His uncle has been kidnapped. A shadowy government agency is torturing cryptids in his city. His Sanctuary has been revoked from the one place he could drink safely. There's a medusa at the mall. A fairy princess might have just summoned an Old One in a public park.
Quincy Harker really wishes he'd just stayed in Memphis.
But he didn't. He came home to find out that a secret government agency has gone rogue and kidnapped Luke, along with literally dozens of other cryptids, faeries, lycanthropes, and monsters. Now, Harker and his crew have to rescue Luke and take down a massive government conspiracy while keeping escaped monsters from destroying Charlotte!
There are times in a person's life when they know that nothing will ever be the same. This is one of those times. This is Quincy Harker's inflection point.
John G. Hartness is a teller of tales, a righter of wrong, defender of ladies’ virtues, and some people call him Maurice, for he speaks of the pompatus of love.
He is also the award-winning author of the urban fantasy series The Black Knight Chronicles (Bell Bridge Books), the Bubba the Monster Hunter comedic horror series, the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter dark fantasy series, and many other projects.
In 2016, John teamed up with a pair of other publishing industry ne’er-do-wells and founded Falstaff Books, a small press dedicated to publishing the best of genre fictions “misfit toys.” In his copious free time John enjoys long walks on the beach, rescuing kittens from trees and playing Magic: the Gathering.

"Inflection point" is a mathematical term for when the graph changes direction. It is also likely a song - Mr. Hartness likes song titles - and I went searching and there were several songs by this title. I'm going to stick with the mathematical term.
Inflection point where Quincy Harker stops running away from love and its potential loss and accepts Becks. We will see if this sticks - Quincy has had a long history of painful loss, so wincing away from the potential pain is deeply engrained in his personality and may not be removable no matter how much he loves Rebecca.
Inflection point in the change of government relations with the paranormal world. Up until now governmental policy has been hiding the paranormal from the greater community. It's seemed to have changed to eliminate everyone everywhere. Not the best public relation choice, but genocide has always been preferable and more effective in the long run than hiding the truth on a government scale. Not that I think Quincy Harker and the greater Shadow Council is going to take this change in tactics laying down. Many of the Council members were shaped by times of war - they can slip back to being the monsters of the dark facing off against the monsters in the light if they have to.
Inflection point of rescuing Luke. Whether what is rescued is sane enough to function is a different inflection point. Could Quincy put down Dracula if he had to?
Inflection point of demons and angels as allies and enemies, and things that they love, and things that they fight ... together.
Lots of things happening in this story. The new style of full novels instead of novellas hasn't slowed down the fights per word at all. Or profanity. Or found-family.
Action-packed, Inflection Point does not turn around what you expect from Quincy Harker Demon Hunter. Monsters, Mayhem, and Magic Maxed-out.
Non-stop is the best way to describe this latest entry in the Quincy Harker series. It was so action packed MY heart was racing as if I were part of the fighting! Great story telling yet again and clearly Mr. Hartness does his research on mythical beings; I’m constantly googling new magical/mythical beings I’ve never heard of. He describes Charleston so well and vivid I feel as though I can see the city with my own eyes. He (thankfully) breaks the mold and doesn’t leave his readers with a ridiculous cliffhanger; great storytellers don’t need those to inject hype into the next novel in my opinion. This novel ends well, and also gives a hint at Quincy and the gang’s next mission, which should be full of monsters, cursing, binge-drinking, and good old fashioned butt-kicking only a man like The Reaper can dish out!
I will admit that the series number - book 6 - confused me a bit until I realized it was BOOK 6 and not #6 and then it made sense! And.....then I read the blurp on GoodReads and it spelled it out....I don't read those for any Quincy Harker books, because I know that I will read them regardless of the storyline!! :-)
I love this series! I love the snark and humor plus the whole realm of supernatural beings that you encounter in these books.
This book has all kinds of things going on - don't blink or you will miss something! Quincy, Becks and Glory along with some other friends have a lot on their plates as they try to find Luke after he was kidnapped.
Quincy Harker is the all time best of the bad ass tough guys. His posse is made up of only the coolest, toughest bunch of brave men, women and closely related other species who fight for all the good folks of Earth, no matter what they are. As long as you love your momma, believe in "live and let live," and always eat your vegetables you too can be part of Quincy Harker's tough guy crew. So, stand up with Quincy as he hunts demons and protects the good monsters who roam the earth. Good monsters like Tim the friendly Big Foot and Uncle Luke the first vampire.
