I wasn't sure what this one involved as I went in a tad blind. Pleased to say this one for me was a hit. Not really a romantic story, what we actually have here is a tale of passionate obsession set in the underbelly of organised crime. Tying into The old and new money trilogies with the Remington family who also feature very briefly here. covetous storyline centres on Willow and Pierce. Willow has had a hard past that has helped shape the woman she is. After a tragedy leaves her alone in the world she is taken in by her previously unknown father who also happens to be a business colleague of Pierce. Pierce is the hand that controls her new world and he has his own personal agenda when it comes to Willow or Rebel as he has nicknamed her. Instead of the collateral damage, she was always meant to be to him Willow becomes a much more important piece in the game and as she gets caught in the crossfire of Pierce's ulterior motives She must attempt to stand strong against her adversary as he slowly drip-feeds her titbits of info and his real agenda gradually starts to emerge. So this is a standalone read told from two POV's Willow and Pierce's. This was hot, hot, hot and there were times when this story reached combustible heat levels. There is everything here you have come to expect from this authors stories. Plenty of dubious consent and morally defunct situations throughout this. Pierce himself is a complete Psycho but that doesn't seem to bother Willow who only seems to want him in some ways more because of this unique aspect of his personal character. These two just fit together like pieces of a puzzle. I really liked the way this one played out and I did enjoy this very much. A thumbs up from me this was a great read. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Covetous.
Covetous (adj): wanting to have something too much, especially something that belongs to someone else. That’s the dictionary definition but at first Willow could be considered anything but. Abused, harassed and literally marked by her sick step father. And when that is finally over, she’s left to tend to her drug-addict sister. When her sister is murdered she goes to live with a man claiming to be her biological father where someone would say she has some reprieve.
Until she’s on the radar of Pierce Serban. A man who by all accounts is considered brilliant, highly successful, a dashing figure, is in fact a killer. Raised in the family of killers and relishing on it. His initial plan was to kill Willow, but that went downhill once he got close to her. He properly kidnaps her, plays mindgames and at some times his behaviour leaves a shitload to be desired, but this is not all there is. As the dirt secrets are being aired Willow finds that there might come a time when Pierce is all she has.
Really enjoyed this book, but what’s wrong with Pierce’s fridge? Seriously gross (you have to read it to understand what I’m talking about)!!!!!!

That was...unexpected. This was something I'm not really use to reading from Natalie. Not in a bad way (see my rating) but...
This is a standalone book in the Old Money universe, not in the series. A certain character from that series makes a cameo but that is just about all you are going to get. You don't have to read that series to read this.
The story was a mindfuck from beginning to end. That was what kept me engaged. I didn't know wtf was going on half the time. Secrets spilling everywhere. I loved the characters. Willow is my bitch. She isn't like the usual heroines who have been her position. She rolls with it. Hell, I would too, if I were her. "You're a really shitty kidnapper. All you give me is cock and food." I mean, what's not to like? Pierce was an arrogant bastard. You know, the kind I always fall for. He's not at the top of fave men Natalie has written. He wasn't harsh enough for my liking. I know...what's wrong with me, right? Eh, I have a type.
This book had most of the things I thrive on in my fave dark reads: deceit, murder, abduction, sexy times ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Here comes the but....it wasn't dark enough for me. I want pitch fucking black, friends. Can't see a fucking thing, bumping into walls and shit, black. I have been spoiled by past books. I can't help it. I like what I like.
It's still a great book, don't get me wrong. I did enjoy it. Fans of Natalie won't be disappointed. And if you are new to her writing, strap in. Once you pick up a book of hers, you'll be hooked.
❤ ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review ❤
This book started with a bang for sure. Like many of Natalie's books this was on the darker side, but certainly not as dark as they come. I was interested in how this would fit into the Remington world (old or new) and it was more on the periphery so you do not have needed to have been introduced to this world before.
Pierce is not a nice man, he has ulterior motives, plans that don't make sense until the very end and a bit of a psychopath. All of this put together makes one hell of lead. He steals the lovely Willow away from her father only to be held by the world's worst kidnapper.
Willow had a terrible upbringing only to be taken in by a father she never knew. She is a bit bold and a bit brazen for her situation which is one of the things I enjoyed about her the most. She takes this puzzle that is her life and makes it somehow manageable.
Trust me there are a lot of twists and turns, confusion, a number of "wait a minute" moments but it all falls together in a messy, f@ck3d up story. It was dark, sexy and convoluted, some of my favorite things. And it certainly has me excited for more of the Remingtons.
Completely addictive!!! I couldn’t put this book down.
