Hi, I'm Elizabeth Amber, author of The Lords of Satyr series of hot historical paranormal romance novels: Nicholas, Raine, Lyon, Dominic, Dane, Bastian, and Sevin (2012). I'm a museum junkie and love history and archeology. When I was an art history major at university many years ago, I became fascinated with Greco-Roman artifacts. I’ve visited many archeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece. All those ancient urns, frescoes, and amphorae decorated with lusty satyrs, maenads, and Bacchus (or Dionysus) celebrating the annual grape harvest inspired The Lords of Satyr novels.

I didn't really want to read this book, but I'd already bought it and didn't really feel like wasting $15 so I read it. It contains two Satyr novellas...the first one was rather blah for me; the second was better but felt rather incomplete. I wasn't impressed with either one.

Summary:
In the first novella, Dominic, Emma (sister of Jane from Nicholas) is married to a part Satyr named Carlo, but is disillusioned with her marriage. Carlo spends most of his time in the ElseWorld, fighting the war there, and on the last Calling night, he treated her horribly, leaving her with child. Now the next Calling is here, the one that will result in the birth of their child. But in order for the birth to occur, she must mate with Carlo again. Only Carlo was severely injured in the war and can no longer perform. So he brings he new friend Dominic to be his surrogate. Emma is horrified, but has no choice. What she doesn't understand is that Dominic has an ulterior motive. There's a lot going on that Emma doesn't understand.

Review:
Honestly, I didn't like this story at all. The whole first part of the book is rather non-consensual with Emma being forced and coerced and treated poorly. It doesn't quite make it to outright rape, but it was damn close. And it was a total turn off. I'm not sure how I was supposedly to like a story that started out like that.

Even after that, there's no build up of the romance between Emma and Dominic. They don't get to know each other at all. They hardly spend any time together. The whole "romance" is based on one night and longing from a distance. And to me, that made the romance more than flat. I didn't really feel like these two characters were in love with each other.

One other thing I didn't like was the expanded paranormal element of the story. The series as a whole has a strong paranormal aspect with the whole Satyr and faerie thing, but this novella added demons, the demonhand, and all kinds of other stuff. I'm not really into PNR and all that stuff just sorta made my mind switch off.

So yeah, can't say I liked this one much.

Rating: 2 / 5

Summary:
The second novella, Vincent, features the son of Nicholas and Jane (from Nicholas). Vincent is involved in peacekeeping measures in the ElseWorld, trying to get a treaty signed to stop the wars. But in her personal life, he's become obsessed with a Shimmerskin - a mystical being created to service Satyr men during the Calling nights. He conjures the same Shimmerskin time after time...then one night, she doesn't disappear. She's become human. For Vincent, it's a dream come true, until he realizes there's a nefarious plan in the works.

Review:
I liked this story to a certain degree. I thought the concept was interesting. Since the start of the series, you've heard about Shimmerskins and what they do. So to then have a Satyr become obsessed with one and have her become human was a good story concept. The execution of the story was okay...to a certain extent.

I loved the way Amber wrote the Shimmerskin character, Cara. She was amusing and interesting. And Vincent was a good a good character as well. I liked the romance and attraction between the two.

But this story fell apart in how incomplete it felt. The relationship in this book is actually a M/F/M menage HEA involving Vincent's friend Landon. Yet you learn hardly anything about Landon. He's kinda quiet and withdrawn, and there's talk that something changed him during the war. But you don't learn what it is....probably because he has no POV in the story at all. He's just sort of there and just sort of added into the Vincent/Cara relationship. That came off rather bizarre to me. How can you main character in a relationship have no POV at all and give him so little attention? It made the relationship feel half-assed.

***SPOILER BELOW!!!!***

And secondly, in the end, the bad guy turns out to be one of Vincent's brother's who became the disciple of a demon and then had his body taken over by the demon. But the whole damn thing is treated so casually it's ridiculous! The Satyr's are a close family and there's no reaction by anyone about what happened to brother, about the betrayal, the loss, etc. I'm not even sure what happened to him...it seemed like he died, but I'm not sure. Either way, there really really needed to be scenes, thought, etc of the family dealing with what happened. But there was absolutely nothing at all. It was like it never happened. That totally killed this story for me. I can't buy into a story that neglects something so major.

