a beautiful and fun and useful expansion on her how-to video series, which helped me grow a 10-foot tree in my backyard.

finally found a "grow weed outside 101" book and it's filled with beautiful photos! A book written just for me! I love growing & gardening and have wanted to try growing my own weed for years . . . waiting for VA to NORML-ize weed. Incredible photography too -- I'm a visual rather than scientific person, so I studied each photo

This is the gardening approach to cannabis for those of us who want to grow our ganga under the sun, as it has been done for millennia. The author prunes out the inefficient techniques and cloistral jargon found in indoor grow guides, replacing them with traditional, organic gardening practices and terminology. Every step of the way, from seeds to soil, pruning, harvesting, and drying, Silver walks us through the simplest, cheapest, and most enjoyable strategies for cultivating a healthy batch of bud. This was precisely the guidebook I was looking for.

The numerous, full-page photographs are both beautiful and educational. Silver includes a brief summary of cannabis cultivation’s rich history as well as a few grower profiles which provide an excellent introduction to the culture and pride of a cannabis grower. She doesn’t waste words; this is a quick and painless read. That’s good, because I am eager to get started!

Despite everything I like about this book, I must warn about the font size. There are several pages your grandmother can read across a room jarring harshly against normal-sized (but double-spaced) text on the next page and sidebar text so small you have to get close to read it. I guess it was part of a strategy to grow a small guide into a full-sized book, but I think it was done poorly. Regardless, I’d buy it again.

The author is a former garden editor and writer for Sunset Magazine. She takes the approach of a gardener instead of a grower, which is significantly different than other reference materials on the market or on the internet (a gardening approach rather than growing for crop, hydroponics, etc.). If you want to try growing Cannabis from seed, this will provide you a solid foundation on how to introduce this interesting plant into your garden.

I had grown weed from clones purchased from dispensaries the previous two years and had moderate success on my own. This was my first attempt growing from seed and had a hugely successful harvest thanks to this book.

I used the book as a step by step guide and referenced it frequently during every phase of the process. The author provides excellent tips and tricks from her own personal experience that really give you the confidence you need to start growing. 10/10 would recommend this book to anyone interested in growing their own stash.

A fabulous resource book for gardening cannabis and how to prepare it for consumption. Graphic designers may also enjoy the layout of the book and different use of fonts and sizes. A unique and informative read.

Great info. However, I personally find it hard to read books that change the font size on every other page. I wish there was more consistency with that.

I heard the author speak at Book Passage and loved her approach. She worked at Sunset magazine and has serious gardening creds. I love the photos and the language. And I love that it's bright pink, as it should be.
