It should have been so simple. So clear. One at the top, three beneath him. But nothing is clear anymore. After two years living their lives together, Alexander White has become distant and withdrawn, his mind a turmoil of unanswered questions, and the other three are broken because of it. Lost and left wanting. Well, two are. Lilah James doesn’t give a damn, other than ensuring Pascal Van Der Braack is adequately provided for. Unfortunately, he’s not being looked after at all, which means chaos and mischief could ensue at any given moment. Always worrisome. And when a rather royal problem comes to tarnish the already broken, something that none of them know how to deal with, whatever structure they had is suddenly unable to carry on. Becoming a four in love brought its own battles. Staying as four might break them all.
Hailing from the depths of the quiet British countryside, Charlotte likes nothing better than sinking into her characters dark and devious world's. Sometimes they're kinky, sometimes they're twisted, and sometimes they're a serious hold on tight situation, but her stories are always filled with romance and love in some form.
Lilah, Pascal, Beth and Alex are back with more debauched antics and I for one couldn't wait to experience more mischief and mayhem as we get to experience the upcoming events this time told from all four pov's. So this is a continuation of the original series set roughly two years down the line. For full appreciation here you really do need to start this journey with the White Trilogy followed by the VDB Trilogy: then this, The Crossover Duet completes the set. So here Alex is unravelling and whatever is causing him to feel this way is having a knock-on effect ricocheting down the line affecting all in this unusual quad in some form or other. Beth feels unloved, Pascal feels Ignored and Lilah well her priority is always going to be Pascal. As for Alex whos does he turn to when hes the top, the one usually in charge. Alex is suffering and in true form, that means he behaves like a dolt to all around him. But all this is thrown to one side when events conspire that send Pascal racing home to claim his birthright. There is no rule book in this particular series so its best you just go with the flow here. This is as usual decadently dirty and anything goes The characters in this series are some of my most favourite too date, Totally flawed, kinky as hades and completely unpredictable. As usual, this one was another bumpy ride and I am now looking forward to part two. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Check (Crossover Duet, #1).
I have had the honour of reading an ARC copy of this book.
Pre warning ⚠️ You do need to read The White Trilogy and then VDB Trilogy first (which are amazing)
Do you like kink? Do you like depravity? Do you love a fantastic storyline?
Then you will love this!!
I first fell in love with Alex White, then I got to know Pascal better and developed a perverted crush on him 😂 (I also sort of want to be Lilah)
So I was so excited to find out that Alex, Beth, Pascal and Lilah we’re coming back for this crossover series, where we get a 4 person perspective, which I love!
This is a few years down the line for the four of them and something is not right with Alex, which has a knock on effect for all of them, especially Pascal who reverts back to his old ways (hooray! There is nothing better than a deviant, dominant Pascal). The storyline is once again great, with a few twists I wasn’t expecting. But be warned this book ends with a cliffhanger!
I absolutely LOVE this author because she calls to the twisted, kinky deviant inside of me, and this book has not disappointed!!!
Thank you Charlotte E Hart for giving me more of these character 🖤
How could I not give this 5 stars? This is the 7th book recounting the ever changing relationships between these four characters and it is no less of a roller coaster than any of the others previous to it. Check has everything you would expect from Charlotte E Hart. There's wit, romance, dirty hot sex, emotions galore, danger, depravity, kink, brooding hot men, feisty sexy women and the ever present heartbreak. This story is told by all 4 characters, which you would think would be confusing but actually she has done a grand job of just making the story roll along, as if it was all one voice. There's no confusion about who feels what or says what or does what but every character has their own very clear, very loud voice.
The coming together of these 4 characters and their subsequent trials and tribulations has been expertly portrayed by Ms Hart. The way they have each found their niche in the quartet combined with how they support, encourage and worship each other makes the drama we see unravelling all the more powerful.
Brilliant words, great read. Mate is shaping up to be a humdinger of a finale...although, I'm not sure these 4 will ever have a typical happy ending!