Rating: 2 / 5

In the end, I didn't really find this book worth reading. The uniqueness and originalness of the series had already worn off for me, but I had already bought this book so I read it anyway. I don't plan to buy any of the new ones coming out, though. The series just doesn't interest me that much.

WARNING, this book contains: explicit sex and language, Satyr men who sprout a second penis during the full moon, anal sex, double penetration, m/f/m sex, semi-nonconsensual sex...and don't ask about that thing with Itala because that was freakin' weird! Okay, the whole series is sexually bizarre...

Dominic by Elizabeth Amber
Paranormal Erotic Romance- February 24, 2009
4 ½ stars

Elizabeth Amber continues her daring Lord of the Satyr series in the latest installment of Dominic, a 2 story anthology that smolders with scenes that will shock and delight your senses!

In the first story, Dominic is a Satyr hardened by duty. He is a special hunter and killer of demons, called upon to perform tasks no other Satyr can. Dominic is spurned by his fellow Satyrs even as his skills protect their way of life. But his next mission is the most important of all, to mate with a human female named Emma and create a child of destiny. While Dominic is sent to seduce her, he cannot help but be seduced by her. The trouble is Emma is already married to another Satyr!

Elizabeth Amber's inspired introduction of new storylines and characters was particularly fascinating. She adds plot twists that add tension as well as revealing tantalizing glimpses of the mysterious Facilitator and Acolytes of ElseWorld where the Satyrs originate. For those who loved her previous books, familiar characters also return! (Yes!) Dominic’s story was a thoroughly enjoyable and immersing story. However, I felt it could be difficult to follow if you haven't read at least one of the earlier Satyr books in the series.

This next story is set many years later. It features Nicholas's sons. All of which are pure masculinity! Vincent is Nicholas’s oldest son and obsessed with a Shimmerskin. Shimmerskins are magical females conjured for the enjoyment of the insatiable sexual appetites of the Satyr men, that then disappear the next day. One night Vincent impulsively asks ‘his’ Shimmerskin to stay, knowing it is impossible. To his surprise, he finds her in his bed the next morning! Can she be real?

Cara suddenly finds herself in bed with an attractive man. She is terrified. She knows nothing of her past and struggles to make sense of her situation. Why has she so conveniently come to life and why does she ‘disappear’ for short periods?

This story reads like a mystery, it has a lot of suspense as you wonder about Cara. The end was very surprising. The only thing I felt missing were details about the Shimmerskins I found them intriguing and would have loved to have Cara and her history more fully developed. This author excels at leaving glimpses of captivating characters that leave you wanting more details!

Dominic was an exciting read. For those who love the paranormal and hot scenes this will be a delicious treat. Elizabeth Amber really heats up the pages and shapes her Satyr World in this next defining installment. A word of caution, this author really pushes the boundaries not only in her amazing creative imagination but also in her sex scenes! (There are short M/M scenes as well M/F/M scenes.)

I am particularly interested in finding out more about ElseWorld and can't wait for the next installment which I hope includes Vincent's brothers!!

This book contains two stories, the longer is DOMINIC, and the shorter is VINCENT. Vincent is the first born son of the Fae-Satyr unions, the one whose conception and birth we witnessed in NICHOLAS. Dominic is a new character, but the heroine in Dom's story is Emma, Jane's younger sister from the first book.

I could have handled an entire book devoted to Dominic alone. He's an incredible alpha-male anti-hero, and so completely opposite Emma in all the right ways. Had Amber devoted the entire book to Dominic alone, I feel that we could have seen their relationship become so much more... it had tons of potential, so it was disappointing that it ended so quickly, but overall, I still enjoyed it.

The second, much shorter story is VINCENT, and it's quite unique... Vincent has grown up to be just as hot and powerful as his father, and the love triangle in the story is fascinating and delicious. I would have also enjoyed reading an entire book devoted LANDON - the secondary male in Vincent's story!

