Firefighter Wolves Shifters #1

Obsessed with the Alpha Wolf

Rate this book
Only she could soothe the storm raging inside him...

She only knows me as a firefighter who saved her life.
My truth is much darker.
She might never forgive me once she finds out who I really am.

Something dangerous is coming for his pack. Ben Stokes, wolf shifter and Alpha of the Lenox pack can feel it deep in his bones. His problems are only compounded when he meets a human woman, who he is drawn to despite knowing that tangling with a human would spell disaster. And Ben cannot explain why his instincts want to turn him into her protector. He knows that he shouldn’t get close to her… but he can’t stop himself.

Lana Deary has come to Lenox to start a new business and new life. Only things don’t go according to plan when she arrives to find her business a smoldering mess and her attraction to Ben Stokes, the hot firefighter she meets on the scene is not part of her plan.

As Ben tries to hold his pack together as the feeling of danger ramps up, and Lana tries to rebuild the ruins of her life, the attraction between the two of them is undeniable. But as their passion grows, so does the danger to the love blossoming between them.

And when an old enemy does come to Lenox, Ben will have to choose between love for his pack and love for the woman who may just well be his mate.

Note: Adults Only.

This is the first book of firefighter wolves shifter series with a HEA and no cliff-hangers. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone too. Fans of Terry Bolryder, Zoe Chant, Harmony Raines and T.S. Joyce may like this shapeshifter series.

I wasn't expecting anything groundbreaking, but this book just left me feeling disappointed and like I wasted an hour of my time. Sadly, I could accurately predict everything that was going to happen next and some of those things were the usual annoying clichés that got real old after the first couple of times that I read them since long ago.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy formulas, but they need to be written in a clever, funny, or new way. This author's style of writing worked for me. There just needed to be a twist or something to set it apart from every other similar book.

This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters in Lana and Ben. The author does a great job building their story and pulls you in with all the drama and intrigue. She gives them a hot and steamy chemistry and weaves an interesting and entertaining story I enjoyed reading. She moves the story quickly and smoothly and had me hooked from start to finish. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Obsessed with the alpha is a kicking romance novel with action and romance thrown together with a strong female lead. And a alpha whose a little bullheaded... but aren't they all lol.
Lana can't wait to start her new life in the quiet town called Lenox. That is until she sees what she has to deal with for a shop. And it doesn't help that their fire chief is a handsome, but snarky butthead to her. But she can't get over him for some odd reason. Why does he act like she's out to get him?
Ben of the Lenox pack knows something is off, but he can't put his paw on it. He knows it's not the tiny thing that just blew into Lenox. He's pretty sure he has her pegged for the city girl she is. But what is it about her that calms his wolf. And what danger is lurking in his quiet town that has his fur on end...

Obsessed with the Alpha Wolf begins the Firefighter Wolves Shifters series with an intense romance with two extremely stubborn people – but Ben wins, hands down, on being stubborn to the point of hurting himself. As far as I can remember, this is my first story by Brittany White. I like her style, the way she plots her story and the way she brings her characters to life. I’ll be following this series, and perhaps dip into some of her other series in the next few weeks.

Lana’s arrival in her new hometown ready to open up her dream bookstore is met with disaster from the moment she hits town. Her bookstore is damaged but not beyond repair yet that hot, sex on a stick sexy fire chief is annoying beyond words from the moment they met. She has no idea that she is setting off alarms with Ben’s wolf or that as his pack’s Alpha his decision to never let humans close to his pack is in very real danger of crumbling once he realizes that Lana is his mate – his human mate. Then he goes and does something Alpha stupid… stubborn, bullheaded wolf.

The Lennox’s pack’s past is about to invade their present and try to steal their future. A battle is brewing and Ben makes decisions that are so counterproductive to both himself and Lana. It will take cunning, strength, and sheer will to fix this problem once and for all – then he just has to win back his mate, the mate he angered, hurt, and sent on her way. Yeah. Right. Easy peasy – not.

I enjoyed Obsessed with the Alpha Wolf very much, and have no intention of giving any more away. This one you’ll want to wrap around yourself as you take the first journey into a new series with intriguing, intense characters and situations. I’ve got Craved by the Alpha Wolf downloaded and will be starting that in the next few days. If you love a good Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance then you’ll want to check this one out… now.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

I went into this book thinking it would be a great read. While it’s not terrible, it’s not my cup of coffee. It was on the shorter side (think novella) and so fast-paced. Like too fast-paced.

The whole insta love made me cringe. There are very few books and circumstances that I approve of insta love. Typically it’s with mates and that scenario. But it didn’t work for me in this book. If the book would have been longer and more spaced out with time to build the characters it would have worked.