From the minute I started I really enjoyed this story of Willow and Pierce it had me from the first page. I really love Willow she doesn’t take s*** from anyone even after the past she had. such a strong female character which I do love.
Full of twists and plenty of hotness these 2 characters are great together I don’t want to go into details of the story as you need to read and live their story along with them. But if you know this authors work you know you are in for one heck of a ride with this book so well written and it will suck you in from the start. I didn’t want this one to end.
“Forbidden fruit or not, he tasted delicious, and I was suddenly starving.”
Covetous by Natalie Bennett is all types of twisted, dark, fucked-up, magnificent, and brilliant in all of the ways! I love the way your mind works, Natalie! 😍
When I first read the blurb, I had NO idea what I was getting myself into when signing up. And then, the book dropped into my Kindle and I was beyond thrilled!
I seriously cannot, CANNOT get enough of her words! This book was not what I was expecting, it was so much more!
Full of secrets, betrayals, deceit, and lies... Covetous is the definition of dark and twisted romance books! Natalie Bennett blew me tf away, as always!
“Willow had a sweet face, the mouth of a sailor, and was stubborn as hell.”
Willow is the type of heroine I love to read! Full of sass, strong willed, and feisty! Enter our hero, Pierce who is the dark knight and bordering psychopathic, I couldn’t help but love our anti-hero/villain! There’s something about the dark aura that surrounded him and absolutely loved it!
“He was so elegantly charming, so flawlessly put together.”
Their push and pull, complex storyline/love story is unlike anything I’ve read before! Trust me when I tell you, their love story doesn’t start off as one, but their connection and chemistry is strong and apparent and something undeniable!
“Pierce Serban had always been forbidden. The seductive villain in all my dirtiest fantasies.”
Bennett keeps you at the edge of your seat with the suspense as you continue to unravel the secrets and lies that Pierce has hidden and won’t exact tell all in one go!
If you’re into love and borderline obsession, insane chemistry, and a book that keeps you guessing... pick up Covetous because it will not disappoint!
When I first received this ARC, I had no clue what to expect just that it’s a stand-alone book.
From the reading of the blurb, I was hooked. You know that feeling you get when you read the first couple of pages and that feeling tells you that this book is going to be fire. This book was unlike anything I was expecting. It was everything and more.
In this book we meet Willow and Pierce, Willow is such a strong and sassy heroine that I became to love instantly. Willow has a dark past. Insert our Dark Horse Pierce. He is your typical villain, boarded line psychopath. His dark, mystery, but his a hot bastard.
Get ready for a ride of secret, lies and betrayal. Pierce and Willow have such a complex storyline and their love story doesn’t start off like regular stories do. These characters have a love to hate relationship.
There are so many twist and turns that you aren’t even prepared for. Natalie definitely likes to keep the suspense real. The chemistry and connection that these two have, you notice from the very first encounters. It just gets hotter and hotter each time these two are together.
Expect the unexpected with this book, all is not what it seems when all is revealed.
I really enjoyed this book. It had the edgy grittiness that I’ve come to expect from this author, along with a slew compelling characters that I want more of, but it also kept me on my toes as I tried to figure out just what the hell was going because the secrets in this one ran rampant!
I really liked Willow and Pierce. Willow is strong, determined and a little impulsive, but she knows what she wants and doesn’t apologize for it. Pierce is a machine. He does what is necessary ~ even if it only makes sense to him ~ and doesn’t apologize for it. And though he is cold and soulless most of the time, he does have enough of a heart to protect those he deems worthy. Their relationship is a bit of a mixed bag of lust, reluctant consent, infatuation and fascination, but within that convoluted mix they fit and I really liked them together.
This was a fun, smexy and gritty read and though dark in certain themes, it wasn’t as bloody or gory as some of the author’s books have been which I didn’t have a problem with at all. It is apart of the Old Money/New Money world, but you don’t need to read Old Money to enjoy Covetous.

A surprise book drop from Natalie yes please. Willow is fiesty and unapologetically confrontational even when she suffers for it. I loved her give no cares personality strong women in books feed my soul. Pierce you'll love or hate him, me the darker he was the more I fell under his spell. Secrets can break you or they can be used for control and Pierce is an arch manipulator. A complex storyline with two characters who love to hate each other. I loved it what's next from this author who cares but count me in.
This author is one of those authors I’ll read whatever she writes without knowing the genre (think she should have her own genre) or reading the blurb. I just need to read her words.
Pierce and Willow are two brilliant characters. I got a feeling some people won’t like Pierce but I did lol
Covetous is another amazing read by Natalie. I know from experience not to start her books unless I’ve the time to read the whole story. As soon as I started I was lost in the words absorbing the storyline.