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I feel that DOMINIC could have been the fourth book in the series, and VINCENT the fifth... both stories did suffer a bit from feeling rushed. Still, I liked this a bit more than LYON, because even with the rushed feeling of the stories, these glorious alpha-males weren't "held back" the way in which I felt Lyon's character was.

My Rating is actually 3 1/2 stars!

However I did enjoy the story. It was set 15 years in the future from the previous installments. This features Emma, Jane's human half sister. I felt as if Emma's character wasn't written as she was in the other books. Before she was courageous, she had ran away to her sisters house when she was 12. That took a lot of guts, also putting up with all the supernatural things going around her home while she was only human. So I was taken aback by the fact that as an adult she was meek and married into a marriage that was distant yet abusive. A few actions of hers were as her old self, such as taking precautions against conception and planning to run away yet again. So it's a mix. I just didn't like seeing her as weak!

I loved Dominic, wonderful character.

The second part of the book was Vincent, Jane & Nicholas' first born son. Cara was an interesting character as well. I laughed at the communication barrier between her and everyone else. I wish that Dominic's portion would have been a full book and then Vincent's section turned into a full book. There was a loss of a great story with it being shortened. Especially Vincent's part. Cara's character could have been expanded and explored properly. Also Landon as a side character should have been made into his own book. He most likely had a lot of backstory that could have been written. Overall it was a disappointment that 3 strong characters were reduced to play bit parts in a short book.

Out of all the books in the series Nicholas book 1 in the Lords of Satyr series is still my favorite. It was well developed, written in a way that you truly knew the characters. The chemistry between Nicholas and Jane was comical yet smoldering. Nicholas teaching Jane how to please him was hysterical yet so sexist you wanted to punch something. But that is the pleasure of a historical paranormal romance. Jane was so innocent yet enthusiastic to learn that which was passe for the time period lent an unexpected treat to the book. The storyline was the best of the series. & the sex actually had a purpose or a reason rather. The scene where he pretends to be different ppl had me laughing instead of the authors desired effect, which made me love it more. However the last scene where the brothers each had a turn with Jane jumped the shark. It didn't feel as if it was in the storyline. I am happy with as much debauchery as possible, but this didn't fit. I guess that's how I see the rest of the series, like most of it just didn't fit!

I absolutely loved the first book, the second was highly original (Jordon was fantastic), and those after that were just so-so for me. The characters personalities just sort of blend together in a blur and I find that I liked an innocent heroine better then the experienced ladies that have graced the subsequent books. In that time era I find it strange that so many of the ladies were experienced aside from the widow of course. I wish some of the magic(as in amazing storyline) that was in book 1&2 would surface in the next books in the series. I hope anyway...

