Spirit, Soul, and Body

Rate this book
Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were "born again?" You look in the mirror and see the same reflection - your body hasn't changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed?
The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like: "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!"
Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

This book covers a topic I think every born-again Christian needs to be familiar with and provides a lot of scripture to back up the point. The book explains who you are and how you function as a born-again believer, something so many don't have any clue about. I believe this book (topic in general) is an essential piece to a victorious and purposeful Christian walk. Plus, it calls out some bad theology. Don't be surprised if after reading Spirit, Soul & Body (that is, when you understand the concept of spirit, soul, and body) the Bible yields a lot of fresh revelation, as you read it with new understanding.

There are some things I disagree with when it comes to the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues. But putting that aside a lot of it makes sense and it is a good read. I’m giving three stars because I found it sometimes repetitive literally saying the same things all the time and self promoting referencing other books of his and idk I’ve never liked that

Loved the main premise and have been highly influenced by the truth he puts out there regarding our spirit when we are born again.
However, I’m not a fan of his writing style and it really dragged on after the first couple chapters (and main point of the book). I’d recommend “The Forgotten Way” by Ted Dekker instead.

Amazing book for all believers. Really gets down to the core of who we are in Christ and how to start renewing our minds and walk by the spirit. A must read!

I gave a 5* because this book was so captivating and profound! The author has a very strong logic and paired with super natural revelation makes you understand not only the structure of your being, but many other things that are built on that. He gives a very clear and strong argumentation to his ideas, but I want to mention that in my opinion, sometimes I do not agree. For example, for the so well known verse Philipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" he goes with the 'standard' interpretation that 'all' means 'all' and even more, something supernatural, or at least living in the Spirit which the flesh cannot do. However, while that may be true, I think that in the context, the apostle Paul is referring to something else: the fact that he can adapt to be in prison or in liberty, in good or not so good situations. In my opinion, Andrew Wommack goes with the majority and abuse of this verse. Also, please be aware that Andrew is preaching prosperity and absolute healing for everyone. I'm not saying this is true or not, but I have some reserves on what [financial] prosperity means. 'Eat the chicken, spit the bones', told me someone recently. I think it can be a very useful book for everyone.

Life-changing book!
I had never heard about our tri-part spirit, soul, and body before.
This was a revelation to me and explained so clearly why I could be a new creation, perfect and holy even though I was still tripping up in my Christian walk on a daily basis!
For anyone who has been saved and "stuck" like me, this message can transform your Christian walk and encourage you that while the flesh can still let you down, your spirit is already perfect and that is the bit that God looks at. The illustrations Andrew uses really help to get his point across too. Our soul is the valve that determines how much of our born-again spirit life flows through into our physical bodies. I will be coming back to this book again and again.

Clearly explained

This is the first time in my 59 years what our spirit, soul and body are, and are not, from a Christian prospective. Foundational for understanding who we are and how to live victoriously in relationship with our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, with Holy Spirit, and how all three of our parts were created with intention to interact with all three of God's parts in harmony. Thank you, Andrew, for sharing the benefits of decades of study and meditation you invested to come to understand these truths so others can understand also and move forward in relationship with and their purpose given by God.

This book broke me out of my 6-month funk, cured me of my depression, and restored joy to my life. I didn't know what was wrong with me or who I was anymore...turns out I just forgot who I was in Christ. I am immensely grateful to Andrew Wommack for making the basics of Christianity so simple. Thank you Jesus!!!
I recommend this book to everyone, especially people who have difficult and/or conflicting feelings about God. This book dispels all misunderstandings about God and the Christian life.
For further reading, I recommend "How to Walk in the Spirit" by Rick McFarland, which picks up where "Spirit, Soul and Body" leaves off.
I'm going to go frolic in a field now, I'm so happy.

I was recommended this book by someone who is a non-denominational Christian, while I myself am Catholic. I started this book thinking it was going to be more in line with the Catholic Theology that I was used to. However, once I realized that this book was a motivational book then I found it easier to accept some of the authors assumptions. As a Catholic the first 20 or so pages felt very strange as the Author defines his terms differently than a Catholic would. That being said, this book was motivational and I did learn new things. As someone who believes in God, I think this book was worth reading for me.

This is an AWESOME teaching!

If you’re anything like me, I couldn’t quite make the connection between what actually happened to me at the point of my conversion from this world into God’s kingdom. I knew I was saved but, which part? Brother Wommack cleared up years of confusion with this book! My spirit is what is completely saved and where the Holy Spirit lives in me. My soul and body still have a long way to go and won’t be completely saved until God calls me home to Heaven!! I recommend this book for every child of God!!!

God bless you, Brother Wommack!!

Spirit, Soul and Body explains how it is possible that God promises that by His stripes we were healed, and yet oftentimes this truth is not manifested in the natural. Our spirit is changed at salvation, the way we see physical and emotional transformation is by the renewing of our mind to His Word.

Remember that what is spiritually true is “more” true than what is naturally true.

Our mind determines if we experience victory and the life that has been made possible to born again believers by our born again perfected spirits. Renewing the mind facilitates and enables transformation.

Good book

Andrew shows that the spirit of a person is the part of a person that is changed when he/she is born again. In order for this change to take affect in the whole person, one must follow/sow to the Spirit and not the Flesh. One does this by conforming his/her mind/self to the word of God; by constantly mediating on it. By doing this, one allows his whole self (body, soul and spirit) to walk in the Spirit.

Great book. Great teacher.

Gave me tremendous insight into my personal relationship with the holy spirit. I've never heard these Words before on spirit, soul, and body. I came to understand that I need to focus on the spiritual things instead of focusing on self and how to be successful in the world. Great book. Great teacher. I highly recommend this book and others by Andrew Womack.

A MUST READ FOR BELIEVERS AND UNBELIEVERS

What a brilliant read. I couldn't put it down. The explanation of the title was explained clearly and backed up by scripture. I believe the hardest of hearts will be broken and the cynics will have their eyes opened. Believers will have their minds renewed, so please don't shy away from this book. You WILL benefit from it I assure you. Happy reading. 🙂

Great book, easy rood and so so true, helped me very well.

This book has should me statements that had me back and forth with the book and my bible over and over , I highly recommend it to any one that is having trouble understanding how true the bible is and how to bring the word into your life like you really believe what Jesus did for you has made you to do the things that He said He did.

I am a Spirit, I have a soul(mind,will and emotions) and I live in a body

Thank you Andrew for so simply peeling back the covers so we can first peer into and then fully embrace the heart of GOD for His children. His beloved ones. We are his children made in his image and likeness His Spirit. He never leaves us or forsakes us once He in dwells us. Hallelujah!

Eyes opening book

I had read a couple of books on spirit, soul and body by which I was blessed. But, this book, by Andrew Wommack has brought me a deeper understanding of this topic. Adding to that, the book is very practical. Love it and recommend it.

Great truths revealed in this book of who we truly are! Unless we understand that 1/3 of us which is spirit & we already have it all & we start to function & have it manifested in our soul & body, we will truly have life & peace, overcoming & victorious lives!