This was not what I was expecting but I am not saying that as a bad thing. I went into this blind and I am glad I did. What I got from this book was so far from what I honestly thought it was going to be like but it still held Natalie Bennett vibes. It was dark, it was twisted, it was fucked up, to say the least, and those that know me, know I am obsessed with all things dark and twisted.
In Covetous, you have Willow. She was AMAZING. She was the type of heroine you can't help but love.. She was witty, she was sassy, fierce, and strong. Her character jumped out at me so much.
Add in Pierce, the hero/anti-hero, I mean to me he's an anti-hero, but others he may not be. He was a little crazy, he was borderline psychopathic and I fucking loved it. I love a dark and messed up man and he was just that, he did some pretty questionable things throughout the book that had my jaw hitting the floor.
Pierce and Willow together, or more to the point their strung out, push and pull relationship was insane. It was complex, it was different, it was beyond intense. In the beginning, I could not for the life of me see any way these two would even be together. It didn't start off as a love story, it was so far from a love story, but the way the author weaved her words together and through us through twists and turns that ultimately landed us reading these two come together, but in the most insane and darkish ways.
I really don't know what else to say, and I hope that I am making ANY sense... Because my mind is still blown and I finished this a few days ago, I actually took the time to process everything that happened in this book before I review.
I loved it. Completely and utterly fucked me up, fucked my mind up. It was mind-fuckinly beautiful and I couldn't put it down!
I highly recommend this book. Seriously. I can't recommend it enough!
Okaay soo this was a surprise from Natalie and I can’t wait to dive in!! Natalie is definitely feeding my obsession with killers *in books* gahh her killers are freaking irresistible and i may or may not be drooling over them. I can’t get over how good this is right now Willow and Pierce keep dancing around each other and then BAM! He want all psycho possessive asshole on her 😂
Holy shittttt halfway through the book and things just got crazy! Turn of events that i did not see coming! I’m literally sucked into it right now gahh Pierce you asshole! Pierce and willow’s relationship are off the charts psychotic crazy but it’s oh so damn good!
Ooo I absolutely loved the appearance of some of the old money trilogy characters (also if you guys haven’t read the old money trilogy by natalie yet you guys totally should! The first book is called Queen of Diamonds)
This book literally had me on the edge of my seat with all the lies and betrayals and all the twists and turns! This book was freaking amazing and i loved it! Natalie’s writing is freaking awesome and I’m never disappointed whenever i pick up one of her books! This definitely deserves a 5⭐️ and I totally recommend!!
OMG!! This book! This fucking book was beyond magnificent 😭🔥
I didn’t know what to expect! I’m a lover of all things dark! This book was bittersweet and I love every page of it!
It is filled with secrets, deceit, betrayal and passion so much passion!
Our hero Pierce is all kinds of messed up and he doesn’t apologize for it! He doesn’t hide his true colors from Willow! He has many secrets and plays with her emotions so easily but everything he does he does it for a reason. He is very calculating and IMO the hottest anti-hero ever.
Our heroine Willow! Her circumstances are sad! She’s been used and abused! Still she’s strong and mouthy and gives her hero hell. I quite enjoyed her feistiness and her rebel ways!
The chemistry between the MC’s is fire and the slow buildup from enemies to lovers what insane and I loved it.
I urge anyone that lives twisted romance to read this epic book! It was more than what I was expecting!! I am utterly obsessed now!
A very intriguing read. It starts with Willow as a child. Losing her family, she was taken in by her real father, Seth and finds out she has a half sister, Abbi. They became firm friends.
As the years went on she become very attracted by her father's business partner, Pierce. She knew that he was a dangerous man but couldn't help herself when she followed him into his office. The story line gets a little bizarre from here but written very well. The author has a great knack of only giving you so much information that it keeps you wanting to read on, very much like poor Willow she was only fed little bits of information.
I really enjoyed this book, but when reading keep your wits about you as it gets a little confusing at the end.
This was a addictive fast paced standalone novel that takes place in the Old Money trilogy and can be read without reading that series.
This book was so twisted and dark and was everything you come to expect from Natalie Bennett! Pierce was such a asshole at first but the more I kept reading the more I fell in love with him and Willow was sassy and fierce but also still naive and innocent in some ways and I absolutely fell in love with her from the start ! All the secrets and lies and drama and the obsessive lust between Pierce and Willow holy shit your in for one hell of a ride with this book! Definite 5 stars and I definitely recommend especially if you like your books about dark twisted alpha hole killers and the women that brings them to their knees than this is your jam it sure is mine ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥🔥😈😈😈🖤🖤🖤
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book
From the very first sentcence in this book I knew it was going to be deep and twisted and I knew it was a winner right away.
