I loved the first series Marry the Scott but this is the first one I've read in the Wild Scots set of books. I really enjoyed it and the characters are well written. I love how characters from previous books are brought into the story and the whole family dynamics.
I adored Artair (even though I didn't know how to pronounce his name) his struggles with his ma and maggie( not a fan of hers!) I loved how confident and in control he was and how big his heart was. Skye she was hmm ok in book one. I wasn't eagerly awaiting her story. I did find I enjoyed her more in this book, she showed dedication, maturity and I adored her & Artair 's romance! Like in book one you get alpha Scots & the highlands! Oh my messed up, hot, sad Sebastian I am going right to your book! One thing I don't understand in these books... is why each character has a flaw in the way they see themselves? Each one ( minus Lennox) thought poorly, unlovable or thought them unintelligent that they didn't deserve love or could be loved!?!? WTAF? I mean everyone has issues but they are rich, loved, supported and encouraged to achieve what ever their dreams may be! How or Where did these feelings come from or manifest?!? Other than that good reads so far! Free with K.U.
Perfect Storm was more than I expected. Skye and Artair had adult priorities thrown off course by their hookup consequence. Personalities and characters are well developed with professional lives, locale was beautiful, family drama and some action kept it interesting. I cared about what happened to both main characters and felt connected to emotional events
This book isn't talked about ANYWHERE. Which is such a shame! Jolie is an incredible writer, imo!! And this was such a good read. This was my first Jolie Vines book! And I can't wait to read more of her work!
This author knows how to write beautifully a romance with equally strong characters who are able to overcome and solve their problems together without unnecessary dramas. I don't know if I'm the one who is tired of exaggerated clichés and distorted dramas or if it's the authors who are losing sight of what characterizes a true love story. Thankfully, there are authors who don't allow themselves to be contaminated with this crap and remain faithful to their audience and their principles. Like the other books I read by Mrs. Vines, this one has the right dose of anguish, love, action, hoooooooot and a well-crafted plot. Anxiously waiting for Seb's book!😱😱😱 Completely safe and totally recommended!
The blurb of this drew me in. This is a new author for me and I will be looking for more from her in the future. Strong likeable xharacters, plausible storyline, and great chemistry.
I loved that it was set in Scotland, as that is one of my favorite places in the world.I think that is why I fell in love with Artair as he was the perfect Scottish gentleman.
Another love story in the Wild Scots’ series. These are about the kids of the original Scotsmen that we loved. The years have passed and now the children are grown and looking for their true loves. The descriptions of the Scottish Highlands are so vivid, one can almost see themselves in these areas. In this book the author focuses on Skye, the twin sister of Lennox and daughter of Callum. She is pursuing a career in fashion design, specifically wedding gowns. Trying to secure an internship at a prestigious firm in NYC, she goes on a photoshoot with her uncle to a small island off the coast of Scotland.
Once she gets hired, she is ecstatic and has her two-year plan before her. Get established and some experience behind her. Then, when the time is right, she’ll create her own company using her designs. Unfortunately, she has gotten the flu or something and the long hours are making her symptoms worse. Through a chance encounter in a taxi, she befriends an actress who wants one of her gowns. Well, thanks to this actress, she finds out what might be wrong. Whoa, she isn’t ready for this. Her family begs her to come home but she can’t give up on her career.
The angst is very real, and you cry right along with her. This family is so supportive it’s almost unreal, but it makes a really good story. I love these stories, but you’ll have to read for yourself how a one-night stand turned into true love. The ending was cruel, hope book 3 comes out very soon. I’ve again only given it 4 stars due to explicit sex. It’s not needed in these wonderful stories.
Artair and Skye battled obstacles from the moment they connected in Scotland. Their one night stand was fruitful and their family drama and complications were plentiful. Mini love triangles abounded with Skye’s failed but long term relationship with her best friend’s brother, Artair’s uncomfortable dealings with his best friend’s little sister, and Artair’s sister’s relationship with his best friend. Truly not as sordid as that seemed as this was a sweetly romantic contemporary romance that was full of feel good moments. I loved that the author had Skye fly immediately back to Scotland as soon as she found out about her pregnancy. I also loved the way Artair was totally focused on Skye. Easy to follow and written in an upbeat entertaining style. This was an enjoyable romance from start to finish!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Aah, I loved Perfect Storm so much. Vines wrote a hero just for me, it seems (although I feel like I might have to fight for him when others get to know him). This was a sexy, beautiful story. It's atmospheric, set in New York City and the gorgeous Scottish countryside. Definitely my favorite Vines book, and I can't wait to read the next one.
