Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with layered plots, lots of action and adventure, and a touch of romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.
Originally from the U.S., Ella currently resides in Switzerland. She is the author of Sorcery and Science, a fantasy adventure series set in a world splintered by magic and technology.
I had high hopes for this story, since I know this author can write amazing books. But this time it felt like the whole book was rushed. I had problems with the timing, like when Cadence finds out that her whole life she has been lied to. She went from crying to immediately sassy and acted like that moment never happened. It was trippy to say the least and it made me feel like I missed something. I did like Damien a lot tho. He was dare I say perfect. Also the plot wasn't so bad, full of action and romance and we also get a scorching scene. So all in all, I liked it but was expecting more. I hope the next book will be a bit more put together.
I have been waiting on the 9th book of the related series for a long time so this was a great diversion. This is the second book in the trilogy about Nero’s parents and I love Cadence. It’s a great series and I look forward to the final book!
Aaaww, definitely better than book one, at least romance-wise! The speeches WERE a bit cheesy but whatever, it was sweet.
Plotwise, honestly, someone has to spell it out for me, there was no "aha-moment", mostly because I have a mind like a sieve and can't remember enough details from Leda and Nero's story to connect everything. Is there even a big revelation (or many) that has a huge significance in the Legion of Angel's current plot? I mean it definitely explains why Nero is well NERO but is there more behind it that I didn't get? Please feel free to chime in anytime, I would love to get some answers lol.
Other than that, I thought some things* got resolved way too easily. The execution gave me a very RUSHED feeling and also made me think they were just thrown in there without careful construction and eye for detail.
This is the second book in the Immortal Legacy trilogy. I really enjoyed the first one, and this one was even better. We are really getting to know more about Damiel and Cadence, their past, and their relationship. In this one, they are going to try and stop the Hive before they decide to take over the Earth like they are trying to do to Nightingale. But things aren’t what they seem, and they must try to fix what’s going on. I just loved the plot of this, and I loved the characters. Damiel and Cadence are wonderful characters, and their relationship is so deep. The end of this book when Cadence finally confronts her father for answers…whoa! I can’t wait for the next book. Highly recommend and I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Saying awww multiple times at the words and actions of a Master Interrogator of the Legion of Angels is not what you would expect to be doing, but I did.
This book goes deeper into the histories of Damiel and Cadence as they work out their new relationship and how to work together as more than just colleagues.
However, the pancake recipe is still missing, maybe I will get lucky in book 3.
I stopped reading at chapter 19, location 2537 of 3120. There's a bit of foreshadowing that annoys me, and the insta-chemistry is also a bit of a turn off. Generally, I love this author and love the series this one spins off of, and I really liked the first book of this series, so I should love this book, but I just don't. Maybe it's all the off-world stuff, maybe that makes it too convoluted. I don't know. Somehow, I just can't bring myself to care enough to finish it.
I love the chemistry and love between the two mc's... this Author can write a salivating romance... its just the rest i wasn't overly keen on, the plots all a bit jumpy and quick.... And the final solution done in a matter of seconds.....
TBH i loved the sister series to this up until about book 4 or 5 then it got very similar to this a bit rushed and all over the place... still a good read on certain aspects
I love this world with the arrogant, "perfect" angels and all they're cool powers and petty squabbles. This was a particularly good installment with Cadence and Damian getting married and getting closer. I love them as a couple.
The Hive is back and this time, they're going to the Hive world. I enjoyed the new location and the angelic adventures.
Book two of the Immortal Legacy series takes us into unknown territory. We are taken to another realm where Cadence and Damien are trying to save the Hive. We get a lot of surprises. Meeting up with old foes, and even friends alike. Who can be trusted?
Cadence and Damien move quickly from scene to scene where their limits are tested. The couple grows closer, so I was excited to see the romance grow. I think Damien's hardened skin is starting to soften.
I did enjoy Angel Fury a bit more than the first book. I think because I was more familiar with the characters now that I knew who was who. There was probably a little bit of "first book syndrome" that I always get at the beginning of a series. Despite reading this series after Legion of Angels, I still felt out of sorts with book one. Angel Fury had me more comfortable with the characters and more involved with the story.