Hartness has created one of my favorite characters. Quincy Harker is a profane bad-ass. If I were ever in trouble, I would sure want him on my side. In this book he is out to find and save his uncle--Count Dracula himself. It was a nonstop action ride. Lots of snark. Lots of killing bad guys. Very cathartic. If it sounds interesting, go back and start the series from the beginning. It will help this book make more sense. Than again, Hartness is a good enough writer that if you wanted to start here, you wouldn't be lost.
What I love about the Harker books is how I can totally get behind supporting a demon, vampire, and biker chick/guardian angel all at the same time. Weirdest bunch of monster fighting Scoobies ever but what fun to inhabit their world for awhile. The gang is off to save Sasquatch, Uncle Luke (aka Dracula) and other off the grid supernaturals from an obscure and evil agency. Quincy and Flynn are reunited and kicking butt! Best book yet!!!
Quincy Harker is 1 of my all time favorite characters. This book was crazy, funny and as always brutal, everything I love about the tales of Harker. Harker's brutality, always comes from a place of compassion and empathy for others, even if John G. Hardness, writes Harker, like he doesn't realize it. Hardness is an excellent writer, whose unafraid to have diversity in his cast of characters.
INFLECTION POINT is the follow up to the soft reboot of the Quincy Harker series after the main plot ended. It introduces the corruption of government agency DEMON who now wants to exterminate all supernatural beings in the world. We get the kidnapping of Dracula ("Luke") that makes the story feel like it has its stakes raised. I always love Fantastic Racism stories and these qualities are brought up. I had a problem with how easily Quincy and his girlfriend reconcilled but whatcha gonna do.
Always fun with another installment of the vulgar demon hunting nephew of Dracula. This time the government's division of Demon has kidnapped Dracula a.k.a. Uncle Luke and lots of butt kicking and magic destruction results. Expect fun without a lot of deep meaning. A quick listen by and excellent narrator.
So I had to jump back because I forgot all about this book when I picked up Conspiracy Theory. There were things in the first two chapters of Conspiracy Theory that I didn't remember, and the book didn't jive with how I remember the last book ending! So, I'm glad I went back, and can put the pieces together, but I'm ready to read Conspiracy Theory now! Good stuff! I'm looking forward to it!
This book really went through the ringer. Quincy Harker and his band of men and women really dove head first into a mess here. It picks up where the last book ended looking for Luke and then continues as dangers rampage the city. There are many revelations brought to light and the team gets ready to save the world again in the next book.
This book hits all of my favorite things: gritty urban fantasy, pages of action and good guys (or mostly good guys) delivering damage to the bad guys, and lots of humor and snark. The only disappointing thing is having to wait for the next Quincy Harker book to come out...
Quincy Harker has reunited with the gang, as they come under threat from DEMON. Cross over story, but sadly no Bubba!! Good book as usual, as Quincy is pushed to his limits as he tries to get Luke back and find out who is behind the threat.
Quincy has more snark than any other lead character that i can think of. He's so funny, annoying and utterly loveable (don't Tell him) the whole series has been good and this last was one of the best. Thoroughly recommend.
John G Hartness has created another excellent , exciting, action filled episode in the life of Quincy Harker, demon hunter. Unique characters, imaginative plots, and very fast pacing makes a hard to put down book.
The main character has worn out his welcome. Hopefully he will be sidelined for the vastly more interesting supporting characters. The character's need to be the biggest jerk every where he goes makes me root against him.
I finished this book in 3 days I couldn't put it down, John hartness you are a wise story teller that always surprises me with every page turn and new book. Once you start these books it will change you
This is not a good place to start reading Quincy Harker. The characters are great, but there is so much history, it was hard to get a solid feel for them. Still a fun novel, but I definitely need to start at the beginning of the series.
While Harker was dealing with the events of the previous book, someone has snatched his uncle in Charlotte. This leads to a bunch of bad stuff. As per usual the book is visceral, violent and humorous.
Love this series! Quincy, Beck, Glory and Jo make an amazing team. Fighting the supernatural and human bad guys keep them busy. Lots of snark and action!
And kicking butt. I just never get tired of this world. And, I can’t wait for the next book. Great, snarky characters and a plot line that keeps me guessing.
In this book Luke has been kidnapped, the Shadow government is torturing Cryptids, Quincy’s “Sanctuary” has been revoked, the only place he could drink in peace, there’s a Medusa in the Mall and a Fairy Princess may have just summoned an Old One at the park. This will be a busy book!
No real romance and the F-bomb was used 249 times.
This is another outstanding piece by Hartness. Every subsequent Harker novel gets that much better. He brings more of Harker's past into play in a very organic way and ties it to a corrupt government agency as well as tying into his other series "Bubba The Monster Hunter". You can tell that Hartness is building to something huge with this book and I for one cannot wait to see what happens next.
