Capelle's Play Your Best Straight Pool is one of his series of Play Your Best books, all of which are outstanding. This one is no exception. With a complete coverage of the game and all its nuance, Capelle has created a classic, by far the best book on the game.

If you play straight pool, or want to, you need to buy this book, study it deeply and practice what you learn. Remember: "To learn and not to do is not to learn". If you do, you'll know more than your opponents, have a better understanding of what to do and why at every turn, and enjoy the game more and more as your skill increases.

I've read quite a number of book on pool and this one is near the top of the list. It's chock full of accurate diagrams and explains not just what to do and how to do it, but tells you when and why as well.

I've read it twice now and I'll be coming back for more as I expect to see things that went over my head or I undervalued the significance of the first two times. Five well earned stars.
