I'm not one of those people who knew from birth she was destined to become a writer. I always loved to read and throughout my childhood I could usually be found with a book in my hands. To the disgust of my friends, I even enjoyed creative writing assignments that made them all groan. But I had other dreams besides writing. I wanted to be an actress or a teacher or a lawyer.
Life took a different turn for me, though, when my mother made me take a journalism elective in high school (thanks, Mom!). I knew the first day that this was where I belonged.
After I graduated from college in journalism, I took a job at the local daily newspaper and I reveled in the challenge and the diversity of it. One day I could be interviewing the latest country music star, the next day I was writing about local motorcycle gangs or interviewing an award-winning scientist.
Through it all -- through the natural progression of my career from reporter to editor -- I wrote stories in my head. Not just any stories, either, but romances, the kind of books I have devoured since junior high school, with tales about real people going through the trials and tribulations of life until they find deep and lasting love.
I had no idea how to put these people on paper, but knew I had to try -- their stories were too compelling for me to ignore. I sold my first book in 1995 and now, more than 30 books later, I've come to love everything about writing, from the click of the computer keys under my fingers to the "that's-it!" feeling I get when a story is flowing.
I write full-time now (well, as full-time as I can manage juggling my kids!) amid the raw beauty of the northern Utah mountains.
Even though I might not have dreamed of being a writer when I was younger, now I simply can't imagine my life any other way.

This is a classic enemies to lovers romance. Seth is a sexy, brooding cowboy whose reputation proceeds him, but is he truly the modern day rake Jenny believes him to be? Throughly enjoyed the stories setting and the romance as Seth comes to the realization that happiness is all around him if he'd open his heart.
This was first published as Dalton's Undoing and rereleased with a free bonus story. The audio did not include A Deal Made In Texas. Thank you HarperAudio for the complimentary audiobook.
I pushed through this one. Seth was sexy & charming. I was completely smitten by him & how good he was with Jenny’s kids. But Jenny’s character really bothered him. She was so damn judge-y and cynical. SETH was too good for her.
Single mother Jenny Boyer is new to the small town of Pine Gulch and has been hired as the school principal. She is worried about her reputation as there are already people in town upset that an outsider was hired. Seth Dalton is known for leaving a trail of broken hearts behind him, and Jenny knows she needs to steer clear of him. Unfortunately, whenever Seth is around, Jenny finds herself falling for him. Seth is kind and gentle, especially to her children, and unbeknownst to her, he is also falling for Jenny.
Snowfall in Cold Creek is part of Cowboys of Cold Creek series and was originally published as Dalton's Undoing back in 2006. This is a classic enemies to lovers romance with a sexy, brooding cowboy with a reputation, and prim and proper school principal, single mother who is afraid to follow her feelings. The interactions between the characters is wonderful. Jenny's rebellious son is a great character. He starts the book of stealing Seth's car, his vintage GTO, and the changes he goes through in the story show what a difference a positive role model can make. I love the paternal side to Seth that he shows whenever he is around Jenny's kids. There is some angst when it comes to Jenny's reluctance to date Seth because of what she perceives her reputation to be all about, but she will eventually come around because it is a romance. I enjoyed this story and will be checking out the other books in this series. This was another relatively quick listen at just under 7 hours, 4. 75 hours at 1.5 speed. Another sweet romance that was a perfect listen in the lead up to the holidays. Stacy Gonzalez does a nice job narrating this story and I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good family story and sweet romance.
This was another fun and short read to get through the holidays.
Seth was a charming and fun cowboy ready for some love y’all. Give the man a chance. He’s not just a heartbreaker. But really, his character ARC was fantastic. So Jenny, girl, give the man a break about his past. Let’s plan his future. 👀
This is a series, and Seth is not the only Dalton brother that has been looking for love. This is book 4 in the series. However, this can be read as a stand alone. Stacy Gonzalez (Duke, Actually) was so good and kept my interest.
While I’m not a major cowboy or bad boy trope person, I did enjoy Stacy’s reading. If you know someone who does love cowboy or bad boy tropes, this is for them! Thank you @harperaudio for the gifted copy. Snowfall in Cold Creek is out now.
A cute, quick happy read. Though I will say Jenny was too judgemental about Seth. He was charming and sincere as hell, plus good with her kids, but all she was worried about was her reputation when it came to him, after proving himself time and time again. In my opinion Seth was too good for her, but in the end, I enjoyed their romance when she finally opened her eyes to see how great of a man he truly was.
Definite 5* for “Snowfall in Cold Creek”, a cute, classic RaeAnne Thayne Cold Creek romance. However, while I’ve enjoyed many of Major’s books, especially the Crimson, Colorado series, I found myself skimming “A Deal Made in Texas” just to finish the book, so 3*. The MFC’s hot and cold angst about the whole fake dating/engagement situation, which she instigated, was tiresome and annoying.
I gave Snowfall in Cold Creek & A Deal Made in Texas five-star rating because both books deserved a five-star eating because they were about family and were very entertaining and fun to read.
Nice story of two people who despite being accomplished and successful have a low opinion of themselves but find positives in each other to find happiness