I could not connect to any of the characters. I think it’s mainly due to the shortness of this book. There is no background info on any of the characters beyond knowing both Lana and Ben’s parents are passed away. Each character felt two dimensional to me and flat. They were pretty bland and cookie-cutter as well.

The chemistry wasn’t there for me. It’s like they meet and two seconds later they love each other and are pregnant. Maybe that’s for some people, but it isn’t for me. While this is the worst book I’ve ever read, I didn’t enjoy myself that much either.

The worldbuilding was practically non-existent in this book. If I was a reader reading a werewolf book for the first time I would be very confused.

Overall this book wasn’t for me, but hey, maybe you’ll enjoy it.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this short read. Ben is the fire chief, a wolf shifter and the Lenox Pack’s Alpha. Ben has been feeling like something bad is heading their way, maybe it means that the Canergie Hunters are coming. He’s starting to feel how much responsibility is on his shoulders when it comes to protecting his pack. Lana has decided to leave Boston, and start fresh by taking over the bookstore in Lenox. That dream comes crashing down when the moment she arrives in town she finds out that her bookstore and apartment are on fire. Ben, is an a*sehole to Lana thinking that she’s a tourist, and isn’t much better when he finds out that she’s the owner of the bookstore. Ben doesn’t trust humans. Lana scares also him, as he felt something towards her straight away but he has responsibilities to his pack so it’s easier to try and scare her away. I’m glad that Lana wasn’t afraid to argue with Ben, especially when he was being a grumpy d*ck. The chemistry between them is explosive. Will Lana be able to handle that Ben isn’t human? I enjoyed meeting Ben’s brother and second in command Josh and I’m looking forward to reading his story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

💢 Wowzer I love a book with action right from the beginning. Makes for a phenomenal book.

🔹️Lana Deary wanted to start a
new life, so she quit her job and a bought a book store in Lenox. What great luck she has from the very beginning, her store blew up in flames, then crossing swords with the hunky firefighter. Ooooo what a kisser, definitely a ten.

🔹️ Ben Stokes, is the Alpha Wolf Shifter of the Lenox Pack plus the town firefighter. Ben’s not a human lover but he sure is drawn to the new book store owner. Could she be his Fated Mate? Can he keep her safe from his old nemesis?

☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

Brilliant read

Loved this book Lana arrives in town where she has bought a bookstore but when she arrives a fire is being out out it is her shop. The fire chief is short and rude to her but she feels an instant attraction to him. Ben and his team put out the fire and he meets Lana the strange feelings he has been feeling are soothed when he is by Lana. Ben spends getting to know Lana and the attraction between them blossoms but trouble comes to Bens pack and he pushes Lana away as he doesn’t want her to be hurt as it would destroy him but Lana ends up getting kidnapped by his enemy. Ben has made his biggest mistake pushing Lana away he acknowledges she is his mate now he needs to rally his pack to get his mate back and destroying their enemy who want to either have where they live and if they don’t go then a fight will happen.

Lana is looking to start a new life outside of Boston. She has left it all behind and moved to Lenox. She’s looking to open a bookstore in this small town. But what happens next changes everything. Ben, the Alpha, is drawn to her from the moment he sees her. He does what he can to stay away from her but gives in when he realizes he can’t. He comes off a little harsh at first, but softens upon wanting to get to know her. When a old enemy threatens his pack and Lana, Ben must do what he has to in order to protect what’s his. I was smiling and getting teary eyed. This is a great read and I recommend this Alpha Story!

Lana Deary quits her corporate job in Boston and wants to start her life buying an old bookstore in a small town called Lenox after her mum died... But all her dreams shatter when she finds her bookstore on fire and has nothing left in the world... Ben stokes, chief firefighter, also Alpha Werewolf trusts no human particularly Lana as she brings out primal feelings in him... Ben has been restless for quite sometime and couldn’t get the reason therefor... Lana gets kidnapped by Ben’s Old enemy... Will Ben accept Lana as his mate?? Will he be able to save Lana and his pack?? The story created Brittnay White is excitingly sublime... Her manoeuvre of turns of events by the author is really elegant... Highly recommended!!

I like how the author writes.. engaging and precised not boring us with so many inner thoughts and wordy chapters.

I'm just not so much into how they quickly got together in the first chapters.. with how the hero handled his situation thereafter with the heroine.. considering she's his mate.. or maybe I'm just so used reading other shifter stories, so different from how this author writes her wolf shifters when it comes to mates and healing of wounds.. it's refreshing in a way.. but for the heroine to have such developed deep feelings for the hero and feel so much pain, in just two to three short meetings within a matter of two to three weeks, is quite ludicrous to me..

