65 million years ago, the world was a very different place. Life was disappearing in the evolutionary blink of an eye, and the rule of the Earth's greatest creatures was coming to an end. Born into such a time, one must learn the laws of a dying world, and find the courage to fight that which rules above all else in the age of extinction. Death reigns supreme, and all must face it eventually. The true question, then, lies in just how one leads their life up to that inevitable end.
Just as a warning, this book can be quite dark. There is a lot of brutal violence, sad scenes, and a very depressing tone overall. However, it is entirely from the perspective of a dinosaur and can be quite interesting at times. The book involves numerous prehistoric creatures, both famous and obscure, and they are generally presented pretty accurately, though they do talk and have human-like minds. The well-known dinosaurs seem like completely different animals from their more traditional depictions, which makes them far more interesting than one would expect. The prehistoric setting is excellently described, though not always accurate, and the story is very interesting and takes quite a few unexpected turns. There are some interesting themes present, and the book can be quite beautiful at times. I would definitely read this if you like dinosaurs, prehistory, or just animals in general. Or maybe you just want a interesting and somewhat disturbing read.
