Not her best

I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I have read a few of the Mona Marple cozy mystery books. This series, while good enough, is not her best. The characters are very two dimensional, flat with no omph. The premise started out interesting, but when a witch makes it so everyone can see spirits, the whole medium plot gets plowed over. We are to somehow believe that this woman Connie has enough money to float through her life, much as her sister Sage floats through her afterlife. I do like the way these 4 books ended, but I was bored. The murders were lost in personal angst, the angst was muddled with the investigations. Too many complete turnarounds in the main characters just made it appear as if it was as easy as a click to change the characters personalities. Of course, for the writer, it is. There was no build up for this. Some people will disagree with me and that's what reviews are all about really...people giving their personal experiences. I do not give so few stars lightly. I have read better.

Cracking reads

What an absolute blast this box set was, it had everything. Fun, quirky and entertaining. I love Mona’s Waterfell Tweed series and just had to see where this one would lead me. Lovely setting and the characters come alive on the page.

Most of all the whodunnits were second to none. I didn’t guess who the culprits were.

If you enjoy a gentler read with an added paranoramal Edge then be sure to check out this one, you won’t be disappointed.

An amazing series!

The Ghosts:
Quirky quirky!
This cozy has a paranormal element. And I just loved that! Ghosts, suspense, but never nightmarish scary. Exactly how I like it! Some quirkiness thrown in for good measure :)

The Secrets:
SUCH FUN!
Mystic Springs. Such an idyllic place. You’d think. But no, because there is another murder… When the Sheriff doesn’t seem to really investigate, the team of spirits consisting of Atticus, Sage and Patton, take it upon themselves to find the killer. But spying on people proves to be really difficult now that everyone in Mystic Springs can see them. They need the help of Connie, or doesn’t she want to help? When even the spooks get spooked, lemma tell ya, it gets spooky!
I loved this book, it was fun, entertaining, and I never guessed whodunit! I love that the writing style for Connie and Sage are so different, to reflect their different personalities. Sage, carefree and rebellious, and Connie, serious and insecure, some of that insecurity because she ain’t no size 0. I can identify with Connie so much. But I do love Sage as well! Forever young, forever beautiful and boy does she know it! :D
I couldn’t help myself, Sage is such a hoot, so two quotes from her:
“I guess there can’t be any secrets in Mystic Springs now.” Ha! No secrets, huh?
“If Patton Davey wants to be my friend only, he’d better get used to other people sending me flowers, because I am pretty gorgeous, if you don’t already know.” Gotta love her!

The Curse:
This was ah.ma.zing!
A Hallowe’en themed paranormal cozy. If you like the Waterfell Tweed Series: there is a super pleasant surprise for you in this book!
Someone has put a curse on Baker House. Where the spooks have found a home. And when a man actually turns up dead, it’s clear to everyone that the curse is working.
It was ah.ma.zing! Entertaining all the way, fun, surprising, some magic and a whole lot of spookiness! Loved it!

The Santa Claus:
A Christmassy cozy that I can wholeheartedly recommend!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go… lalala
I love Mystic Springs. I especially love all the characters. I love Connie. And I loved the ending. There was fun, there was suspense; it was spooky not scary, like it says in the blurb, and that was totally true. It was light-hearted, and (always a plus in mysteries) I was surprised. Such a pleasant read! Good plot, good pace. Very charming! If you fancy a good cozy mystery with a paranormal twist, then go to Mystic Springs!

Great set of reads.
The character in this set of books are both witty, wise and believable.
Mystic Springs is the only place on Earth where the normal (living) people live side by side with the ghosts. They can see them & speak to them. All the normal trials & tribulations happening in the town, including murders to be solved.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading these 4 books and am looking forward to reading more.
I can recommend them to any cosy mystery fan that likes something a little different.