Can't believe I'm saying this but the only problem I had with this book was how all the characters were acting too nice, way too nice for my liking.
Sometimes, nice is good, stable is good but in this case, it really wasn't that to be honest, I was bored half way through. I need more angst and spice!

It was everything and so much more, Art, ugh he had the weight of the world on his shoulders with his family and land but he the way he stepped up and was so ready to be there Skye and their baby bear made him an incredible man. He was ready for his future, I thought I loved Ally as a dad but Artair really blew me away, Jolie really knows how to write some absolute dilfs who are not only alpha but the most fierce, protective and loyal husbands & fathers. I think their story is beautiful, it means so much more that it progressed naturally rather than “doing the right thing because of a baby” I know exactly how it is to fall in love with your baby daddy this way, everything happens for a reason and they were meant to be for sure. “𝐌𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭,” 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝. I read the first 2 books of this series back to back
I loved this book, I really did but I wish we learnt more about Artair's back story, we know his father left and died and his mother is... 🤐🤐 And about his love for star wars
But i wanted to know more. I wish there was more
But all and all he's a man every pregnant woman needs, he cooks, he's caring and he speaks facts 'you wouldn't come all this way if the baby wasn't mine' IS PROBABLY THE SMARTEST THING EVER!
I wish that dumb kid (Finn) got more consequences, and Sebastian 🤦♀️ I'm throwing the whole brother away
I get it, he thought that they'll end up together. BUT COME ON! SHE SAID NO AND HE STILL REFUSES TO BELIEVE SO
I hope He gets his shit together in Lion heart

First, can I just say that Artair has to be one of the sexiest names I've ever heard. Surely it's an ancient name and very popular, but this book is the first I've heard of it.
Artair and Skye seem to make the most perfect and most impossible pairing. Their immediate connection was believable and compelling. Loved Artair's maturity and patience. Loved how Skye's family wrapped themselves around Skye and Artair (and their bairn -- I love that word!) almost immediately.
Artair and Skye’s story was fantastic. The chemistry between the couple was nearly palpable, the issues each of them faced were real and emotional, and the effect their relationship had on their families was profound. I devoured this story from the very first page, completely obsessed. It was beautiful, painful, perfect, and so so so captivating. I laughed out loud. I cried. I covered my mouth with awe. I 100% loved every minute of it.
I Just can't get enough of these books. I love this author and I am loving each family member's story.
I loved Lennox & Isobel's story and was excited for Skye's story once she met Artair in their book.
This book was sweet and romantic and hot. I loved their chemistry and how they fought for each other from the start. And Artair was such a great man. He showed up, whatever he could do. He fought every step of the way for Skye & their baby. There was never any misunderstands between them. They were honest about each others feelings, had a plan, she fought for him and he fought for her. PERFECT!
Skye and Artair’s story was a refreshing one! I loved how open and honest they were from the start! Their story line was easy to fall into and I just loved their dynamic from the start.
This is my first by this author but I definitely want to read more because that little rid bit about Seb has me curious!
I loved the two main characters but also the secondary ones and hope to see them in their own books!
Enjoyed Artair and Skyes story it kept me gripped from start to finish, well written and when describing the Caingorms it's spot on it's such a beautiful place, I've enjoyed all of these books by Jolie, definitely a must read, cannot wait for Sebastian story.
As all the previous books awesome! The descriptions of the land and activities is so good I could picture them. From Skye' s dresses to Arthir's home and adventures. The two of them learn from each and support each other by letting each other and others in. You can't be anything but happy for them.
