Purpose Over Possessions: Decluttering Your Life So You Can Live on Purpose

Rate this book
For centuries we have been taught to work harder so we can buy more stuff. We believe the lie that more stuff equals more happiness. But we often don't realize it all comes with a cost: our space, time, energy, and money (S.T.E.M.). Sometimes that cost is worth paying, but more often than not, when the happiness fades the cost far exceeds its value.Jennifer Ford Berry is not a minimalist, but she has learned the way to long-lasting joy. It's a lifestyle encompassed by this very phrase: purpose over possessions. She has developed and taught this approach to living a more meaningful and intentional life with thousands of people over her career as a professional organizer. And now the keys are captured in this book! The question is: are you ready to live life differently? This book empowers you with what Jennifer calls the "P-Principles" that guide you in recognizing and eliminating clutter so you can discover new focus for your God-given purpose. Get rid of the distractions, clear the path of stuff, and experience a guilt-free way of living what God has called you to do. Just like her years of experience, if you apply these principals to your life, you will see tremendous results. Start your journey of decluttering your life, so you can live with purpose over your possessions.

I just finished this book and it was the motivational push I have been needing! As a busy single mama the chapters on time management were inspirational and applicable. I feel like this book gave me the permission to let go of things in every area of my life. If you’re needing that extra push or help you need to read this book!

Didn't want to put this one down! Loved the beautifully written prayers and the concise directions on how to de-clutter not just your home but your mind as well. This book gave me so much to think about I wanted to highlight half of it. I've already started clearing out what no longer serves my family!

I loved Purpose Over Possessions for so many reasons, it was a great read, a relatively easy read - you wanted to keep turning the pages, real life guidance, inspiration, ideas as well as realistic steps to move toward your own personal goals. As I was reading it, and since I completed it, I cannot tell you how many times throughout the day I will start to make a decision, and be brought back to something I read in the book, and look at it from a slightly new perspective. Highly recommend, I will keep it close, (still a fan of real paper books) and refer to inspirational passages as well as actual step by step plans to move toward ultimately finding and living my best life on purpose!

As part of Jennifer’s book launching team I was able to read an advance copy of her newest book. And I was so thankful, because each chapter was inspiring and motivational. While I know Jennifer best for her organizational skills - her deep spiritual connection to everyday life shined brightly in this book. Connecting you to God and letting go of the clutter around you, both in your home & in our heart. A must read for anyone looking for a motivational boost to clear out, move on & look to Him. Great read, I highly recommend! Congratulations on your newest book Jennifer!