This book was deliciously erotic, well written, and such a different story than i have read before. The 4 characters - Alexander (The hot head) - Pacel (The educator) - Elizabeth - (The crybaby) - And last but not least my favorite Liliah (The one who keeps it real) they were some of the best characters I have ever read about. All of them were crazy and deranged in there own ways. The story line is not the usual erotic story where the dominate has a submissive and she falls in love with him and he doesn't fall in love with her until later on in the story. This story was nothing like that and that is what made it so good. It was fresh, it was explicit, it was a great beginning to the Crossover duet series. Yes people it does end on a cliffhanger so unfortunately we will have to wait until book #2 comes out. I hope we dont have to wait for long. But in the meantime I recommend this to my lovers of the sub/dom genre, to my lovers of good sex scenes, for the ones looking for something different to read, and who likes a good love story. You will find all of that in this book. (MM - MF -FF) Happy Reading!!!!
I can see why these characters wouldn't let the author rest. Everyone of them is worth one's attention and quite honestly won't shut the he%% up with all their narcissism. Elizabeth brings about the air in which they all need to breathe, to feel, to hope for something more. Lilah manages the daily dull drums keeping business going, while juggling the intuitive pull from all of them. She knows what they need before they do. Problem is her heart belongs to only Pascal. Alexander is the boy behind the beast. He is lost without a compass in Check and nothing is right in his world without her. Pascal needs both control and care, of which he has been without for too long. He, too is lost and bored and cannot be left alone. What lies ahead for our foursome is beyond our wildest imagination. Ms. Hart gives the POV from each character as they navigate through despair, anger, pain, jealousy, lust, and love.
Ah, Pascal is back! His world is a bit out of his control at the moment. Lilah, Elizabeth and dear Alexander are not the same after two years of their unique relationships. Alexander is not himself, leaving Beth and Pascal questioning what is happening in their own way. The perspective from each character’s POV makes it even more intriguing. You have to have read the other books in the series (The White Trilogy & The VDB Trilogy) to fully understand the deep connections these people have to each other. These rivers run deep. And kinky. And hotter than the sun. Not for the faint of heart as there are some serious levels of depravity going on. Stellar writing again from Charlotte E. Hart, who has made me so happy with this new duet.
VDB has a way with words, and has me hooked from the first chapter. I can't get enough of his speech. And Lilah with her retorts, seems made for him.
Alex is at it yet again. How he gets so stuck in his head all he does is think of himself. He should be there for Beth, but instead he has to sit and go through his own shit. Beth almost seems like she's outside the circle, with her poor understanding of how everything and everyone works.
And now I'm sitting here, wanting. Wanting more, needing more. Can't wait for the follow up, to come....
Charlotte Hart did it , she did it, the book that many of us have been waiting for the crossover with the White trilogy and the VDB trilogy. A few years on and our fantastic four are back and all together things are not right with one of the four, and this effects the others. I am not going to give anything away what so ever. The book contains kinky sex, romance and complete with twists. The book its self written with all four characters POV, which I really enjoyed. This is a fantastic read and Charlotte Hart at her best, here's waiting for book two. Fully deserved five stars.
I think my Kindle just burst into flames!!! I could not wait to get my greedy little hands on this book. Pascal is like no other and he makes all these books so good.
We catch up with these depraved and delicious characters. Pascal is of course irresistible, Alex is an ass, Lilah the bitch/kickass woman and sweet Elizabeth. Alex is all over the place and needs his sinful Pascal to put him in his place. The book can get a little rough but you need to take a deep breath and go down that crazy rabbit hole that is Pascal and Alex.
Lions, tigers and bears oh my! Well it's Pascal, Alexander, Elizabeth and Lilah! Check is written from all 4 points of view, love hearing their voices. Inbetween the pages you'll find wit, intrigue, devious plans, emotions that run the gamut, control and the loss of it. And as always there is plenty of hot, steamy and sadistic kink. Your panties will combust 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Looking forward for the next book, hoping against hope it's not the end of their stories.
