The electrifying new urban fantasy series continues, filled with monsters, mayhem, and high-flying martial arts action.
I'm Marcus Aries, and as the duly-appointed guardian of the Hawaiian Islands, I’ve had my share of bad run-ins with the world of the supernatural.
I’ve taken on demonic frogs, island witches, lightning wolves, and even battled before the famed night marchers.
But not every run-in is a life-and-death struggle that threatens to leave the island in ruins.
Step back into the world of Hawaiian urban fantasy with this collection of short stories from author Justin Herzog, starring fan-favorite hero Marcus Aries as he and his friends battle Hawaii’s supernatural threats.
Deep Waters is the third novel in a brand new urban fantasy series set on the islands of Hawaii. With plenty of supernatural goodness and high-flying martial arts action, the series will appeal to fans of Seanan Mcguire, Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Patricia Briggs, and Benedict Jacka.
A native Floridian whose resume includes everything from police officer to personal trainer, Justin Herzog fell in love with books from an early age and turned to writing as a career because anything else would have been unthinkable. He is married and currently lives with his wife in Orlando, Florida. They have one dog. He can reached at jherzogwriting@gmail.com or https://www.justinherzog.com
Got to admit was not expecting this to be a book full of shorter stories filling us in on the goings on in Marcus’ life in between the main books. Normally I am not a massive fan of shorter stories but each and every one of these added a great deal to the series and gave us an insight to some of the characters that there wasn’t time for in the main books. Introducing some great new characters ( here’s looking at you Anthony) as well showing us more depth from some of the people we have seen in the previous books.
Was a nice touch adding the authors notes in the foreword of each story. And I really appreciated the authors notes at the end stating that book 4 is definitely on its way as I had been wondering throughout the series if it was being continued.
Thoroughly enjoyable read and looking forward to book 4.
