New Hope Falls #1

A Love So Real

Rate this book

Arianna Carrington-Harder is on the run from the disastrous outcome of a bad decision. Driving aimlessly along the west coast, she’s drawn to the small town of New Hope Falls in Washington State and soon finds herself in a place unlike anywhere she’s been before.

Welcome to the fictional town of New Hope Falls!

A sanctuary for those needing refuge.

A beacon for those who are lost.

A place for the hurting to call home.

Come for a visit and fall in love with New Hope Falls and its residents, both old and new.

As a social media influencer, Arianna is used to the internet world. She has millions of followers on YouTube and Instagram, and her career depends on her good reputation. Unfortunately, one bad decision has repercussions that could negatively affect everything she’s worked hard to build. Needing time to think and consider her next move, away from the pressures of her world, she flees LA in search of clarity and peace.

Fall may be a beautiful time in New Hope Falls, but for Elijah McNamara, it brings back a lot of bad memories. In the midst of dealing with those, a breath of fresh air appears at the small resort his family owns, distracting him from the memories and making him feel things he hasn’t felt in a very long time…if ever.

They come from completely different worlds and are each deeply entrenched in those lives, but it doesn’t stop the feelings they have for each from growing. However, Eli’s past is resurfacing, causing him to consider what his presence in Arianna’s life might mean to her career. Could he withstand the spotlight if someone chose to shine it on him because of Arianna’s career? Because of how she lives her life in front of a camera for all the world to see?

As the past reaches into the present, it becomes clear that someone wants Arianna gone from New Hope Falls. Can Arianna and Eli find a way to bring their worlds together in spite of it all? Or is Arianna destined to leave the sanctuary of hope and peace she’s found to return to the life she left behind in LA.

Disappointing

I love this author and have read a great majority of her books. This book is the first time I've felt disappointed in her writing. She spends literally fifty percent of the book laying out a setting and plot. Very little time is given to the dynamics of a relationship between the two main characters. That character development is so lacking that the relationship comes across as sterile, unreal, and, almost, selfish. There were times when Jordan could have really taken the time to develop those main characters but she just didn't. It's so uncharacteristic of her writing that it left me wondering if she was actually the author. By the end of the book I was angry that I had wasted my time with it. I will not be reading the rest in the series and will think twice before picking a new book of hers.

Sadly, I was not impressed with this book or author. I wanted to like the story but the plodding writing style overshadowed everything. I could not believe how much effort was spent on scene setting. As another review stated, the whole story could have fit in two chapters. I kept reading because I wanted the answer to the mystery but that wasn’t even resolved. I really don’t like writing negative reviews, however, I’m sorry that I wasted time on this book.

3.5 Stars!

A good start to a new series by Kimberly Rae Jordan.

I enjoyed both of the main characters personal journeys through their individual challenges. I found the media influencer lifestyle intriguing.

The secondary character Leah was definitely my favourite character and I can not wait to read her story. Book 7 seriously that’s a long wait!

My only frustration was there was a lot of descriptive paragraphs and my personal preference is more interaction. However the bonus with lots of detail is that the settings and scenes are brought to life in your mind. I know it’s fictional but who wouldn’t want to visit New Hope falls?

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of series in the near future and finding out what has happened to poor Shelia!

Enjoyable read about a young social media influencer whose online presence blew up in her face. Some interesting things to consider in today's world. She finds acceptance and family in a small town where she is willing to give of herself to help another family. I found the story line refreshing. It's clean, has Christian values around marriage, and is well told.

Mixed feelings

When I first started reading this story I was intrigued. Anna is a mystery. Coming from a highly visible world in L A, she is presented totally opposite of what I expected. There is scandal in her life and she falls for a man with scandal in his. Good set up for a really good story. But- that’s pretty much we’re the story stays. It was repetitive, went no where; had no peaks and no conclusion. All of the characters were interesting and had potential to be involved in the scandals, but they weren’t. They were like decorations with no purpose. While I am a sucker for happily ever after, this story left way too many unfinished factor s The entire story would have fit in 2 chapters. Very disappointing

Eli and anna

A interesting storyline in a small town.I expected to see shelia show up after it was over the internet about him possibly killing her.you would think she would want to stick up for her childhood friend.shelia hated the town it's not shocking she left.(maybe shelias story is in another book witness protection or something)

I struggled with this book, and I think part of it was because the opening chapter set me up to believe that Sheila's disappearance was going to play a larger role in this story. From the set up, I thought the notes on Arianna's car were going to be linked to Sheila's disappearance, and there was going to be more of a suspenseful element to the story.

Sadly, the only tension in this book was the stuff I made up in my mind. I lost count of the amount of times, dread formed in the pit of my stomach, where I thought Anna was heading into danger, and Eli was about to be framed again, only to be disappointed when nothing happened.

This is the first book by Kimberly Rae Jordan I’ve read, but it won’t be my last. She is an excellent writer who has obviously done her research. I don’t read a lot of contemporary fiction, and I’m “of an age” that technology and social media aren’t a big part of my life, so I was concerned about being able to relate to Arianna who is a social media influencer, a foreign concept to me. I needn’t have worried. Both Arianna and Eli are deeply complex characters mature for their ages because of their experiences. I loved Eli’s family, even “prickly pear” Leah, that is so different from Arianna’s, but just what she needs to heal. I live in a small town, and the author does a great job of capturing what life is like. I laughed, sighed, and cried. An excellent book you won’t want to miss.