Cadence Lightbringer, daughter of a legendary archangel, has always known her gods-endowed magic comes with a price. As an angel in the Legion of Angels, she lives where the Legion commands her to live, trains how the Legion tells her to train, and marries whom the Legion instructs her to marry. Somehow it all sounded simpler in her head. When Cadence is ordered to marry the enigmatic angel Damiel Dragonsire, a man she hardly knows, her whole perfect, predictable life is turned upside down. The wedding, however, is cut short by a dark threat that throws Cadence and Damiel into a world of magic as ancient and deadly as the original Immortals, powerful deities who once ruled the entire known universe.
Heather's Notes I hate to say it but I don't like these as much as the Legion books. Still it was not a bad book. I can't really tell you what it is about them that doesn't connect. Maybe it is just the characters. That being said, this was still a good book. I liked Damiel and Cadence learning more about one another. Damiel did act like a dick in one part, but Cadence set him straight. I liked Hiro and am sad that he is not in the Legion series. The ending was really cute. I hope we get to see more interaction with Cadence's dad and Damiel.
Once again Ella does an amazing job with on of her books! I can’t sing enough praises about Ella Summers books, specially in this case Legion of Angels and Immortal legacy series.
If you haven’t read book one please read it before going further in the review cause there might be some book 1 spoilers!
This book starts where we left off in the first book Angel Fire, Immortal Legacy. Cadance is ordered to marry Damiel, a man she hardly knows. She has always wanted to marry out of love, not duty. Shortly after they get thrown into more adventures were we as readers will find out even more about magic, Immortals, Immortal weapons, other worlds and most of all Cadance and Daniels history. Finally we get some insight into Damiel Dragonsires past and how/why he joined Legion of Angels. His past, says a lot about how he became the Damiel we see in LoA and in the Immortal Legacy books. I love Damiel and Cadance as a couple! They are sweet, funny and just an awesome power couple.
I truly recommend everyone, specially people who love LoA series to start reading Immortal legacy series ASAP! And if you haven’t read Legion of Angels series, I’m promising you, you won’t regret reading it!
The story picks up a few days after book 1. This book delves deeper into the Backstories of both Cadence and Damiel. Love the dynamic between the two and the feelings they have and how they're trying to deal with each other. Also add in a complicated father relationship and it brings an entertaining dialogue.
The sequel brings back some players from book 1 which I hadn't been expecting and a certain reveal I also hadn't seen coming. Kudos to Ella!
I want to learn more about Jiro, but it also makes me sad as I think he's the friend Damiel had to take with him for the god's test (if you've read the LoA books).
The little quirks like Damiel's pancakes are cute as that's the Damiel we know from LoA. I hope when LoA returns we get a lot more of the Dynamic between Damiel and Cadence.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was nice to see the relationship between Damiel and Cadence grow while learning more about the Immortals & Magic. I'm curious to see what book 3 will show us and where on the timeline it takes place.
Cadence and Damiel are married. Now they need to get to know each other while heading out on another mission together in Venice to find a traitor connected to the demons.
Cadence has set herself another mission: to rehabilitate Damiel from his cold descent into the darkness of his paranoia and in ability to care. They only one he trusts is Cadence. Meanwhile she finds out her life has been a lie.
This is ‘the’ story of Cadence and Damiel romantic connection. Wonderfully, intimate, sensual scenes as they bond to each other.
Fave scenes: Damiel being a unicorn, Cadence fighting the rock monster, Cadence & Damiel being ported to her room and Damiel’s declaration.
A dark threat that throws them into a world of magic as ancient and deadly as the original Immortals, powerful deities who once ruled the entire known universe...
Oh. My. God. My head has finally exploded - all of this chemistry and the evolution of the hero's character = mind blowing. Jesus! This couple together is amazing and the chemistry between them is astounding.
Full of gods, powers, action, adventure, angels, secrecy, surprises, truths, danger and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/urban fantasy.
I like the main Angel series, but this one is hard to like for me. It reads like a bad soap opera. There's no sense of emergency or danger as EVERY event is resolved within a chapter. There are multiple chapters that deal with nothing more than two main characters flirting and seducing each other. Then there will be some problem they need to solve where the problem and the solution occur within a chapter or two. There's no real effort on their part; everything just falls into their laps. I quite literally skimmed maybe 50% of the book because it's full of flirtatious filler.
Yes, the chemistry between Cadence and Damiels is still there. BUT it's one of those books where the heroine suddenly gets second thoughts and she keeps repeating them. All the time. He's a good gut, but he's not. There's something good in him, no there isn't. It feels like an absolutely unnecessary plot element to create a sort of slow-burn-romance. Well, it doesn't work. The story also gets a little bit confusing, but I appreciate the idea (is your enemy really your enemy?) and it gets better toward the end.
