Size Matters

Rate this book
Allie McPherson has a secret she’s been hiding for the past four years: she killed a man in cold blood. Beat him to death with a tree branch after he threatened to rape her. But what started as self-defense became problematic for two reasons. First, she killed Robert Sims after he’d been rendered completely defenseless. And second, she inadvertently left her fingerprints at the scene. Allie is young, beautiful, the smartest person in any room. But she’s also been diagnosed as clinically insane. As her past catches up with her and her marriage starts to crumble, Allie is determined to survive at all costs. Size Matters is a taut, compelling novel that teaches us never to underestimate a woman with nothing to lose.

PRELIMINARY REVIEWS:

“Size Matters is so full of twists and turns and surprises I couldn’t have flipped the pages faster if you paid me! This novel surprised and delighted and kept me shaking my head time and again. Fans of Donovan Creed should be aware that he and Callie make a brief appearance that furthers their saga.”

“‘I’ve done bad things,’ says Allie McPherson, ‘but that doesn’t make me a bad person.’ Well, that’s one opinion!”

“This book is crazy! There are twists and turns on virtually every page! While I consider myself an expert on Locke novels, I have to admit he took me on a wild ride that made me guess wrong every single time.”

“Size Matters is a cross between Alfred Hitchcock and Quentin Tarantino. From start to finish I was shocked, surprised, and hopelessly entertained.”

A crazy ride!

A crazy book about a crazy woman. I have to give John Locke kudos for having a crazy good imagination. It was a nice surprise to have Donovan Creed show up in a guest appearance. Mr. Locke never ceases to amaze me with his writing skills and the many different genres he writes in. He is the best!

When reading John Locke, it’s best to not start unless you have enough time set aside to finish it in one go. There’s just no putting them down.

Allie is a crazy ass psychopath, and ridiculously intelligent. Only she loses time and sometimes she can’t tell reality from made up events in her head. This can be a problem when you think you’re imagining murdering someone in your mind, only to come to in the middle of the exact act you were daydreaming about. What’s real and what’s in your head?!

I used to love John Locke books. Fun reads. His new books are all about sexual deviants and murderers. A little of that goes a long way but Locke seems to be totally focused on it. Maybe he needs some psych help. This book is no different. The police seem to be so stupid that they can't figure out the main female character is killing people all over the place even though she is "f---ing" two or three men who are central characters before she kills them and saws one up with a chain saw. Sick mind working here. No more John Locke for me and I am not a prude.

F***d up beyond belief but I couldn't put it down.

I love John lockes twisted mind and the way he develops a storyline. I have given up trying to figure out where the story is going because I am wrong every time. Enough sex to satisfy my thirst and justify my own thoughts as well!?
Depraved minds must think alike. Keep writing John. I'm yours forever!!!

Well, THAT was something

I have to give this book 5 stars because it was nuts and confusing and completely off the rails and then... cameo appearances of my favorite John Locke characters!

Didn’t help

I have a number of John Locke books and always wondered how come he writes so fast without writing a bad novel. Well guess what this is a bad novel. No depth, no characterisation and a ridiculous plot. The good news is that it only took me 3 days to waste my time. Sorry John, slow down and make me a follower again.

Too much

Too much fun - again!
I’ve read them all and I loved them all. The word play - the twists and turns - the never really knowing what is going on up ahead - the humor is frig’n one of a kind - every one and each one is SO different but also familiar, like that slightly ‘touched’ crazy favorite uncle that comes over for thanksgiving every year and you just can’t wait to sit down with him, have a beer and listen to his tales.
I couldn’t wait until it was over to see what the hell was going on but I was sad when it finally was.
Mr. Locke is brilliant.
I can’t wait until the next one (yeah, I’m greedy).

Typical Awesome John Locke

Just love John's totally crazy, weird, psychotic, sexual and gripping stories! I am never disappointed with what he writes. I have read all his books and he has never failed to deliver. Be warned though, his books are not for the faint of heart, I coaxed my wife to read some of his "tamer" works and she said, "WTF is up with that guy"? I just told her he's an acquired taste, and I love the flavor.

It might be my imagination, but this was a wonderful read. The John Locke of old. The story is full of interesting characters, plot twist, laughs and more. Once I started the book I had to finish, that's definitely a sign of a good read. Not going to give a spoiler, but Lockites will smile as the story comes to and end.

Does It?

Another John Locke novel. The star of this one is Allie McPherson, a drop dead gorgeous housewife, who has trouble telling what's real and what isn't. Is she really hooking up with her husband's boss? His mistress? And his lawyer? Read it, and find out
You'll be glad you did.

I have read every John Locke book and enjoy all the different series (Dani Ripper, Emmett Love, Creed, etc), but I do especially enjoy when he does a random stand-alone book once in a while. Something totally new, and this book fills the bill. Very well done. Great dialogue.

Another typical John Locke fun read. I like to breakup the heavy, deep, dark psychological thriller genre' that I usually enjoy, with the occasional light, funny, stupid fantasy. John Locke never disappoints. The guy has a great imagination. Keep them coming, Mr. Locke.

This was a good and quick read. They always seem to mix into the Creed series. Either way, as a collective this is a great spin off. Something is always happening and keeps you reading and entertained.
