Beach” is incredibly well written and the characterizations unique as well as interesting. I found the main characters extremely likeable and the story fast paced. The plot development and execution was flawless. The intimacy between the main characters was tasteful as well as erotic. If you are searching for a heartwarming love story with plenty of heat, look no further than “Bohemia Beach”!

It´s a nice book, but the story didn´t get to me. Almost all the secrets are told at the beginning an there´s less thrill to hold me. Nevertheless it´s easy to keep up with Alex and the dealing with his past to make a future.

Unfortunately this book did not excite me... well, not as much as the H & H. They jumped straight into bed within 24hrs and again, and again. I had to bail on this one as it is just not my type of book. I need more character development and a stronger story line. If you like steamy sex, and lots of it, this book may be for you....I was given an ARC and have volunteered an honest review.

Sweet Autumn Romance

I randomly received this book as a freebie, and finally got around the reading it. I could kick myself for not reading sooner. Abbey is an art student who meets Alex at a party he hosts. Their attraction is immediate. As they grow closer, Abbey learns of Alex's dark past and helps him move past his insecurities.

What I like about Abbey is how she wants this time to find herself and know she can make it on her own. I can relate to her in that aspect. Alex is generous, passionate and puts Abbey's best interests first.

Now, I will say there is a lot of steamy scenes, and if that's not your cup of tea, you might not like Bohemia Beach. I loved every one of them.

This was a sweet surprise, and I can't wait to read more from Lucy Lakestone.

Sloane, a potter student is new to Bohemia Beach though she does have relatives that were introduced in other books in this series. She meets a rich and sexy writer Alex at a party he is giving for the art community. It is instant chemistry and the pages heat up as these two make their love connection. The story has a few ups and downs but for the most part is a low drama feel good book.

Lucy Lakestone creates the story in such a way that you feel you are there.

Hot Florida Beach Romance

I liked the storyline but I struggled with the pace of the story. I felt like a fish swimming upstream. For those who like a lot of sex in their reading then this might be right up your alley. For me it was way too much. More sex than story.

I know I've read something else by this author and really enjoyed it. So I will be reading more by this author.

I've read Lakestone's bartender mysteries before coming to this series. Used to the extremely slow burn relationship in those, I was surprised by the quick development of the sexual relationship here. Once I changed my expectations, I thoroughly enjoyed this erotic romance. Set in the same region of Florida, these books came first and I was excited with a glimpse of the Junction Box bar.

I loved Sloane & Alex’s story! Sloane was a young girl from Ohio going to class at Art school. She is a potter and also,,works there. Alex is a very rich writer who was born & raised in Bohemian Beach, Florida. They meet and she is close to him and then realizes he has trouble socializing in. You meet her cousins,Gary and Mr. Mountrose. I definitely would recommend this book!