Sexy, Romantic & Explosive!!🔥🙏💕💥 (Read using Kindle Unlimited) Angel Fury (Immortal Legacy Book #2)
Wow, this book was even more exciting than book #1.🎉 I don't want to give anything away so all I'll say is that they move forward with their Immortal Legacy & their new marriage!!😉😍 They both face betrayals.😔😱 They manage to make further progress towards each other, physically & emotionally!🔥💘
I absolutely adore this couple now that they're opening up to each other more!💕 I'm so excited to see where the story takes them next!!🙏😍
Okay. There are more betrayals, secrets unearthed, and truths revealed, but apart from Damiel and Cadence growing closer, there seems to be no real rhyme or reason to the other characters. Every one of them has either been a betrayer or an throw away character. Take Cadences BFF Allegra, that short arc just popped up and was dealt with very quickly, and after it was resolved, there was no fallout from it. Done and dusted.
I might pick up book 3 at some stage, but read this for the plot, not the characters.
Ms. Ella Summers does it again with another great story.
Angel Fury picks up where Angel Fire left off with Cadence and Damiel being ordered to marry. I loved how we got to learn about Damiel’s past and why he is the the way he is. We also meet someone close to Damiel. You see Cadence and Damiel’s relationship build.
We also learn more about Cadence and her father’s relationship and we learn about her mother.
The ending was great and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
It’s interesting to learn more of Damiel and Cadence, but I am still wanting my Nero. And I think I have more questions than I am getting answers in this series. I’m trying my best not to start asking too many questions since I’m not going to get any answers for a bit. 😂
I think that someone could completely start with this series without having read the Legion of Angels series. I don’t think there’d be “what?? What??” questions that one could get when starting in the middle of a series.
I'm really enjoying reading Nero's parents story. The background to the legion of angels series. Things are starting to make sense and I can see why these books are important before we carry on, where we left off with Nero and Leda. Candace is quite similar to Leda, I like her alot. Damiel is great with her and they make a formidable pair. Cant wait for the next book, this series is truly great.
In this second book in the trilogy we find Daniel and Cadence getting married and then immediately being sent together on a mission to find a traitor in the Legion and to save the world. We learn more about each of these characteristics and watch them interact with each other. The story is exciting and romantic and flows very well. This is a very easy book to read and enjoy.
I love these Angel series of Ella’s. The creativity she puts into building these worlds is amazing and her stories never drag. Read the Legion of Angels series first as it has more details about each transformation. I’m so bummed Book 3 isn’t out yet and no posted date for release in Amazon to put on a watch list. Hopefully I will remember to look for book 3 in the future.
This one is weird and difficult to define. The first book was SO GOOD but this one fails in comparison, the plot is less interesting and the characters don't really grow or develop that much.
But the thing is that, it's not bad, it's actually pretty decent and good, but because it comes after the first book then it feels lesser than Angel Fire.
I hope the third part of this saga picks up the pace because I really like the story.
In this second book of the trilogy, the trajectory of the relationship between Cadence and Damiel continues in a very tumultuous, but satisfactory way. Together, they face many battles in a variety of settings, all with the goal of keeping the world safe. Throughout their journey, they work hard to get to know one another and what makes the other tick. Overall, this is a good, well-rounded story, with as much emphasis on the battle within as on the battle without.
Fantastic read as always. The book makes me want to rediscover the characters as portrayed in the original series. I am going over to start reading the whole legion of angels series afresh. While I appreciate the strength of the characters in book one, the softness displayed by both leads in book two was getting a bit too much for the rugged angel persona but I still loved them both.
I enjoyed the book - the characters and the storyline are well done. The only thing that threw me off was the words Damiel used when he expressed his feelings, as it came across as quite stiff, and therefore fake. The way he spoke - kind of formal, kind of gushing- just didn’t feel right. Otherwise, I quite enjoyed the book. Looking forward to the next one.
I liked this better than book one. It was funny, sweet, and had a nice mix of action and romance. It's been great to get to know Nero's parents better. And we should see baby Nero in book three! There's been a lot of relevant information revealed about the Immortals. I'm curious to see how it pertains to the plot of the next Legion of Angels book. 4 stars.
