A hilarious illustrated meditation on the question that runs through the mind of every woman who cohabitates with--or simply enjoys the company of--the opposite Seriously, WTF is wrong with men?
If you've ever laid awake at night wondering why the man in your life seems physically incapable of moving a two-pound laundry basket 45 degrees in order to accurately deposit a pair of dirty socks (#literallywhy), you'll find succor in this lighthearted--but smart and savvy--collection of all those little stories that women share about their dudes.
From WTFs throughout history (like how Attila the Hun was so in love with his bride-to-be that he felt the need to destroy Italy en route to picking her up), to WTFs at home (Your Husband Put the Baby to What's Wrong with This Picture?), to WTFs in the wild ( A Diagram), Seriously WTF offers a compilation of positively eye-rolling conversations, illustrations, anecdotes, e-mails, text messages, and miscellany that will make women everywhere think, Yup . That .
Jordan Reid grew up in New York City, studied cognitive neuroscience at Harvard University, and worked as an actress for over a decade before turning her focus to her true passions – fashion, beauty, entertaining, home décor, and DIY – by creating the lifestyle website Ramshackle Glam.
Reid has been called “a star of the post-expertise how-to landscape” by The New York Observer, and Ramshackle Glam (www.ramshackleglam.com) has been deemed a “survival guide for those who don’t have a clue how to be domestic” by the Daily Beast. In a feature on Ramshackle Glam, Time Magazine wrote, "Of all the changes wrought by social media, few underscore the reach of the individual like the rise of Reid."
Reid has conceptualized, styled and executed national campaigns for companies including Dove, TJ Maxx, DKNY, Simple Skincare, and Timex, and has appeared in a wide variety of publications and websites, including InStyle, New York Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and The Nest. She has spoken at fashion and beauty events around the country, and hosted two seasons of the Meredith Video Studios-produced home decor show Jordan In The House.
Reid presently lives in New York's Hudson Valley with her husband, son, and two dogs.
Incredible book. This is the only book I read all summer while working with only men at my 8 week summer job in an isolated place and I have never laughed harder. I hate men and this summer did nothing to change that opinion of mine. Thank you to this book for providing me necessary comedic relief and validation for the infuriation and absolute bull shit I was battling. Also I found it outside the one grocery store in town, so it really felt like a sign from the universe.
I received an ARC from Edelweiss, but this does not affect my rating and opinions.
I don’t know what to say. This is hilarious and I get the joke but that doesn’t mean I 100% agree that ALL men are like this. It’s a funny book, no judgments really. It could be something you read when there’s heavy traffic and all.
What I loved about “Seriously WTF Is Wrong With Men” by Jordan Reid with illustrations by Kelly Lasserre: 1) This quick and funny read was inspired by everyday conversations women have about the men in their life. It is hilarious and will also make your blood boil. 2) From terrible online dating encounters to dads who “babysit” their kids - this one has covered all aspects of “what the fuck?!?”. 3) Yes, there are some beautiful shining stars of men who will not fall under the categories of this book but I’ll bet you can identify with at least a handful of the encounters beautifully illustrated in this book! This one would make the perfect gift for any recently single friend who dates men to remind them that there is, indeed, something wrong with men and low key the patriarchy is to blame! 😂 Huge thanks to @tarcherperigee for sending this one!
Then this is the book for you. Take your time. Read a bit; laugh a bit. Repeat. Do not give away or loan this little gem. You'll want to return for more.
An entertaining and humorous book that made me laugh and think. I strongly recommend. Many thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss for this ARC, all opinions are mine
