Here With Me

Sawyer LaGrange.
He’s my best friend’s older brother.
He’s quiet, brooding, sinfully sexy ...
Dark hair, a scruffy square jaw, and deep lines of muscle I trace my fingers along slowly, followed by my lips…
He always does what’s right.
Until me…
They say you get in life what you have the courage to ask for.
Well, I’m brave.
And I want him.

Secrets.
Everybody has them.
Big, small, innocent… forbidden.
Mindy was a line I should never have crossed.
But I did.
She was beautiful… sassy and tempting,
And rules were made to be broken.
We broke them all.

Now I’m home, released from service with hidden scars.
Now my secrets are the demons that grow stronger every day.
I try to send her away, but I can’t let her go.
She’s my reason to fight, and I’ll walk through hell to be the man she deserves.
To give her a reason to stay here with me.

(HERE WITH ME is a STAND-ALONE best friend’s older brother, second-chance, military romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Here with Me had me feeling EVERYTHING! This book brings the emotions, the romance, the steam, the swoon and the laughs.

Mindy and Sawyer have known each other since they were young children. They grew up near each other. Mindy is Sawyer’s little sisters’ best friend, the girl who was with him the moment his entire life changed. His anchor. Sawyer experienced something traumatic in the marines. Something he never got over but more pushed to the back of his mind, however, events like that don’t stay hidden for long. These two characters have experienced pain and loss both together and separately. They have relied on each other when times are rough, but are they both willing to admit how deep their true feelings go?

Mindy and Sawyer had INSANE amounts of chemistry from the moment the moment they were children. However, Sawyer always pushed Mindy away because of the age difference. However, he was only able to resist her for so long. As they got older the chemistry grew hotter. I loved how sweet their relationship is and how much they supported each other. Sawyer knew when a day was hard for Mindy and vice versa.

I completely fell in love with this story. I love every single character, the peach orchard and all the feelings I experienced while reading. Here with Me quickly become one of my favorite books from Tia. This is a MUST READ and a TOP READ of 2020.

This was my Tia Louise book and I am hooked on her capital R-Romantic style of writing. Here With Me is an absolutely beautiful friends-to-lovers romance with hints of the military, small-town living, and emotional trauma. Louise has an effortless world-building style that feels like you are watching a movie the whole time you are reading. Her characters are relatable, well developed, and overall good-hearted which I thoroughly enjoyed! I didn't realize how much other writers lean on constant angst from a "bad guy/gal" and how exhausting it can get. With Tia Louise, you get real emotions, real love, real struggles from people who are giving, thoughtful, healthy individuals who may be fighting their own demons but they don't take it out on everyone around them. I am so excited to have found Louise and would definitely recommend this book!

Here With Me is a beautiful, stand alone, best friend’s brother romance by Tia Louise. Every time I read one of Tia’s books, I am reminded of how beautifully she writes. Every one of her books sweeps me away, this one included.

This is Sawyer LaGrange’s story. Sawyer is the oldest of the LaGrange siblings. Tia’s last book, Stay With Me, focused on his younger sister Noel. The three LaGrange siblings run their peach orchard, one hundred acres of peach trees. Sawyer always dreamed of traveling the world but his life changed when he was sixteen years old and he became primary caregiver to his two younger siblings. That was also the day an unbreakable bond formed between he and his little sister’s best friend who was five years younger than him. She was by his side at his darkest hour giving him her support.

peach orchard - Google Search

Melinda (Mindy) Ray has been best friends with Noel LeGrange since they were children. She has also been in love with Noel’s brother, Sawyer, for just as long. As they grew older, Sawyer did everything in his power to draw the line between them, even though she knew he didn’t want to. But when he was getting ready to leave for the Marines, he finally gave in. She knew she would wait for him to come back, she would wait forever. But the man that returned was not the same man that left.

“She calms the storm in my mind. She soothes the beast raging in my chest.”

HEY moon, don't you go down.

Sawyer might not have scars on the outside, but they lurk within him. He’s able to keep them locked up by working hard in the peach orchard, constantly staying busy. He’s tried everything to keep his distance from Mindy even though his body yearns for her. He can’t stay away any longer and they finally decide to give things a chance. But those demons are still within him, just waiting to escape.

“The music of her soothed me.”

