Born and raised in the American mid-west, Jeff Smith learned about cartooning from comic strips, comic books, and watching animation on TV. In 1991, he launched a company called Cartoon Books to publish his comic book BONE, a comedy/adventure about three lost cousins from Boneville. Against all odds, the small company flourished, building a reputation for quality stories and artwork. Word of mouth, critical acclaim, and a string of major awards helped propel Cartoon Books and BONE to the forefront of the comic book industry.
In 1992, Jeff’s wife Vijaya Iyer joined the company as partner to handle publishing and distribution, licensing, and foreign language publications. In the Spring of 2005, Harry Potter’s U.S. publisher Scholastic Inc. entered the graphic novel market by launching a new imprint, Graphix with a full color version of BONE: Out from Boneville, bringing the underground comic to a new audience and a new generation.
In 2007, DC Comics released Smith’s first non-creator owned work, SHAZAM! Monster Society of Evil, a four-part mini-series recreating a classic serial from comic’s Golden Age. Between projects, Smith spends much of his time on the international guest circuit promoting comics and the art of graphic novels.

Bone and his pals enjoy two adventures in this book - Finders Keepers and Smiley's Dream Book.

Anyone who’s read the complete Bone knows how quickly and deeply it went into high, and dark!, fantasy, leaving somewhat behind its theoretical origins of merely following the three adorable, cartoon Bone cousins on their wacky adventures. So this is a lighthearted way to see them merely in that aspect, and a great way to introduce young readers to the storytelling charms of Jeff Smith.

Another great Bone book for the collection. This was super quick and fun. Two stories inside. The first being "Finders Keepers". Following our three Bone boys after they find a coin on the ground. Each boy has their own idea on how to use the coin. With them all wanting to use it they end up fighting and losing the coin. Remember to share kids! The second story is "Smiley's Dream Book". Smiley is taking a nap and dreams about flying with the beautiful songbirds. Another dose of fun. You can tell this book is geared to a very young audience. Each page is one panel. Big art. Big letters. Very easy to digest. For those who care about the main series, this is obviously taking place before the grand adventure. All the boys are very young and much more clothed than I'm used to. Overall this was a fun book and I'm glad to add another Bone book to the collection! Highly recommend.

Published in 2020. Two short stories featuring the Bone characters before the events of Bone. All told in one panel a page. I would say this is works better as an early book for kids than for adult fans of Bone. It'd make for an okay single issue of a comic book, but stretched out to a book feels like a cash-grab.
Set in Boneville (I think) we unfortunately don't get to actually see anything in Boneville except for the fact that they have modern street drainage and sewers.
Come on Jeff! Bone fans are getting older (and I'd wager the majority of Bone fans are adults) we want something for us.

Jeff Smith’s wonderful stories about the Bone Cousins are nothing short of enchanting, he brings the same charm and magic to this wonderful children’s picture book. This is truly a treasure.

The Bone cousins are back with two small adventures in this children's book! Plenty of colorful detailed pictures for young children to enjoy, and easy enough to read for beginners!

Not in the collection I am reading and barely worth a review, these 2 short stories are pointless in the grand scheme of the Bone universe. Only read it out of curiosity and because it came with a bundle I purchased. If you spend more than a few bucks on this, you have been ripped off.
