His television work includes series such as Babylon 5, Young Justice, Ben 10: Alien Force and Nickelodeon's Space Cases, which he co-created with Bill Mumy. David often jokingly described his occupation as "Writer of Stuff", and he was noted for his prolific writing, characterized by its mingling of real-world issues with humor and references to popular culture, as well as elements of metafiction and self-reference. David earned multiple awards for his work, including a 1992 Eisner Award, a 1993 Wizard Fan Award, a 1996 Haxtur Award, a 2007 Julie Award and a 2011 GLAAD Media Award.
The story of the first human to 'bond' with the symbiote that became Venom is told - and it's not who you think it is. Peter David does a great job of setting in motion all future symbiote stories by showing us how this poor 'Babbitt' is caught in a web of horror he can't escape from - highly recommended.
I liked how the used that old story bit form that old spider-man comic. I actually read that too just can’t remember when or where. Anyway, good one shot. I enjoyed the appearance of the White Rabbit and the spin/connection to did with the judge.
It's too early to predict how this will pay off, but if every issues is like this, combined by fantastic artwork, it's gonna be a blast! Peter David is one of the few writers at Marvel currently who knows what he is doing.
It was ok. A nice idea about bringing to the surface something insignificant that happened decades ago and to build a story from that one incident but it was just that, an ok story with nice artwork.
I confess I originally picked up this issue purely for the banging cover art. Luckily it meant I had it around to read when I decided to start on Absolute Carnage. An interesting catch up with one of the many people who have originally worn the venom symbiote.
Oh, and that banging cover, it has nothing really to do with the contents at all. But it's still great.