I loved this story so much. There was no doubt of the love between Mindy and Sawyer. But Mindy had put her life on hold for so many years waiting for him. And Sawyer had so many demons to battle before he could be the man he wanted to be for Mindy. This is their story, their battle to make both their own dreams come true, and the dreams they might share with each other as well. Tia has once again managed to weave a beautiful story of love, loss and determination. The next book will focus on Mindy’s friend, Deacon, who did so much for her in this book. I can’t wait.

“I’ll hold you in the light. I’ll never let you walk alone.”

“She calms the storm in my mind. She soothes the beast raging in my chest.”

First loves and best friend’s brothers. I love these troupes. This can be read as a stand-alone story, but if you’ve read some of Tia Louise’s other books, you’ll recognize Sawyer and Mindy.

Mindy has loved Sawyer since she was a teenager. He’s her best friends older brother and even though they have an attraction, she’s a little too young for him. Until she’s not. Shortly after they get together, he goes into the service. Sawyer comes back, but he’s not the same man he once was. He is in some ways, but other ways, he’s changed.

A lot of this story is about Sawyer’s demons and the steps he takes to get himself together. Also, it’s about Mindy’s growth and getting her life together. Though we got some romance and a ton of steam, I do wish we would have had more of the couple together in the present as a couple.

Here With Me is narrated by Patrick Zeller and Emma Wilder. They both do a fantastic job voicing Sawyer and Mindy. I’ve enjoyed listening to all of these books in audio. Tia Louise always writes great emotional and steamy reads. This one seemed heavier on the steam than some of her others.

If you’re looking for a sweet and sexy read that is also emotional and deep, and you love a best friend’s brother story, I recommend checking this one out!

Sigh! I loved this book. A sweet love story! A perfect love story! Books like this one are why romance is my favorite genre.
Tia Louise gave me a story with some of my favorite elements. Second chance at a first young love, a bit forbidden best friends brother, military, small town and more. This book had it all. A bit of angst to keep me turning pages and screaming WHY at the author.
But just as she always does I get a perfect HEA from this author.
I finished reading, wiped my happy tears, hugged my Kindle and Sighed!

Sigh...
This is another perfect second chance romance from Ms. Louise.

Sawyer and Mindy... what a couple!
Their love began way back when they were children and grew stronger and stronger as time went on. Life throws an abundance of obstacles out of left field in their path and they struggle and fight to keep up and get over the bumps in the road until they just can't fight anymore ...

The plot is twisted, full of ups and downs, back and forth, and at some points I had to stop reading and digest the events in the story. My emotions were running riot, switching between happiness and crying ugly tears in a flash, and sometimes I just wanted to yell at the author for putting her protagonists through so much ...

This story is intense, emotional, twisted and one of the best I've read this year so far.

Oh how I love this series. Yes, they are stand alones, but my favorite characters pop in and out and I don't want to let them go. Tia did it again in Here With me, giving me Sawyer and Mindy to wrap my heart around. I swooned, cried, and cheered for these two. The characters were so true, I feel as though they are my best friends and I don't want these books to end! Please tell me there are more.
I was one hundred percent in at page one and I'm still thinking about it, after I hit the end. If you love a great romance that delivers all the feels, then read this one. You'll have a book hangover for days.

Here With Me is a second chance romance that follows Sawyer and his sister's best friend, Mindy. When they were younger they shared a definite connection, but Sawyer was too busy growing up way too young and taking care of his family, then leaving for the military, to make any permanent promises to Mindy. That didn't stop Mindy from waiting for Sawyer for years, and now that he's back home, she's ready to make him a bigger part of her life.

I loved Sawyer and Mindy so much! Their story starts off super sweet and I was instantly enthralled by their characters. But then as I was reading on and we got to dig deeper into their characters it was obvious that they had a lot more than just a cute, simple romance. Sawyer was still struggling a lot even though he didn't want to admit that, and Mindy had big life decisions that she needed to make. It was really fun to see that they were able to help each other, even if it meant pushing each other away. I think that's what I loved about them the most, they gave each other the strength to help themselves instead of one character taking over and "fixing" the other. It made their romance even more amazing to see that they were each strong in their own way.

Overall, this is a definite must read and I recommend it to anyone. It can be read as a standalone but for fans of Tia Louise you'll get to see some past characters appearances.