Entertaining and fun cozy mystery box set

Mystic Springs has ghosts galore. Connie is a medium who makes a living passing messages from the spirits to the humans. Then the murder occurs. A great value cozy box set of the first four books in the series. The books are light entertaining reads with a great sense of fun. Well written with great characters and stories. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

These books are so much fun to read!

These books are so much fun to read, the characters are larger than life, each one of them quirky and interesting. The town being able to see all of the ghosts that inhabit the town, they mostly all live in a big old manor house and all have their own jobs, unpaid of course!

A delightful read

A series good for a rainy afternoon . The characters are likeable and the mystery plots filled with ghosts and humans in a town where the ghosts can be seen by the townspeople. It's light reading with some laughter ,crazy characters and even the ghosts fall in love.

Fun Reads with great characters!

It feels like I can almost see Connie and Sage. Books are well written, with just enough mystery thrown in to make them interesting. The extra little dash of romance is another fun addition.

Just plain fun.

This series was just a great fun way to pass time. Silly most of the time with humorous situations that makes you smile. Probably suited more for the younger readers but I really enjoyed it.

Spirits and the living making trouble.

Started out interesting in book one. Then characters started getting introduced what a group of people from spirits (the undead) and ghosts let's not forget the witches and real living people. These books really had me hooked.

These were not bad, but agree with another reviewer. Once the whole town could see ghosts, Connie as the local medium didn't seem needed and how she managed to stay afloat with no incoming fees, is a mystery. The premise was fun, but something was lacking. For example, the first murder, and who the actual killer was. It just wasn't what I was expecting or wanting and yet I did figure it out about mid way through the story. And it seems thin. The second one was better, more believable, but also scarier if you think about ghost being able to harm living people. By book 4, Connie seems to have not only lost her source of income, since mediums are not in high demand when everyone who comes into the town can now see them, but she also lost her accent. In book 1, she was obviously British. By book 3, her accent faded. Perhaps it was her whole demeanor, but I also struggled with her being a good fit as a detective. Sage on the other hand was portrayed as too frivolous, but surprisingly astute. And as a ghost, a little more understandable that she may be able to ferry out information (at least when she wasn't visible to everyone), than Connie would be. Again, not bad stories, just not my absolute favorites.

In Mystic Springs you can see spirits, even talk with them

Sisters Connie and Sage are good at solving puzzles and identifying those guilty of murder. While the characters were well-drawn and mostly likable, some of the paranormal structure of the stories did not make sense to me. Spirits could not eat or drink, yet they badly needed to sleep and in a bad, no less. With practice, they could touch corporeal beings but rarely did so. They were very briefly found to be capable of injuring the living, but that capability was largely ignored. I somewhat enjoyed these stories but was so bothered by inconsistencies that I probably won't follow this author. Books could also benefit from the services of a good proofreader.

There's a "relatively" new Ms. Marple in town. And she not only solves mysteries; she WRITES them as well. This 4-book series in so "grabbing" it was hard to close my eReader to go to sleep. And I'm a nite owl by nature. Budding friendships and romances grow as both living and spirit folks join forces to solve some puzzling mysteries. Of course good wins in the end -- in more ways than one. And that's all the "spoiler" I'm gonna give. Now get this set, find yourself a comfortable space, and get ready to enjoy Mystic Springs in all its gory glory.

Entertaining

A series of books set in a town where the living and the departed mingle freely and spirit policeman work along aside with their living counterparts . A medium and her departed sister continue as loving siblings as they help solve murders. A clever conception with fun dialogue and well reasoned plots.

Mystic Springs Books 1-4

Not one of her best and I have read quite of few.
Ok, once I got into the books it got easier but I was not a fan of the way Connie was always talking down about herself. I understand it was how the charactor was written and I am glad that in the next books her outlook got better. The series was a good read once you got into it.

Ghosts interact in this town

There sisters live together, not unusual but one is dead. Connie can talk to ghosts and does daily with her sister, but also with others for money. They even pitch in when there is a murder but no sheriff because the old one is now dead.