This is yet another perfectly written story from the wild Scots series. Perfect extention to the original series marry a scot and perfect standalone books
This is a cozy story. It doesn't sound like it will be, and it definitely has smut to it, but it's cozy. This isn't high stakes, even when it tries to convince you it is. It's good for a quiet read when you just want a good romance novel.
There is something magical about a strong, capable, and loving Highlander that makes a lady swoon. Artair is the perfect hero for Skye’s heroine. Their love story is beautiful. And the baby! Eek! Such an amazing book.
This was a good read. Skye and Artair have a night together. She ends up pregnant. This gets them to spend more time together. Of course it doesn't take long for them to fall in love. There are some complications but everything works out for them.
When Jolie Vines announces a new book, it causes me to pause. Can she do it again? Is it possible that this book could be the one that might leave me a little disappointed? I know it’s wrong. I shouldn’t doubt these amazing authors who pour their souls and words into their stories, but there is sometimes a little doubt. And I don’t want it to happen because authors bring so much energy and respite into my life. But it’s always there, sitting in a minuscule part of my mind.
And here’s the reality. Jolie Vines has yet to dissatisfy me. Instead, with her newest book, Perfect Storm, she continues to capture my heart and interest. Just when I think I might question her skill, she shows me easily her amazing skill at writing heroes who grasp my heart and cause me to swoon for their love of the heroine. In every single book, Vines writes the hell out of her heroes. Artair, the hero of Perfect Storm, is no different. As such, I’ve decided to coin a new phrase when referring to a Jolie Vines book: the Vines Hero. This writer is writing heroes who encompass a multitude of traits that lead you confidently and carefully through the joys and tensions of their stories: alpha, compassionate, empathic, masculine, and passionate. In each of her books, you can trust, you believe, that her heroes will lead you out to the most glorious of happy endings.
Perfect Storm is the story of Skye McRae (Callum’s daughter) and Artair (a friend of Skye’s twin, Lennox). In the first book of the Wild Scots series (Lennox’s story), it is clear at their first meeting that Skye and Artair exude powerful chemistry. This story begins several months later when Skye and her uncle, Wasp, travel to Artair’s island in order to take photos for Skye’s portfolio of wedding dresses. Skye is prepared to leave Scotland for New York for an internship that will afford her advantages in setting up her future as a wedding dress designer. Like the first time they met, Skye and Artair’s chemistry is combustible, and they engage in a one-night stand with no promises for the future. Separated the next day, the two go back to their lives, but they think back on the other from time to time. Then, one day, Skye shows up in Scotland with a revelation. Are Artair and Skye destined for each other, or will their dreams and aspirations derail their future?
While a Vines Hero is something special, as evidenced by Artair’s devotion and care of Skye (even when his control is stymied), a Vines Hero cannot illustrate his traits without the force of a heroine. Honestly, the heroines of Vines’s books tend to create the complications for a possible relationship. Skye McRae has aspirations and dreams, and a relationship with Artair seems impossible as they live in different parts of the world. Artair also has challenges that cause difficulties for these two to have a relationship. Yet, even though much of the difficulties between these two reside with Skye’s decisions for her future, she is above all else intelligent, compassionate, capable, insightful, and she is trying to carve out her place in the world. Through her characterization, Vines reminds us that Artair is right in falling for her. She is the type of woman who can bring light and life into his world. Without her, Artair cannot become his best self. In fact, when you read a Vines book, you learn quickly that the hero and heroine are two sides of the same coin. Their struggles are similar, and they work together to resolve them. It’s this revelation in her books that hooks you.
I know what I love the most about Jolie Vines’s storytelling: it is safe even when it doesn’t feel like it. This isn’t to say that she doesn’t create the emotional depth necessary to grab her reader’s souls. It simply means that the strife of the story won’t sink your soul. It tinges it for a bit before it lifts you up in the end. Watching these larger than life, masculine heroes love their heroines to the depths of their beings makes you believe that you can be loved completely. This is the trust I find in Vines’s storytelling. Perfect Storm manifests this beautifully, and it offers a message about our futures: dreams and aspirations are important, but living a life loved should be a part of our future too. Our future can change to include the deepest of love because, in the end, it will make us better people. This is the depth of Jolie Vines’s writing soul in Perfect Storm.