Nevertheless this author has caught my interest and I'd be reading a few more of her books.

This was a wonderful shifter story about Ben Stokes the Fire Chef who is the Alpha of his wolf pack in Lenox an a fire in the town’s book store brings a premonition of trouble coming but not just in the form of a human female Lana Deary who’s just brought the book shop after moving from Boston for a fresh start and after meeting her outside the burning store it makes his wolf stand up and take notice in this hot female but this bad feeling he keeps getting just won’t go away and his pack is feeling it as well but when he is close to Lana his mind and wolf are calm, could she be his mate and is it safe for him to be with her or not.

Lena arrives in Lenox to find the bookshop she purchased burnt down.
Arriving in the town of Lenox Lena Deary spots a fire where her new bookshop is situated and is shocked when she sees it is the bookshop that has burnt down. Ben Stokes is a wolf shifter and Alpha of the Lenox pack also he and his wolves run the local fire service. After putting out the fire in the bookshop he meets the new owner and finds himself reacting strangely to her and that has him acting badly and coming off as an ass. But Lena starts to repair the bookshop and she gradually starts to feel attracted to him.

Lana needs a fresh start in life, so what better way then by small bookstore in small town. Lana is shocked to learn and see her business burn to the ground. while trying to deal with the lost and to be yelled at by a big hunky jerk. Lana doesn't know if she should be shock or upset with the fire chief attitude. Ben has a lot of responsible with being Alpha of the Lenox pack and fireman. The chemistry when these two meets at their yelling match can spark flames. Could Ben have found his one his fated mate? if you love to read about hot alpha fireman then you will love this book highly recommend reading today

This one was short, which is probably what saved it — because the only thing I was obsessed with was getting to the end. The alpha was more jerk than charming, and the whole “I was awful, now I’m sweet, and you just accept it?” dynamic did not work for me.

There wasn’t much chemistry, plot, or depth — just a fast track from “ugh” to “okay I guess.” Honestly, I wouldn’t have finished it if it had been even 50 pages longer.

Not the worst thing I’ve read, but not something I’d recommend unless you’re in desperate need of a quick shifter fix and don’t mind emotionally lazy wolves.

I expected more of this book!!

I liked the h & H but I expected a lot more of the alpha! He was kind of weak. Also being a “warewolve” who are afraid of “humans”. He meets h & a human is his fated mate.. which makes no sense. I thought at some point she was going to turn to a warewolf too. Then she is pregnant.. so she is going to have a mixed half humans & warewolf baby?!? Makes no sense. It was really rush.

A quick, and enjoyable, read. Ben is not only the fire chief for their sleepy town, he’s also the alpha of the local wolf pack. One day, answering the call to a fire, he meets his fated mate. But she’s human! He really wants nothing to do with humans, so he fights the bind and his wolf. But as always happens (luckily) he comes to his senses. I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series.

Oh my

One a grumpy fire fighter and a women starting a new life. Um grumpy fire fighter met his match I think. Good thing he is alpha because if not woman might have been. Ben ended up not so grumpy after his mate Lana kisses him. Oh my and than we have greedy people like Rebecca come and try to take their home away. Hopefully Rebecca no longer breathing, it never does say. Oh well. Thank you I enjoyed this book.

This was a great story about Ben and Lana. I enjoyed the backstory and plot occurring as their romantic relationship develops.
Ben was delightful broody but not a complete jerk. Lana was not a meek pushover. Definitely attributes I look for in my characters to not have.
I do hope there are more books in this world coming.

Don't ya just love those firefighters!

Lana was someone I'd want to know. Brave enough to leave everything behind to start a new life. That goes up in smoke the minute she gets to town. Ben is the fire chief with an attitude, as well as the local Alpha. Lana and Ben have chemistry...like fire and gasoline. Which may come in handy against a Hunter threatening the pack. An exciting and suspenseful story.

Ben Meets Lana

Lana moved to Lenox to start a new life after buying a bookstore in the town. Lenox is close to Shadowbrook, an estate where the fire station and pack lives. This is a quick read, a bit of history quickly relayed that felt a bit that I missed a prequel. But it didn't hurt the story. I read this through the KU program.

The story held my attention throughout. The characters were likeable and relatable at the same time. I thought think this is a great start. Being the first, I'm sure we will get more involved with the Lennox pack as the series develops. This is my voluntary opinion of an advanced copy I received.

This was a quick read but it was well written and the storyline was intense and kept the overall story very interesting! Though I was really hoping Lana would have made Ben grovel a bit more but in the end it was meant to be!!