Willow's life is just a big mess from the beginning, always taken advantage of, abused, neglected, left to fight for herself and she really does throughout the story you see the fire in her soul just get bigger and be a badass.
Pierce has his own demons, he deals with his on major BS and once that you think you figure him out he does anothe major, twisted F up.
Their story definitely sucks you in, In so many ways you'll feel like "every answer bring more questions". It really push the limits and it is definitely not for everyone but yet again that is Natalie Bennet's signature style.
Damn Natalie Bennett this book was all kinds of mindfu*ks and I loved it!!! Pierce was such a Ruthless Asshole he drove me crazy with some of the stuff he did I wanted to throat punch him myself a couple of time. But I kinda loved him at the same time. Williow is so fiery and sassy most people in her situation would of been a mess she took it like a badass. So many lies and secrets going on with them. They had like a love hate relationship going on between them for awhile but in the end I really loved them together Highly recommend this book also super excited about New Money Trilogy.

"This was the consequence for consuming something forbidden. He was my consequence."
I got an ARC copy of the book OMG talk about mind fuck and hot sex. I love Willow she fits the name rebel that Pierce gives her so well. She takes no shit and has and mouth like a sailor. What can I say about Pierce Serbans other then he has demons and he gets his way. You really have to read the story to understand it b/c I thought it was going one way then it ended totally different. That is why I love Natalie's writing. You can't get enough.

This is one twisted, dark, dirty romance and I loved every filthy, steamy word of it. Natalie Bennett has a way of twisting you up and pulling you into the story. Which keeps you guessing, ready to pull your hair out and begging for more with the turn of every page. This is an intensely dark, wonderful read and I highly recommend it!
Gotta say when I read this book last night, it was bearable. However when I continued to pick it up this evening, I just couldn't get into it... As in it was horrible. Definitely not a favourite by Natalie Bennett.
I like this book. I do. Truly. However I found a bit unrealistic, in the sense that Willow is the daughter of this tough crime boss guy basically, owns strip club, does illegal things, kills people etc. , and yet she legit doesn't have any security, she isn't taught how to protect herself and when kidnapped, her father rules out Pierce and his brother (ILLOGICAL). I mean this guy is supposed to be a tip top criminal (Thus should be thorough and suppperrrr vigilant). Pierce has apparently tried to kill him before and failed this indicates his pretty smart, and his on top of his game and yet he let's his two daughters (whom he claimed he would never cocoon them from the life he leads, thus exposing them to some pretty messed up stuff, yet he can't come to the obvious conclusion that he should at least give them the means to protect themselves when push comes to shove???) roam unprotected. This really pissed me off. It was way to easy to kidnap her. I get her being kidnapped is a large part of the storyline but can we reach that part realistically??. I won't lie. I barely got passed this part of the story. It just really turned me off. I'm a sucker for detail. PS. I know this is fiction and I don't expect it to be super accurate about the inner workings of the the crime world.

The blurb is as twisted as the book and doesn’t really let you know what you are getting yourself into with this story. Even after finishing the book there are a few areas that I’m not sure I fully followed. It was dark, but not quite as dark as her other works. This was more suspense and twists. Willow & Pierce. I’m not even sure what to say that won’t spoil it. Willow has had a difficult past, but once she is in the crosshairs of Pierce things take another turn for sure. He has his own agenda with her, but at the same time she gets under his skin like no one before her has. The early copy had a few confusing points and I’m hopeful the final book was cleaned up just a bit more to allow the story to be followed a bit easier. A good suspense read.
“I was: a game piece placed on a warped, twisted board. There were no wrong moves to be made when the man at my side knew exactly where to place me.”
A very dark, fast paced read with shocking secrets. Pierce is a psychopath anti-hero in organized crime who plans for Willow to be his pawn. Willow grew up in the same dark world and although she knows to keep her distance from Pierce she can’t.
Both are headstrong and the banter of love/ hate will give you whiplash. The shocking twists and turns are layered throughout the story and will keep you in suspense.
I remember reading Old Money and getting a taste of Mateo. Now, I got a taste of the dark and twisted Pierce. He made me feel all the things. I loved his type of crazy. I was wondering what woman could handle his crazy or mindf*ckness. It was Willow. Nobody but headstrong Willow. She was a woman that could dish it as well as take. Willow got knocked down many times over but she won't be broken for a man. Can't wait to delve into New Money.
A standalone novel that takes place in the Old Money trilogy. You can read this story without having read that series.
After reading I am still not sure if I like pierce as a character or not. he has his moments, but then I hated him for treated Willow as he did and all the secrets he kept.
Willow was a strong and entertaining characters. I enjoyed her a lot.
The story itself is complex with a lot of twists and turns.