This author has a way of incorporating so many emotions into her stories-and this is what I love the most about her books. We get the angst, we get the chemistry, charm, and the laughs that are just not comparable. I’ve definitely had this book on my mind for quite some time-Sawyer is someone we see and hear about in Tia’s other books, so always wanting to get his story is something that is true. This author did not disappoint. I was totally enthralled with the whole world-and was so happy to see other characters we’ve met before weaves through the story.
This story deals with so many important issues-and I’m just amazed at how sophisticated and genuine this author portrayed them. Mindy and Sawyer were a couple I definitely won’t forget-Mindy was just someone I’d forever want to be friends with. Such an amazing story!

Dear Lawd why oh why did the brilliant Tia Louise do this emotional damage to me?! This story, OH MY HELL, this story totally wrecked me, and yet, I couldn't look away for anything. Sawyer has always dreamed of traveling the world, but when tragedy struck, he was left to take care of his younger siblings since he was the oldest. On the flip side, he & his little sister's best friend formed a bond that would last through years. She's quite a bit younger than him, so it wasn't anything romantic back in those days. Finally, Sawyer was able to travel the world as a Marine, but he came home broken, while Mindy was trying to achieve her dreams which would have her leaving the place they all grew up at. These two had some serious chemistry when they were adults, and it was only getting hotter. However, the push & pull was totally frustrating as these two tried to come into their own before tackling what was growing romantically between them, and not only did hit keep me crazy, but hit me hard in the feels as well. And that's all from me, now it's your turn to get wrecked by hitting those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

4.5 The Love Was Always Real Stars
* * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Tia Louise has this ability to write sincerely, from the heart and it always rings true. Part of the reason for this sense is the truth behind her words and the stories she tells. Ms. Louise has a very long history of presenting realistic characters who have been in the service. She has the ability to draw the reader in highlighting the severe conditions these brave men and women may have as unwanted war souvenirs be shown how difficult they are. She will couple all of these challenges with couples that will make your heart sing.

Here With Me is another wonder. This takes us back to the family peach orchard where Noel, Leon, and Sawyer grew up.
They started out as this sweet grower's family, part of the farming community, and knowing they were loved.

Sawyer was the eldest, had a strong relationship with his parents, and also had a desire to travel and see the world. He would spend happy times with his friends and all was good...Until it wasn't. Life decided to throw some ugly curves and Sawyer became a sixteen-year-old man in an instant.

Mindy lived not far from Sawyer's family and Noel was her best friend. She was about 6 years younger than Sawyer but that did not stop her little heart from beating faster when he was around. On that fateful day, Mindy was upset because she was experiencing a Mean Girl Moment. Sawyer saw her by the side of the road, sad and forlorn, and stopped his truck. He listened to her questions about why girls can be so cruel and gave her the truth...that she was going to be beautiful and they were jealous.

It was the bonding moment between Sawyer and Mindy. She was there giving her strength to him during his difficult moment. Mindy proved to him through the years she was there for him over and over again. Sawyer was there for her too but he also fought the need he had for her. He knew she was not meant to be stuck in a small town without a way for her to display her artwork and talent. Sawyer was not going to hold her back. He cared about her more than that.

Time passes and Sawyer goes into the service with his best friend. Both came back with demons, but one of these men learned how to handle them and found love. Sawyer had love in his heart but his demons told him to keep away from the only one he wanted, Mindy.

This is a multi-layered tale. You have the signature crafting and storytelling Ms. Louise is known for...you will want both of these people together. They don't just go through the motions and then poof, hea. Instead, you have an arc of what our Sawyer needs to handle and what Mindy decides what she willing to accept and what she won't.

I liked it wasn't easy. I liked these two needed to work out who they were alone and then together. And...I loved it when they came together...as young love, again after a taste of the world. The chemistry felt real.

All of the families are there and a hint of another character who will have his story told at some time...whenever Ms. Louise gets to it I am there.

My poor heart doesn't know how to handle all these angsty emotions in Here With Me by Tia Louise. It made me cry. It made me deliriously happy. It made me swoon and sigh like crazy. Tia Louise broke me and healed me with her amazing words in this unforgettable second-chance small town romance!