I would rate this book at 4.5. It started a bit to slow and took me a while to really get into the story, but once it got started, it moved along nicely.

The little town and its residents were interesting and I look forward to learning more about them. Arianna had a very interesting and modern career and certainly introduced us to a whole new concept of earning money in this modern social media world. It would be rather amusing to say my job is a vlogger - at first I thought it was a typo. I loved the character, Eli and his family were great too.

Overall, an interesting and well done story involving a very modern career choice.

Really good

I love how Anna becomes a part of it all. She really does throw her whole self into every life and business she Encounters. Elizabeth is the more quiet achiever. They are all so gifted!
Not impressed with Anna's management team!!! I struggle with manipulative controllers! Loved Leah!!! So just "in your face" real.
Liked how it revealed who vandalised her car. Not keen on having unresolved mystery still, but i guess that encourages you to read the whole series? Do you finally find out the answer to the underlying mystery????
I received this as an complimentary copy. Enjoyed it very much!!!

drew me in then left me flat

I was drawn into this book like I haven’t been in a while. Page after page I was eating it up! I expected *SPOILER ALERT* the ending to be better…. It just ended. With all the talk about the fire I thought for sure maybe the cabin would catch on fire and Eli would save her or something else like someone tried to kidnap here. There was SO MUCH ROOM to end with a heroic moment but also even if there wasn’t one it was just like and the end. I guess I wanted more out of the ending. The Sheila disappearance and everything this could have been perfect and instead and left me flat.

A good start to the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This book explains the social media in a way that we can understand in the present world which is full of influencers and content. Though it looks glamorous, it does have its pitfalls.

The town of New Hope is definitely something that is enjoyable. Even though there aren't that many characters that come in this book, I am more thrilled to see them in the coming books.

One thing that surprised me in this book is the single thin line of a disappearance of a girl. I am waiting to see how that unfolds.

This is one of the best small town novels I have read in a long time!...very very well written with a bit of mystery along with the romance... won't give anything away, except to say WOW ,this author was spot on with the story... GOOD to know that this is a series, and hope the rest are as good as this one...one thing I really liked is the author didn't jump years ahead in the epilogue, gave just enough info, tied it into the present story, but clearly left room for continuing in future books, not really a cliffhanger.

Take me to New Hope please!

This was my first book by the author. I had no clue what to expect. I was very much pleasantly surprised. The characters so much depth. I could see myself in the town with each page I read. I adored all the characters. The book was filled with so much love, faith, hope, forgiveness and compassion. This was a gem. I’m looking forward to finishing the series.

How Can Love Survive?

I found Anna and Eli's story very engaging. Their families and upbringing were as different as night and day. The scandalous circumstances bringing Anna to New Hope Falls was curious to say the least. As Eli gets to know Anna better, his old secrets are revealed. Can their growing attraction to one another make it through all the problems attached to their lives.

This was a wonderful story.

I did not truly understand some parts of the story at the beginning since I do not know much about social media. But I love the people I met. The personal struggles they found themselves in and how they handle them were inspiring. Thanks a great storyline.

A Love So Real

I liked this story. It talked about social media and how it affected Anna’s life. Anna made money from her videos but as in all things there were problems.. she decided to leave LA and travel for a quieter place. New Hope Falls was drawing her to stop there. She met Eli and his family. Really great adventure. You will enjoy this one.

This is my first book from this author and I found it boring, poorly written and filled with unnecessary repetitions. I kept waiting for the plot to thicken but to no avail. The characters were quite unrealistic and lacked chemistry. I can’t recommend this book to anyone and I don’t think I will be reading anymore books from this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The first in the New Hope Falls series, you will be meeting quite a few residents while delving into Anna's story. She is running away from a scandal and feels led to come here to get away from LA. A great read

I really did enjoy reading "A Love So Real" by Kimberly Rae Jordan.
It was a very interesting book. I was also a teen before cell phones and internet. So I found that part of the story interesting.

When two who are worlds apart, but meant to be, meet

She's rich, popular to extreme, and having trouble with an agreement gone wrong, stalker style. He was accused of having something to do with an ex-girlfriend leaving and never being heard from again. A cold case. How to go on when life sends you "curve balls". Highly recommended for all readers.

A Love So Real

I really enjoyed this book so much. This was a very wholesome story that draws your attention right away and the story develops into a mysterious stalker and an old missing persons investigation and a beautiful romance blooms. I'm glad I chose this book so much. Enjoy

I enjoyed Anna and Eli's story. Anna needs a break when her social media presence blows up and she's caught in a scandal. She ends up in New Hope Falls, where she meets Eli who has a scandal of his own. A Love So Real is a wholesome Christian read with a great cast of characters and an investigation that continues into book 2.

A Love So Real

This is my first book by this author, and I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. How a you tube star winds up leaving LA and landing in a small Washington town is the beginning of a lovely love story with Christian principals.

Great story

What a great beginning to a series. New Hope Falls reminds me of a typical small town in that everyone knows everyone and more importantly their business. The real question is... What happened to Sheila?

Good read, Love these CHRISTIAN NOVELS.

I enjoyed this book, being somewhat familiar with the tube video's group made it even more interesting. I liked the idea of a broken family pulling together after the father left to make their life's work.

It’s a Good Story and It Allows for Hope

There’s a lot of narration in this text as opposed to dialogue. It leaves you full of hope, however. It shows that despite their differences, two people can come together, and it shows how GOD works in their lives.