My Thoughts...
Vincent... Oh my gosh.. his dad is Nicholas.... ***fanning myself here... the hussy is already purring....***
~~~ Side note, I am having problems posting this... it won't let me save... So bear with me~~~
Vincent lives with a friend of his, Landon, on the Satyr estate. They are very close friends... so close they share almost everything. Even their women, or shall I say they Shimmerskins. A Shimmerskin is a mystical woman the Satyr men can conjure up when ever they need to satisfy they most carnal desire. They are there to please the men no matter what might be requested of them. So, Vincent calls upon the same Shimmerskin, every time. He created her to be exactly what he wanted in a woman. He just did not realize that by calling her to him "desire," there would be a price to pay. The price, his precious Shimmerskin becoming a real woman in his bed. And a woman that would soon fill his heart.
Cara is Vincent's Shimmerskin... that is the name he bestows upon her becoming real. What is worst is that someone from the Elseworld is trying to control Cara... and cause harm to Vincent.
This story has it all... betrayal, sex, love, fear, a relationship triangle... and of course my Satyr men!!! You will have to read this story, but let me tell you for 12 chapters, you will be left smiling for the ending is awesome!!! Since it is only 12 chapters long, you guys will probably eat it up within a couple of hours... if that!!! This is another great story about the Satyr men. They never seem to cease to amaze me by what they are capable of doing.
Dominic is actually two novellas - one about Dominic and the other about Vincent (eldest son of Nicholas).
I really liked Dominic but I felt there were portions that were cut short in order to keep the story as a novella. I think it would have been really good as a novel on its own. 4 stars.
Vincent's story seemed like an afterthought and I didn't care for it. It was a little farther fetched in the plot and it also left me wondering why Vincent's brother, Marco, didn't get his own story on how he met his wife. 2 stars.
Continued series of The Lords of Satyr: Dominic a full blood Satyr is sent to EarthWorld to pass on his gift of the demonhand only to find a woman he can't live without. Loved the romance that blooms. Lots of erotica, nice pace, and good plot. Novel is split between two books, Dominic then Vincent. The second book finds to be equally as interesting with a Shimmerskin coming to life in an unexpected way. Both books within this single novel make for an interesting read, however it did feel like the endings on both were rushed. Dominic is an interesting character, very sexy and the better of the two books within this novel.
This was a bit of weird book for me. It contains two stories. One on Dominic which I really liked and the other Vincent, though the end was good I thought the story was pretty poor.
Dominics tale was a much better construsted tale. There was a better build up to the conclusion and if Amber had left it there, I would have been happy. Instead there was a substandard, rather rushed second tale and that diluted the first tale.
For this alone it knocked a star off, otherwise it would have been a five star read
From the covers of this series, you wouldn't actually expect more than sex...but you'd be wrong. In the Lords of Satyr series, Elizabeth Amber has created an intricate world built of two realms, with nineteenth century Italy as its backdrop in one of those realms. The attention to historical detail and customs/culture as well as to character-building and story-telling is paramount, and while sex is certainly a serious part of the story, the larger canvas of world-building and story-telling has never been so apparent as it was in this fourth installment of the series, which actually contains two full tales rather than one (each previous book in the series has one story and romance per book).
Bridging paranormal romance and historical romance, this series has delved into the world-building more and more with each book, but the characters brought to life on the pages could carry the series by themselves. My only complaint here is that as much as I loved the first story in the book, which ran about 205 of the 315 pages, I was even more engrossed in the second story, and I wish each story had been given a full volume to itself (or else that the book had been longer so that we'd have had more time with the second one).
Regardless, though, I'd absolutely recommend this series to anyone interested.
Benotung: 2-3 Sterne
Covergestaltung: gut 😊
Schreibart: gut lesbar 😊
Thematik: geht so 😕
Ich habe lange mit mir gekämpft, ob ich 2 oder 3 Sterne geben soll. Da ich die Grundthematik echt toll finde habe ich am Ende 3 Sterne gegeben, aber leider finde ich das Buch, obwohl ich nicht prüde bin, zu versext.
Ich glaube wenn man allein die Story nimmt, bleiben vielleicht knapp die Hälfte an Seiten über, wahrscheinlich hat die Autorin nicht weiter gewusst und daher nur haufenweise Sex mit reingepackt um die leeren Seiten zu füllen.