Sawyer and Mindy has shared a special bond forged through some most difficult times in their lives. But the trauma and horror of military life has changed him. He is hiding his nightmares and he is suppressing everything to take care of their family peach farm. Mindy is the light of his life. She is always there for him through thick and thin. But what will happen when the past rears it's ugly head? Can he be the man Mindy deserves? Can Mindy keep on pushing while Sawyer refuses to open up and hurt her almost beyond redemption?

Tia Louise can make me feel the pain like a pro. She can also make me feel dizzy with pleasure and warmth. She tackled both extremes so well. The heartbreak and the sweetness. The tears and the laughter. The overwhelming and suffocating loneliness balanced with healing touch of love and care. Sawyer's jagged edges cut me wide open. He is a great man. Protective. Caring. Loyal. Dedicated. Honourable. Sexy. Swoony. Honest. But he also has demons in dark corners of his tortured mind. And my heart broke a thousand times for his struggle. Mindy is a force to be reckoned with. She is a bright splash of colour on an empty canvas. This girl has the biggest heart ever! She cares for Sawyer even through all the heartache! She gave every thing she had and I love her strength. I adore her for trying and succeeding in making her dreams come true. Be it her love. Be it her career. She is the sweetest but also the strongest. Their chemistry set my kindle on fire. They have this intense and soul deep connection that has my heart completely. They had some difficult times but they found their way back to each other. Monsters were slain. Love conquered all.

Tia Louise is the queen of second chance romance and Here With Me proved that beyond any doubt. Her words are priceless gems. She created this enthralling story of love, loss and redemption that left me breathless and mesmerised.

Oh my gosh! This was such a deeply beautiful, emotion filled story of first love and second chances. I absolutely loved Sawyer and Mindy. They were meant for each other from the moment Mindy took Sawyer’s hand in hers at one of the darkest moments of his life. From that point onward she loved him but their road to happy ever after was laced with a bit of push and pull as they each struggled to fulfill their dreams while ensuring the other had what they needed to find true happiness.

From the first page I was hooked even as I was once more struck with how this author is able to pull me into her characters’ world and make me fall in love with her heroes and heroines as well as her writing. With Sawyer’s peach orchid as the background, I felt as though I was lifted outside of my own troubles and placed into a rich and vibrant world where I could almost smell the fruit.

Each new hero by Ms. Louise always seems to be my new favorite and Sawyer has certainly earned a rightful place on my list.

Sawyer LeGrange’s world was turned upside down at the age of sixteen, but he’s always tried to do the right thing. He’s the oldest son of the family where they own and operate the biggest peach orchard in North Louisiana. Over the years he’s had a lot of responsibilities, but him and his siblings have done whatever it takes to keep the LeGrange Orchard running. Forced to grow up overnight, it’s left him guarded and a bit of a loner. He’s now thirty one, and home from the service with scars and baggage he can’t seem to get rid of. As he faces his demons from the past the woman who has always calmed the storm in his mind wants to be his anchor. The deep connection they shared as kids is even stronger, and soon she becomes his reason to fight. He’s always wanted her to be his, but held back. Will he finally choose love?

Mindy Ray is an Italian girl from a small town in Louisiana called Harristown that’s known for its peaches. She’s loved her best friends older brother Sawyer for as long as she can remember. Now he’s returned from the marines, and still sinfully delicious. She wants him to give them a real chance, but he continues to push her away. When she decides she’s ready to go after what she wants will she finally get her happily ever after with the man of her dreams?

This will be my 3rd read by Tia but it wasn’t until my last one (Wait for Me) that she entered “follow” territory. Once I finished that one, I desperately wanted another book that took me back to the LaGrange family & their peach orchard. Tia did an incredible job with Taron & Noel’s story, one that had me emotional throughout while making me feel as though I was physically there with these characters as they lived their fictional lives......that in itself is a HUGE gift for an author to have, everyone wants to “feel” something genuine when they crack open & invest in a book. But getting back to this one......

As much as I LOVED the romance at the center of Wait for Me, my favorite part was the family dynamic displayed by three orphaned (adult) siblings. I didn’t want to say goodbye, so I was on cloud 9 when I saw this was taking me back to one of my favorite “settings” of 2020 to tell the love story of the oldest LaGrange & his little sister’s best friend. Could Sawyer & Mindy top Taron & Noel? It was going to be tough, but I was ready to ugly cry & cheer them on to a HEA. Unfortunately this one did not get me to that ugly cry level. It was more than a surface level romance, but I just didn’t connect with it on the same level I did Taron & Noel’s. I didn’t FEEL the pain or any of the emotions I so desperately sought. But more on that later......