It was great to find out what was going on with these insane 4 again mind you it’s still a depraved and fucked up Read more so in my opinion lol ......I love them all anyway and I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!!!
One word ......Alex!! Hmmmm! Lol
Thank you again Charlotte for another great, dirty, crazy and at times comical read!
Love, kink, despair, solidarity and a cross over of all four points of view make this another five star plus read. You must have read both series beforehand to enjoy this book but they are totally worth it!
The game is certainly afoot. Another positively enchanting tale from Charlotte, full of mischief and fuckery. A definite must read from four POV's. I loved it and couldn't put it down. The White series and VDB series must be read before reading Check to get a full understanding of the book.
I feel sightly let down due to the gratuitous sex but am hopefully the next book will be different. I have utter respect for the author and hope her vision allows Beth to truly grow a backbone and the story line moves forward
This is a amazing read that is full of twists and darkness that will have you needing more of this story. This is a must read series that will have you loving this story. This is more then 5 stars but will have to read the series’s yourself to know what I’m talking about.
I am absolutely loving this duet. It must be said that readers will need to read both The White and VDB trilogies before starting Check in order to fully understand the history surrounding the four individuals who have leading roles in this duet. Once you have finished Check there is a second book titled Mate which I believe will conclude the series, and although I’m excited to discover what happens next, I’m rather dreading saying goodbye to Alex, Pascal, Beth and Lilah.
Check has been an incredible story to read. The book has been perfectly penned giving us all four character's perspectives. Seeing how their complex lives have progressed since the conclusion of the VDB trilogy has been intriguing, insightful and quite unexpected too.
I adore Alexander White. Even when I despise him, I can’t help but love him too. I totally understand Beth’s current feelings towards the man and I am looking forward to seeing how that particular storyline unfolds. I cannot deny that have a girl crush on Lilah…. she’s amazing!!
As always there is lots going on with all the leading characters in this series, and I’ve loved witnessing every moment - even though there have been times when my heart has hurt.
Charlotte E. Hart never disappoints! I thoroughly enjoy reading her words. Check has everything I come to expect from a novel written by this author – kink, intrigue, passion, love, secrets, truths, pain and angst. I highly recommend this book to you to read, but please start this series at the very beginning which is the novel titled Seeing White.
I guess I was waiting for this book because I needed to know how they would handle their relationships .
After reading this book ,I got the moments I imagined, debauchery but also the unexpected moments- lines being broken which was expected . The author was right in thinking that the characters needed this book because I knew when they ended it ,it would not be the last one.. I being not from a devastating or debauched background will always side with Elizabeth and I may be / will be weak(((( And not the weak as all the readers with their comments or reviews have been implying))) also as she is in that world ,but I don't care.I will always root for her ( normal;but also somewhat twisted, wicked but also committed).I guess I m conservative even after reading so many different dark, taboo books . Maybe the next book will shape her character into the three of them and I will be disappointed as hell and also will be okay with that because as authors say that the characters and the story was inching that particular way .
This series has invoked every emotion my soul has ever experienced, from heat throughout my body to shedding tears. I’m waiting patiently for the next book “Mate”! The whole series is worth your time if you just need to get away from daily activities but be aware you won’t be able to stop reading!
Rarely do you find an author that is gifted enough to write from four POVs and manage to be completely faithful to each individual's personality and voice. Charlotte Hart is one of those writers. I absolutely love this series. Alexander White is one of my favorite characters of all time. I simply can't get enough of that gorgeous, twisted, son of a bi... Then add in the rest of the wonderfully colorful characters and you have the ultimate dark, dirty, dramatic read. There is nothing missing from this book! It's filthy perfection!!
I couldn't stop reading thus book! It made me angry the entire book. These dark and unique characters are all very selfish and sometimes cruel to no end except Elizabeth. This is a well written book. I'm hooked and can't wait for the next one.