Obwohl das Buch sogar 2 Geschichten umfasst ist die eigentliche Thematik um Satyre, die Anderwelt und die Dämonen recht kurz, dafür fallen meiner Meinung nach viel zu viele Seiten dem Sexakt zu. Echt schade, da man ein Buch schön sexy schreiben kann, ohne gleich obszön zu werden, was ich bei den Buch schon leider so empfand.
Ich gebe der Serie trotzdem nochmal eine Chance und hoffe dass das nächste Band besser wird, ansonsten hat sie eine Leserin weniger, da ich die Wortwahl teilweise unangemessen fand.
It was very steamy, a little hard to follow. I read this one first, and apparently there are 3 others preceding it. While it does okay as a stand alone, I am hoping back tracking will answer some questions. I was pleased that Dominic finally found love and someone to accept him, despite his demon hand. I was also horribly glad that Carlo got his just rewards, though it sucks for him that he died the way that he did. I also enjoyed the second story in this, Vincent. Both stories seemed very rushed and hurried, with the use of an alternate timeline of sorts for Satyr kind as an excuse I suppose?
***Contains spoilers****and***trigger warnings***
So this is basically two novellas for the price of one. In the first novella you have Dominic who is the demonhand, and his job is to, and you guessed it, kill demons. However, his introduction nearly had me bail on the book as his first uttered sentence boils down to whether he was being ordered to rape a human woman in order to pass down his demonhand legacy. I am not here for rape, coerced, dub-con sex, but I trudged through hoping he wouldn't agree.
Enter Emma who is his intended victim and her unborn child the heir of Dominic's "wonderful lifestyle". Emma is meek, mild, the picture of a Victorian wife but she secretly hate-loves her husband, Carlo, whom Dominic befriends in order to gain passage from ElseWorld to EarthWorld. Needless to say when Emma finds out she won't be going through the ritual called The Calling with her husband to usher in the birth of their child, and that Dominic whom she is hesitantly attracted to will do the honors, it doesn't go over well.
There are a lot of disturbing things that happen that made my feminism shriek in horror on Emma's behalf and I found myself reminding myself that women back in the 19th century pretty much had little agency. Still, knowing that she was coerced into being with Dominic because (come to find out Carlo was rendered impotent due to wounds he suffered in the war), and for the survival of her child, she basically had no choice but to bone Dominic. Or her baby would die.
So they get it on and on and on all night without stopping. And of course after one night together, hardened Dominic is a softie for Emma who of course feels guilty and like an adulteress.
There really was no romance between Emma and Dominic, and moments that should have led to tense and sticky situations, someone conveniently lost consciousness leaving it up to the reader to figure out what happened.
Treachery happens, discoveries are made, Emma becomes a widow, Dominic's told he's the reason demons are attacking his world. They of course come to attack when he's vulnerable. Emma travels to ElseWorld to save her child once Rosetta, her daughter becomes deathly ill. The two are captured, no surprise there and are held in a cell with Dominic. In the end, Emma saved herself and her daughter, is reunited with Dominic. The end.
The second novella titled Vincent had a much more interesting concept. His mental manifestation he uses strictly for sex and is called in his world as a Shimmerskin becomes real. Lo and behold she is a trojan horse, but of course what she was engineered to do (kill Vincent as someone has a grudge against him) she doesn't do as she fought to maintain her agency. I was thrown off by the M/F/M that was thrown in at the near end of the story as Cara, the shimmerskin, Vincent's creation was completely okay with being shared between him and his BFF Landon who had no POV whatsoever; but we were told that Vincent had not only created Cara for his use but his friend as well. Weird and gross.
The writing is okay, but the lack of consent, women being treated and used strictly for sex and to breed, my mind refused to compute and take any real enjoyment as things unfolded. And I never imagined a vagina as a "throat" before as E.A. frequently referred to the female sex organ as. Again, weird. Her endings for both stories were too rushed though, and problems were easily solvable, leaving me feeling dissatisfied. There was a reveal as to who was responsible for making Cara real, if I understood that properly, which I saw coming from a mile away, but there had been zero reaction from Vincent. Zero. Would I read anything else from this author? No. I think I've had my fill of two cock satyrs. Oh, forgot to mention that when talking about Dominic. Vincent's got that as well, which their 2nd pricks only come out during The Calling.
Weird.
