Five years on from Melanie's review and twenty five years since this book was published - but the picture painted in The Reality of Schizophrenia can still seem horribly contemporary. Read it to learn about practices and prejudices that still do influence mental health care. It's also a very easy read.

The author is c;learly passionate about her subject, but with advances in treatment and various interventions, some of the book feels very dated. Worth a look at.