Overall Plot/Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Plot Pace: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Sawyer LaGrange: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Mindy Ray: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steamy Meter: 🔥🔥

Book Facts:
Told in: Dual POV, all present day with a prologue set in the past.
About: This stand-alone best friend’s older brother/second chance romance is part of the LaGrange Family/Harristown “universe”. Mindy has been in love with her best friend’s older brother Sawyer LaGrange since the moment she realized what love was. Theirs has always been a secret, sneaking in windows & hidden kisses. She’s been waiting on the moment he will make her officially his, but she’s now ready to take things in her own hands. Too bad the man that came back from the Marines isn’t the same one that left. Sawyer loves Mindy, but he’s too broken to give her everything she deserves. If they want HEA, he will have to fight his demons and she will have to take control of her own happiness......if only they both can take the first step.
Safe Read? Absolutely, although it does contain some situations that include military-war-based PTSD.
Ends in: HEA ending for couple, with another book planned within this “universe” planned for August.

My Thoughts:
Despite what I said above, this book was entertaining and well written. I’m sure some will even have an emotional connection/reaction to it, but I couldn’t get past surface level enjoyment. Nevertheless, let’s get into it.....

What I loved.....
Everything at the nursing home: It might be odd to hear, but my absolute favorite thing about this book was every scene at the nursing home and every character based there. I loved Mrs. Irene, who was so supportive and sweet while also being the voice of reason and funny. I cracked up at Mr. Herbert and his “relationship” troubles. I desperately wanted a ticket to the Silver Peach Pageant.....
“She gave a really good interview.” Mrs. Irene stands in front of the window, pressing her fingertips in the soil of her plants. “They asked her what made her different from the other contestants.” “What in the world did she say?” “She’s never slept with Jimmy Hebert.”
description
.....I mean everything about it made the book that much more entertaining. Never have I actually considered wanting a geriatric-based romance series more than I did with this nursing home (I came to my senses rather quickly).

Prologue: One thing Tia Louise has shown me in her last two books is her brilliance when writing a prologue. It was the single part of this entire book that truly broke my heart.....
I guess he got tired of waiting for her. I guess he decided she was too much to lose. I guess he forgot about us.

......she makes sure you don’t enter this story thinking it’s upbeat and happy. She really shines in this moment.

What I didn’t.....
Emotional Connection/Depth: I am absolutely confused at how Taron & Noel’s story impacted me so deeply yet this one didn’t. The prologue was really the only moment that tugged at my heart strings, everything else was just like reading a fictional story. I know that’s what it is, but so was Stay for Me and that one had me a complete mess throughout. I didn’t connect with either Sawyer or Mindy and I wasn’t invested in their story. Sure I was happy they get a HEA, but it wasn’t the same as when Taron & Noel got theirs.

Mindy Ray: She was immature in so many ways, from her thought process to how she is pushing 30 still having to sneak guys in & out of her bedroom window at her mothers home.
description
She is way too dependent and clingy, with very little self-worth when it came to Sawyer. I couldn’t feel sorry for her bc it was borderline ridiculous how she put her life on hold for someone who never promised or gave reasons for her to believe she should. She had no ambition that wasn’t centered around him.....
“What if I said in five years, I want to be married to Sawyer?” I glance up at him, and to his credit, he’s thinking about my question. “I’d say you are the only thing you can control. I want you to be financially secure.” “That’s not very romantic.” “Neither is starving.”
description
.....she refuses to do anything to better herself or chase her dreams if it means not being there on the sidelines waiting on Sawyer to finally realize he is ready to make it official. I did admire that she fixes all that BUT I just couldn’t connect with her.

Sawyer LaGrange: He was so broken, I couldn’t help but feel awful for him. I can’t say I fully connected with him BUT I did get him on a deeper level than I did Mindy. He is so stubborn/bull-headed and kinda stuck in his ways. I hated how he treated Mindy like she was disposable although it’s clear he loves her & doesn’t see her that way. He self sabotages his own happiness.