Band 4 der Satyr Reihe wirft zu Anfang einige Fragen auf. Der Haupcharakter der auf dem Buchrücken angekündigt wird führt nicht durch die gesamte Länge des Buches. Nein, es gibt 2 Geschichten: die von Dominic, dessen Geschichte die längere ist und die von Vincent, dem Sohn von Nicholas und Jane, dessen Geschichte um einiges kürzer ist.
# 05 ~ Fazit zur DOMINIC Story: Der weibliche Hauptcharakter in diesem Fall Emma, der Schwester von Jane, die bereits aus den anderen Büchern bekannt ist, ist in der Geschichte von "Dominic" bereits verheiratet und zwar mit Carlo, einem Soldaten der Anderwelt. Und man fragt sich insgeheim wann genau das passiert ist!? Das wirft einige Fragen auf. Hier fehlt die Liebe zum Erzählen der Zusammenführung des Paares, das in diesem Fall ja bereits verheirateten ist. Mir persönlich fehlt die Liebe zum Detail deren Geschichte zu erzählen, die man aus den ersten drei Büchern gewohnt ist und gespannt verfolgt hat. Im Laufe der Story werden einige Fragen beantwortet, allerdings recht kurz und knapp. An und für sich ist die Story von Dominic recht nett, aber man hätte sicher noch mehr rausholen können.
# 06 ~ Fazit zur VINCENT Story:
Die Story ist nett, aber sie hat mich nicht wirklich gefesselt. An manchen Stellen des Buches hatte man mehr Fragen als Antworten und ab und an sorgten diese für Verwirrung. Hier hätte ich mir mehr Liebe zum Detail gewünscht, um die Verbindung zwischen Vincent, Landon und Cara zu erzählen. Man hatte oft den Eindruck, dass man keine Zeit mehr hatte in die Tiefe zu gehen, was schade ist, denn man hätte sicherlich westlich mehr aus der Story raus holen können.
This was two books - Dominic and Vincent.
Dominic
This story is kind of like Buffy with a chosen who kills demons. They way a demonhand is chosen is a bit messed up. I have my theories on why a male or female one comes into existence. Regardless, this story line was odd. It seemed to come out of nowhere with this new demon faction in Elseworld. They tale wasn't too enjoyable for me until Carlo's infidelity is uncovered. Up until this point, the story was a 2 star - just okay. But when Carlo's part is revealed and the non con sex and his "injury" are mentioned, that kind of made the story better. Sick, aren't I? This made it to 2.5 star for me. So unfortunately, it's still stuck on 2.
The sex is good, it's just the story is bizarre. I always feel like Ms. Amber isn't sure what she's creating. It's an organic story in that it just bursts out from her with very little rhyme or reason.
Vincent
How f-ed up is this one? The villain in this one completely threw me. That was way out on left field. There are so many questions that aren't answered. How the hell did the Shimmerskin become human? Or kind of human? What happen exactly after the villain was outed? It seemed to be just glossed over. Bad things happened to Landon, but they are never revealed. The reader does find out he needs to fuck like a Satyr and Cara is right there ready and waiting.
The sex and the depravity in Ms. Amber's books are always enjoyable and give it a 3. But the storyline and disjointed hopping around gives me readers motion sickness. That give it a 2 star. So overall this book is a 2.5 star. Sine I truncate, it's a 2 star.
This two for one book is for erotic readers who enjoy a bit of depravity in their paranormal romance. Just read this book for the non con and con sex.
This is the continuation of the Lords of Satyr novels. If you have read any of the first three of this series, this is more of the same. If you have not, be warned that these are not for everyone.
This book is split between two novellas: Dominic and then Vincent. There is a tie between the two being the coin of Bacchus that is lost in the first and found in the second.
In Dominic, he is a full Satyr that comes to Earth world to pass on his gift of the demonhand to Jane's sister. Her husband is injured and Dominic must help with the birth of their daughter. The demonhand is a soldier that is often scorned for what he is but is necessary in the war against demonkind. He has no choice in what he is but instead of being given respect for his part in keeping them safe he is scorned. Many of our own soldiers go through this when coming back from wars that are unpopular. Dominic is a sad character in many ways because of this and its nice to see when he finds true love.
Vincent continues the story due to the finding of the coin that was lost in the first novella. He conjures a shimmerskin too many times and causes her to come to life. Many reviewers have indicated that Dominic is the better of the two, but I enjoyed both stories very much. Vincent, Cara, and Landon have an unconventional relationship that was very much filled with love.
Overall, I loved both of these books, and for anyone that enjoyed the first in this series I suggest you continue on with this one. They all work great as stand alone or reading them as a series. If you haven't read any of this series, be aware that its definitely for those over 18.
