Red Willow

Rate this book
On the outside, Novak Norwood, the crime king of California, has everything he could possibly need - good looks, money, and friends. He’s satisfied with life, at least that’s what everyone thinks, but it’s a lie. Beneath his fake smile is a pain that will never heal, which Novak thinks he deserves. And then he meets Willow. Willow Walsh is a free spirit, which is what brought her to L.A. Her whole life changes when she meets Novak who becomes her focus, her love. But when Novak’s past literally returns with a vengeance, they have to fight as one to stay together, but will either come out unscathed?

I can’t get over the fact that he killed his father, mother and young brother! He looked them in their eyes, he told them he loved them and shot them point blank in the head. What kind a person does this? I would have preferred to die right along with my family! This hero is not someone to be romanticized. Who cares he’s a 34 year old man who hasn’t touch a woman? I don’t give a crap about that. I would never leave my kid with this man. He’s a killer, his own family killer!
It just makes me think what world are we living in that this type of content is romanticized?
The author might have found her reason plausible but for me it wasn’t.

I knew going into this one that both characters were going to be virgins, but I assumed they would both be youngish. But...OMG people, the hero was a 34-year-old crime boss virgin that hadn't even KISSED anyone before. Lord save me...On top of that, the writing wasn't outstanding. It was cheesy and juvenile. C'est la vie...

This one was so sweet! Those epilogues really hit the spot. We get to see everyone all together at the beach with their families.

Also, the heroine, Willow, didn't suffer that terrible if an attack or separation from the H.

Dual virgins.

It's unfortunate that Novak had to do what he did as a teen. I blame his Dad. The book flowed nicely and breezed right through it. Always a safe author.

I liked this story but it wasn’t my favourite from the series. I liked both Novak and Willow I just didn’t feel completely connected to them. I think it might be because they already had a bit of a relationship and routine I didn’t really see them fall in love, they were already there.
I didn’t have a problem with the prologue. I didn’t blame Novak for his actions but I do blame his father completely. What father sends his 15 year old to go work for a kingpin and spy on him? How is there any positive outcome in this? He was just a child, 15 year olds are so impressionable. His parents did a horrible job raising him. I do feel awful for his little brother, he was innocent in all of this and didn’t deserve his fate.
Willow was a sweetheart with a heart of gold and got Novak to express his pain and sorrow and show her his soft side. The two complemented each other nicely.
I am looking forward to Foster’s book next.

Safety
Completely safe. Both are virgins. This is a mafia book so there is violence and death, none to the main characters.

I really enjoyed this book. You have done it again, May!

Novak Norwood is the crime king (kingpin) of California and Willow Walsh is a free spirit. He has been watching her closely for two years and has done everything he can to keep her safe. She works for him now in one of his restaurants and he is just about to lose it wanting her so fiercely. Novak has a lot of darkness in his past and he wants to keep that away from Willow but is finding it tougher and tougher as time marches on. She feels the same about him and she finally works up the nerve to ask him out.

He is pretty sure he's in love with her and she feels the same towards him. Their journey is interesting and I enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend this book.

This is a safe read.
H and h are both virgins. (He tells us in the story that he has never kissed anyone in his 34 yrs.
No OW/OM drama.
Absolutely no cheating.
Great HEA with two epilogues.

This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and is Willow and Novak’s story. Willow is a free spirit, and when she meets crime lord bad boy Novak, there is an instant attraction. This is a beautifully written story, which has secrets, healing, and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, and highly recommend for all readers.

I love May Gordon and everything she writes. This book is beautifully written about 2 people who have never been sexually active who fall in love with each other. Novak is a bad boy crime lord who appears to have it all, but really is hiding a secret. Willow comes into his life and decides she will heal him. Beautifully written love story with plenty of romance and chemistry!

Norvak is reluctant to drag Willow into his world but for 2 years he’s been watching and protecting her. Willow is determined he’s hers so makes her move. When a threat from his past appears he must protect her but will she feel the same when he reveals his part in his parents death?

Sweet and dark

The prologue floored me. I couldn’t believe what he had to do to his family. Sexy scenes were awesome, but I still love the epilogues and how how the kids are getting bigger... awwww

This story is sweet and feisty. Willow and Novak are perfectly matched! He has been watching over her, protecting her from afar. Until the attraction between them makes that no longer an option. I always love in when big, strong, tough men have a softness for their woman, the one person who gets to see the soft underbelly of the beast.