Family “Feel”: One of my favorite things about Stay for Me was the strong family feel of the story, I was obsessed with their family dynamic at the LaGrange property. I didn’t get the deep feeling of family with this one. It’s clear they are still a tight knit family, but it just didn’t play as significant of a role through Sawyer. That saddened me because it’s such an important part of who Sawyer is.

The Verdict:
description
I’m sure most people assume a 3 star read likely means I wouldn’t recommend this book but that’s far from the truth. It was entertaining and I’m sure there will be some readers that can connect in ways I couldn’t. It’s worth the time & energy to see if you are one of those. If like me you don’t get the “feels”, you still walk away having read a good story. But if this one somehow touches someone the way it’s predecessor Wait for Me did me.....well that’s the kind of emotional read you don’t want to chance missing out on.

I hate it when I am in the minority with my ratings of a book compared to my fellow readers.

I started this book based on the high star rating this book received but sadly it was a DNF for me, I just could't anymore.

There was just too many holes in this story and I felt like I was reading this book out of sequence. I had too may questions when starting to read this book to give me a clear picture but sadly this was missing for me.

Questions I had was: what happened to Sawyer after his dad died, when did he go into the Military and for how long was he there for, did he have any kind of a relationship with Mindy, what did he think of Mindy's relationship with Deacon?........

The romance between Sawyer and Mindy was not there for me. I just could not relate to them at all.
I needed Sawyer to WAKE THE f...K UP!!!!! as his reasons for not wanting to be with Mindy was very weak at best.

Sadly not the book for me. I need my hero to be more decisive and to fight to be with their woman. Sawyer was just too weak for me as a hero.

“I’m ready to go anywhere with him.”

“Like a magnet to steel, I’m drawn to her.”

“She keeps me in my place. She holds me steady. She’s my anchor, but she’s more than that. She’s my morning star, guiding me through the darkest night and leading me home.”

Here With Me is an emotional second chance romance and it follows the story of Mindy and Sawyer. For Mindy, it’s always been Sawyer. Ever since she was a little girl there is no one she loved or wanted more. He’s quiet, broody and everything Mindy wants. Over the years, their bond has grown stronger and with each day, Mindy hopes that Sawyer will finally see her for the woman she is and not the girl that she used to be…..They say that war changes a man, and truer words have never been spoken. Sawyer has seen and done things that will haunt him forever. When Sawyer returns home, he’s not the same man he used to be. He’s got scars and demons he can’t let go of. As much as he wants Mindy, he doesn’t want her tangled up in the mess his life has become. Only a connection like Sawyer and Mindy’s is too hard to ignore. No matter how hard he fights it, he can’t deny that he needs Mindy just as much as she needs him. Will Mindy finally get her chance with Sawyer? Will Sawyer be able to keep his demons at bay? There’s only one way to find out….

Here With Me is a beautiful and emotional second chance romance. From the moment I met Mindy and Sawyer, I was hooked. Sawyer’s life has been anything but easy, but there was always one constant, and that was Mindy. Mindy was always there for Sawyer, through thick and thin. She was the one that he could always count on and the one bright spot in his life, aside from family. And Mindy, she had the biggest heart. When she loves someone, she goes in 100% and gives her all. She is stronger than she looks and isn’t afraid of making tough decisions no matter how much they hurt.

The push and pull between Sawyer and Mindy was intense. I loved all of their will they/won’t they moments. The chemistry between them just oozed off the pages and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would play out. However, the road to happily ever after for these two was not an easy one. You see, Sawyer had a lot of demons that he had to deal with and not owning up to them was wreaking havoc in his life. He had to not only deal with the past, but decide was was worth fighting for. Mindy also had some tough decisions ahead of her. As much as she loved Sawyer, she couldn’t live her life in limbo. Mindy had to figure out what she wanted from this life and along the way she not only found her self, but also found a strength she didn’t know she had in her.

Here With Me took my emotions on one heck of a rollercoaster ride. I fell head over heels for Sawyer and Mindy and couldn’t help but root for the two of them to find their way back to one another.

Here With Me is a captivating and entertaining story. It’s filled with love and heartache, angst and determination. It’s a story of family, love and friendship. A story of learning from the past and finding who you are and what is worth fighting for. I loved seeing the familiar faces from previous stories and how they intertwined with this one. I appreciated the way the author dealt with the tough moments and left us aching for the sweet ones. Here With Me was everything that I was hoping from and then some. It is the perfect story to spend your day getting lost in. I hope you will check out Here With Me and fall helplessly in love with these characters and their story as I did….