Meh, the plot of both stories were basically the same as all the other books in this series: woman with some sort of confidence/appearance issues is semi-forced into relationship with extremely virile Satyr lord with a magical phallus, then some magical catastrophe occurs, and the Satyr lord must save the woman and the day. The sex scenes weren't anything special, especially in comparison to those in [Book : Raine].
I did have some serious issues with the menage relationship in "Vincent." It was incredibly forced and lacked an emotional foundation with the character, Landon.
Annotation: "Dominic": Dominic is a full-blooded Satyr with a dark destiny that ostracizes him from the rest of the world. But when his keeper sends him to Emma, a human, to pass on his destiny to her unborn child, Dominic finds something he has been missing his entire life.
"Vincent": Vincent, a Tuscan Satyr lord, has issues with human women, so he creates Shimmerskins, mystical constructs built for pleasure. Unlike his brothers, Vincent calls upon the same one again and again until one night she becomes real and the answer to his dreams for himself and his best friend Landon.
Almost did not finish this book until I realized it was two stories and not one. The first story, Dominic, I did not enjoy at all. I skimmed until the end. I enjoyed the second story, Vincent, much more.
Explicit sex scenes in a fantasy/fairytale setting, this is not for every reader.
Not a bad read.. It’s kind of strange in that it is two different Satyr stories. Dominic's story is the first two-thirds of the book... Then grownup Victor (Jane and Nickolas' oldest son) is the last third..Taking place twenty years later. I wish Ms. Amber would have saved Victor for his own book, him and his ELEVEN inches so deserve it..Whew...breathless for a moment. Is it wrong to totally lust after a character in a book?
But I did enjoy installment number 4 of the Satyr series. I was worried that once the three stories of the main brothers were told, the series would fall flat. In book 4 she managed to expand on the else world/ earth world war that continued the story nicely. In this book however, she pretty much cleared all that up. So I’m very interested to see where she goes with Dane the fifth book. Yes I have already ordered it!
I love all my double dong Satyrs as always. And as of book number four I still highly recommend the series.
I have been reading all of Elizabeth Amber's "The Lords of Satyr" series and this is about the 4th in the series. This book has two short stories (novellas). I enjoyed them but you really need to read the first ones in the series but it can be a stand-a-lone but it would be better reading the first ones.. Be forwared this one and all the others are HOT and I mean really HOT books (Sexually Explicit) so if you are shocked by this kind of book don't read it. I do have to say that they do have a story line and not just about the sex.
The first story is "A Night of Bliss" which is Dominic's story and the 2nd story is "A Moment of Rapture". The only thing I really didn't like was in the 2nd story because Ms. Amber didn't really have much to say about the other memeber of this M/F/M grouping. I really would had like to find out more about Landon which is the 2nd male in this?
#4 Lords of Satyr series - Erotic Paranormal
Two Separate Stories: Dominic / Vincent
Dominic:
Emma, Jane's sister, has wed Carlo, a warrior (so he says) who spends most of his time fighting in Else World. Hoping time together with Carlo will improve their bond, Emma is surprised when Carlo returns home with his friend, Dominic -- and some surprising news.
Vincent:
I liked this story very much! Vincent is one of Nicholas and Jane's sons, who gets a surprise from a favorite Shimmerkin. I enjoyed the lighter tone and touches of humor in this story.
This series is so unique. I'll definitely be on the bookstore's sidewalk when #5 Dane is released (so far no specific date).
I wasn't crazy about it. Amber started off strong in this series with oldest brother, Nicholas. I thought the books went downhill after that, but I was hoping she would go in a different direction after she'd written about the three brothers. She didn't. Part of the problem with this book, for me, is that it is much the same as the other books in the series. She adds a little bit of difference with the going between the two worlds, but that isn't enough. The plot reads the same as the others. If I wouldn't have liked Nicholas so much, maybe I wouldn't be expecting more from the rest of her books. But I did, and now I do. This one left me disappointed, but not quite enough for me to give up on her.
I was a little confused at first who all the people were. It had been a while since I'd read the previous book and 15 years had passed since then. All these new characters I wasn't aware how they had come to be. I eventually gave up tryingt o understnad them and quite enjoyed the story, but not as much as the three previous ones before.
This book also turned out to be two shorter stories in one. Each having nothing to do with the other. They are both set in the same place and again new characters popped up without explaining who they were.
Although most of the story was enjoyable I did find it confusing.
