Gossip is an often misunderstood subject of personal interaction. Some gossip is innocuous idle chatter and is pretty much harmless. The ugly side of gossip, which is the more prevalent – and the focus of this book - can destroy personal relationships and do serious harm to business workplaces. Entire families have been turned into dysfunctional turmoil because of malicious gossip. The author outlines powerful methods for spotting the origins of a "gossip chain" at its inception and stopping it before it builds up a head of steam and sews its seeds of destruction. His methods work wonders in fostering an atmosphere of positive interpersonal communication within families, circles of friends, social groups and companies – both large and small. This book encourages readers to look at themselves through a different lens. It's informative, entertaining and actionable. Ok, this has potential but needs edits. The first few chapters are extremely short and the following chapters slightly short which makes for a quick and to the point read. However, the author point blank tells you at the end of each chapter what he’s going to say next or revised. (In the next chapters... I said... in previous sections) I know I’m being nit picky but it’s insulting as a reader... like dude, I read you 2 page chapter, there’s absolutely no need to preview the next chapter cause it literally starts on the third page 🤦♀️ APA formatting for citations would be nice, along with more research to add and provide context to your personal stories.
All in all- nice suggestions for someone entering the workplace or a new job. Would also be great for undergrad students.