Sawyer and Mindy's story was sweet, sexy, emotional and beautiful. These two found each other at a young age and were bound and anchored together through tragedy and darkness.

Sawyer has been dealing with the loss of both his parents from a young age that forced him to grow up much faster than he should've. Taking on the responsibility of running his family's peach orchard while caring for his two young siblings since he was 16. Now at 31 he has recently returned home from serving with the marine's and he is even more closed off and guarded than before.

He was such a strong, determined, protective, supportive, sexy and caring guy but also broken, lost, hurting in ways that will break your heart but you will surely fall in love with him. I loved every thing about him.

Mindy has been in love with her best friends brother long before she even really knew what love meant. She is determined now more than ever to do everything she can to make him hers for the long run while also working towards reaching her goals and exploring her passions. She wants to be there for Saywer as long as he is willing to let her in.

Mindy was a passionate, sweet, motivated, kind, patient, funny, sassy and loyal girl. I loved watching her grow as a person separately as well as alongside Sawyer. She never gave up on what she wanted and deserved in life and I both admired and loved her character.

Sawyer & Mindy's connection, chemistry, heat and passion felt very raw, natural and real. I loved their story so much and have been loving this series of interconnected standalones and can't wait for the next one Tia releases.

Safe read. No cheating, no ow or om drama. HEA. 6 month separation.

Sawyer and Mindy. He's her best friend's older brother (5 years age difference). She's loved him since she was young. They've been secretly dancing around each other for years. Now he's 31 and she's 25. They start things up but he has issues he hasn't faced up to from what happened in the military. Sweet secondary characters. A lot of angst but a lot of sweet moments. I enjoyed it.

I loved Sawyer and Mindy though they did frustrate me a lot. The timeline was pretty clear from the previous book but I felt confused about their relationship status. It appeared like they've never acted on their feelings (except for her sneaking in his window every year on the anniversary of her father's death and him holding her). But then it's stated that they had sex once when she was 19. Then what??? Were there times when they would hook up or did they just ignore what happened?

Sawyer was very stoic and quiet and Mindy lacked the gumption to push for them which didn't seem to fit her personality. So many things were left unsaid. I could see it working in the beginning of the story but it happened over and over. It needed more progression in their relationship. Even some two step forward-two step back moments would have helped. I also think it would have added to have the other characters at least somewhat aware of what was going on. It would have led to meaningful conversations. I also would have loved some more detail involving Noel, Taran and Dove. They were there together but after reading their story it would have been nice to get to revisit them a little.

Enough about all that. Those are just my observations. I can honestly say I was rooting for this couple and their HEA was satisfying and sweet.

Interesting, that’s what this story was. Sawyer and Mindy were … interesting. That is the only word that I could come up with after reading this story.

Mindy fell in love with Sawyer the minute he held her hand. Sawyer formed a bond with Mindy they minute he held her hand. The bond lasted through puberty, through the teen-age years, as he went into the military. But, when he returned, he wasn’t the same Sawyer that she gave her heart to. He’s closed-off, he’s quiet, he’s pulled away from her. And, she has not idea why.

Sawyer knows that Mindy deserves more than the broken man that he is. She deserves to follow her dream and have a wonderful life. Not, stay in this little Louisiana town with him. But, how does her turn away from her? He promised he would always be there for her. One incident, two and then the final one that makes him finally understand that he needs help. Push her away, walk away but keep on fighting to come back to her. He can finally admit that he loves her and she’s gone.

Through the good times and the bad, Sawyer and Mindy have been there for each other. Now, she’s alone following her dream and he’s away figuring himself out. Not a day goes by that they don’t think about the other. Now it’s time … they are both home … they are different people. Will the love that they have always carried for each other be there?

This was a truly heart-warming and heart-wrenching story. Both characters had extreme insecurities that worked against them. The octogenarians were the highlight of this story. They were feisty, strong-willed and extremely funny. They brought light into what could have been a very dreary story. But, Tia Louise brought us full circle with these two people. She showed us how being strong and independent can be sexy. They she showed us how being vulnerable and open can be just as arousing. Mindy and Sawyer belonged together and, in the end, bringing out the person that they both had deep within them had me cheering and smiling. They were both definitely there for each other.
