Warning: Sweet, sexy and safe read! Happily ever after guaranteed! This author writes what she likes to read. That means there will be instalove, OTT Heroes, and, brace yourselves, virgin characters at times. If none of those float your boat, you might want to find another book. If they do, you're in the right place.

'Fighting Irish' is the second book in May Gordon's series ' Crime Kings.' I really enjoyed this story!
The hero, Quinn O’Sullivan, is the kingpin of Nevada. He is thirty-four years old and has had sexual relations once when he was drunk and wanted to get his virginity out of the way. After the major fiasco he decided to remain celebate which he has been for sixteen years. He has just made a deal with the kingpin in Ireland who is retiring and on his way out. In exchange for all his merchandise Quinn must marry and protect Molly Dunne, the only granddaughter of Connor, head of the Irish mob. It will be a marriage of convenience and they will divorce a little later on.
Molly is an expert underground fighter and can beat most any man in the ring. She has now arrived in Las Vegas to meet her husband. She decided to go to a fight club while getting acclimated to the city of lights. Quinn receives a phone call to inform him there is trouble at his club. He quickly arrives at the club and lays eyes on his beautiful new wife and at just a glimpse he has sworn he will never let her go. As she and her uncle are heading to their vehicle she knows she's being followed and turns around giving the offender a swift left hook knocking him on his backside. How funny, yes, of course, it was her husband whom she'd never met! My only disappointment was that the hero had given his virginity to a nameless woman and since our heroine is a virgin he wishes he would have held on to his and presented his wife with it as she had done for him. He didn't know the woman's name and was drunk during the deflowering. I certainly wish he would have waited. To be celibate all that time yet unable to give his wife his virginity because of one drunken night bothered me. I am not the kind of person who wants all heroes to be virgins, not at all. But it really troubled me that he gave it away just to get rid of it. It still bothers me a day later and I can't really pinpoint exactly why. It just makes me feel sad. There is no such thing as almost a virgin...you either are or your not and he missed his chance.
Great read. I loved it. The only separation was because of a kidnapping where they were apart for a month. The only om drama was from the villains. Perfectly safe. Full review
This one was different. The h was more of a badass than the H. And she saves the day. She did do something that really upset me though. No spoilers here. Otherwise love me a safe book from a safe author.
Wow! Molly is one tough and feisty woman and Quinn falls madly in love with her the first moment she punches him in the face. These two are instantly connected but are far from living happily ever after. There are threats that want Molly for themselves and will do anything to make her theirs.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow drama. Om underworld criminal from Ireland wants h for himself and kidnaps H so she’ll trade herself for him. H only has sex once when he was 18 and drunk, he regrets it. h is a virgin. No abuse but there is violence and death amongst some of the criminals.
Though I enjoyed certain aspects of this book (i.e., the general idea for the plot, the sassy, female boxer heroine, and how quickly the hero became protective of her), I can't shake the feeling it was all too rushed due to its speed walking writing style. I wish more time had been spent on main couple romantic plot development. Sure, we were told they quickly fell for each other, but I didn't really see how that was possible since they spent so little time together. At least it is romance safe (no cheating, no love triangle, and no OW drama. The OM's interest in the heroine is definitely unwanted.
There is some life-threatening action drama near the end that could have been great. But, once again, in the blink of an eye it happened and just as quickly was over.
Since I have not read the first book, I have no idea if this is a pattern with this author or simply a fluke. Here's to hoping those who like a Speedy Gonzales type mafia romance really enjoy it. It had the makings of a great read, but the execution of it mostly missed the mark with me.
P.S. The book cover bugged the heck out of me. I think it is the hero's expression. He came off as rather sweet, classy, well dressed, and even gentlemanly, in a mafioso lethal sort of way, of course. That image just didn't seem to fit him. The heroine sticking her finger in his mouth, too. What's up with that???

I found this author through a recommendation and I only have one more of hers to read before I’ve exhausted her current available books. Each book has a common theme - sweet affection, instalove, alpha male, smart woman, celibate/virgin heroine, celibate hero/virgin hero, passionate but not overly erotic love scenes, someone is kidnapped (including the hero lol) a bad guy is always waiting in the wings, never any om/ow scenes, pregnancy, older man/younger woman by an average of 12 years, epilogues that span years. Each book is fairly short - about an hours worth of reading but there is plenary of story packed in there. They could use more editing since there are several missing words, misspelled words, or wrong words used (grown instead of groan) Overall, though I’ve read them all back to back, I never got bored and eagerly jumped into the next. If this author keeps up with what she has going on I see great things in her future. Definitely recommend
Another good one! So far, I am really enjoying this series. May Gordon has managed to have Alpha men, but also feisty strong heroines without making them bitchy. Unfortunately that's kind of rare. I like that Molly was badass without being obnoxious. The family created between all the Kings and their men is really well done. I think Foster is my favorite side character so far. Still less heat than I usually like between the H & h, but it's so good in every other way that I'm okay with it. Definitely recommend.
3 1/2* Molly’s grandfather has decided to get out of the hard business passing things over to Quinn his only speculation is that Molly be his bride. Quinn wasn’t sure what to expect but Molly certainly wasn’t it! Can’t wait for the next books, Red willow & Deep devotion. Although each book is a standalone and has an ending the friends certainly draw you in starting with Dark souls- Lawson & Cleo’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is the second book in this series, and is Molly and Quinn’s story. Molly is the granddaughter of the head of the Irish mob, and he wants to pass on his legacy to Quinn, so an arranged marriage is on the cards. This is a well written story, which has drama, suspense, and instant love. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this engaging story, and look forward to reading more in this series.
Love the insta rimance between these two characters. Molly comes to the states to escape from danger in Ireland. Quinn agrees to an arranged marriage. When things heat up he will do everything to protect his woman.
This second book definitely deserves more then 5 stars. Omg! I love a strong feisty heroine , which is exactly what Molly is and she's the perfect match for Quinn. Amazing Just Amazing!
Second book in one day. Can't wait for another. May Gordon has a great series where both characters are great leaders and are able to work together for the crime family.
OMG there first meet cute was hilarious... What a way to meet your husband for the 1st time. The epilogues were my bread and butter, can’t get enough..... Downloading the next
Another badass coupling from crime king series. Unlike the 1st book, this h was born into royal underworld family; meant to lead and manage right off the bat. The princess had met her equals. Great story of two powerful mob family merged, though not fully, by marriage. A case of arranged marriage turned into passionate real deal. Although there's not much action compared to the 1st book within the series.
