A short fast read. Somewhat lighthearted but also with sharp edges.
Every day at 12 Skyler walks in for a drink and some nachos, for Dustin, the bartender, a little redhead, this is the highlight of his evening. For two years his heart belongs to Skyler... and the man doesn’t even know. Skyler has a heavy heart and has problems to move on. He noticed Dustin but just can’t.
When Dustin his car breaks down he ends up at Skyler’s door.
It was a funny, positive story with emotional personalities in it. It goes with a fast pace like from nothing to everything, it gives a lovely view on diverse little details which you simple could overlook. I’m looking for a word to describe this all... I felt like a manga or maybe more like a fairytale... and as you know even in fairytales not everything goes smoothly.
Having read the Magnolia series, it was great seeing Travis and Levi again. Dustin and Skyler are in that series a bit so was really great to see how they met. I am sure there will be some parallel stories in the two series but at the same time it will be nice to get some background on Dustin and Skyler.
I read this story again, after reading tha Stories from Magnolia Ridge series. This a beautiful story of the blossoming love two Appalachian cowboys. The wonderful ending left me in happy tears. Also, this story was well blended into the Magnolia series.
This is a very simple tale, with an age gap relationship which made me uncomfortable by the constant reference to one of the MCs as a “boy.” (Both MCs are adults) The tragedy in the story is off screen and in the past. The relationship is the basic “instant love” type with easy meet and instant relationship. It has a positive ending, which was expected since that’s the tenor of the tale.
