She's falling for her bodyguard... now if she just knew who he was!
In a show of love and solidarity, Ridge Lockwood retired from the military when one of his identical triplet brothers was rescued from an enemy prison. Now, they've opened Lockwood Industries, a private security firm where they can use their skills to protect those who need it. When a musician he's been crushing on walks through their doors needing help with a fan who's going too far, he's all to willing to step in and play protector, except he doesn't get assigned the case.
Everly Madison is content with her life, recording videos from the comfort of her own home and posting them online to a large group of adoring fans. But when one of her followers starts making threatening comments, her idyllic life is turned upside down. Her brother recruits the help of some former military buddies and soon Everly has a bodyguard dogging her every step. Too bad it's not the one who made her stomach flutter when they first met.
Desperate to meet the woman he's been watching for so long, Ridge makes a deal with his brother to swap places so he can get to know the beautiful guitar player. Their time together is everything he wished it would be... until Ridge realizes she's falling for the wrong brother! Worried about ruining their business' reputation and with the stalker closing in, Ridge has to make some hard decisions that just might cost him the woman he's been waiting for.
The first novella of a six-book series is a great opening salvo for the series. Three ex-military identical triplets join together with three ex-military friends and create a personal security business. Each member of the team brings specialized skill sets from their military past. It is an interesting fact that each of the triplets are so physically identical that most people cannot tell them apart. The fact that our heroine, Everly, can sense a difference between our hero, Ridge, and his brother, Sawyer adds an extra dimension to the story. I found the storyline to be fun, believable, and well-constructed. Although Her Bodyguard Swap and the following novellas in the series are advertised as stand-alone books, I feel comfortable in suggesting that readers read each book in the series in sequence since each of the primary characters in this opening novella become major players in the books that follow. I award five-stars to this clean contemporary romance.
The newest series from author, Laura Ann, is sweet, funny, suspenseful, and very romantic. The series begins with Everly and Ridge's story. The Lockwood's triplets have all left the military and began a security firm. When Everly, a popular You-tube musician, begins to receive hateful and threatening comments, the brothers are hired to protect and uncover who is behind the threats. The suspense of the story is well done and the perpetrator will keep you guessing till the end. The sparks fly when Everly and Ridge cross paths the very first time, When his brother is sent to guard Everly, Ridge talks him into swapping places. Everly is confused when they switch because, even though the brothers are identical, there are only sparks with Ridge!
I look forward to future books in the series and getting to know all of the Lockwood brothers!
I did receive an ARC of this book and my review is my personal opinion.
What a brilliant start to a new series!! I loved Goldie and her brothers in 'Goldilocks's Misunderstood Billionaire' and I loved learning more about the triplet brothers in this story. Although they look identical, the author managed to make them all genuine and different. Loved the dynamics between them. In this novel, I fell in love with Ridge and Everly; their relationship was just so cute! Ridge's fun and charming personality made me swoon, and it was so adorable to see him be so protective of Everly. Loved Everly's creativeness and the song she wrote at the end was just the best! Loved the chemistry and playfulness between them. The plot was also interesting, well-written, and appropriately paced. Enjoyed the suspense woven throughout the plot. I can't wait for the rest of the series! Laura Ann has written another great novel!
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not affected my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. I went to school with a set of identical triplets so I can feel Everly’s frustration about trying to figure out who is who. However she quickly discovers her heart has no problem telling them apart. Of the triplets Ridge probably is my favorite because I love his playfulness and how he can lighten the mood even in Everly’s stressful situation. I felt the romance side of the story was fun and lighthearted. I loved the scene when they had their first kiss! So sweet! The storyline really leaves you wondering who the internet troll is. I appreciated that it wasn’t just an obvious solve. It’s a fast paced story though and I was able to read it in one setting over an extended tea time. It was the perfect amount of happy distraction in the middle of my day. Rating: G/PG, clean sweet story
Ridge watched the woman of his dreams walking away down the hall. Time to turn in the man card and see if he could get switched to be her bodyguard.
So what’s up with the guards? Yesterday Sawyer gave me chills as he helped me in the store, but today I got nothing. No chills, no thrills. But this morning Sawyer is cooking breakfast for me and I am enthralled. What is happening to me? Have I suddenly become bipolar? It’s like there’s two different men with the same name.
Oh, no, they didn’t. The triplets think I can’t tell them apart? Oh, baby, it’s on now!
This is the first book in the Lockwood Industries series, and I’m loving the return of the Lockwood brothers. They’re the perfect protector, times three. These brothers may look the same, but they couldn’t be any different. There’s a personality for everyone; joyful and fun-loving, serious and not ready to commit, hurting and broody. Laura Ann has written a great romance with just the right amount of suspense. I love the idea of identical triplets. So many scenarios could come from this, and what better than the identity swap. How far will a guy go to make his celebrity crush real? Ridge may be the happy-go-lucky brother, but he wants to get to know Everly, not because she’s famous, but because she touches something in him that’s crying to come out. Will swapping places with his brother, Sawyer get him what he wants, or land him in a world of hurt? Well written and easy to read this book is a winner.
Been waiting for the Lockwood Trips Story and the first one was perfect
As a Middleton Prep fan, I was thrilled to hear about a series involving the Lockwood Triplets. Remember Goldie Lockwood from “Goldilock’s Misunderstood Billionaire”? Well her brothers have started a security business, Lockwood Industries.
This book has a slight level of suspense to it that I am totally digging. I hope the rest of the series continues down this route.
Ridge & Everly have the insta-connection thing going on. I mean how else can you explain why a girl could only be affected by one of three identical triplets and have no reaction to the other two. Secretly Ridge is totally fanboying over Everly Madison. She a YouTube star and he is an established fan.
Lockwood Industries has been hired as security for Everly after she experiences on going cyber threats. Lots of shenanigans occur along with escalating threats.
DNF. I got almost halfway through when I just didnt have it in me anymore. I was wary of the book anyway and I should have just skipped it. The concept was just not there for me. These triplets should be there for each other, am I wrong? Yet Ridge wants his brother Sawyer to swap places with him. Sawyer even says "“Nice try, Ridge. But seriously, I don’t know about this. It just doesn’t seem right. Harlan’s just getting this firm off the ground and you want to go and pull a trick that might ruin it. Don’t you care that he’s finally off the couch and not staring into space anymore? That he has a purpose and gets up every morning with a responsibility to take care of people?” Sawyer’s voice softened the longer he talked. “How can you ask me to risk that, Ridge?” And yet they switch and the reason behind it is ridiculous. Sawyer switches with Ridge because the heroine Ev keeps asking about Ridge. Ok then why keep it a secret from her? Beyond confused at the reasoning at this point. Not to mention she needs these guys bc of some psycho online follower when honestly Ridge kind of comes off as a creepy follower too! I mean he says he's halfway in love with a women HE HAS NEVER TALKED TO!!! It was enough for me. I couldn't read anymore.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT she's falling for her bodyguard... now if she just knew who he was!
MY TAKE It would be confusing to have a set of adult identical triplet brothers run a security company, especially if one of the clients was seriously attracted to one of them but can't figure out at first which one it is--especially since one is pretending to be another brother.
The brothers are close and supportive of each other. They're working hard to make sure the business succeeds. And Ridge doesn't want to mess that up. But their client is an indie singer he's been crushing on for months. How can he not try to switch with the brother assigned to guard her?
Everly and Ridge's chemistry is powerful and their banter fun. Add in the suspense element, and it's a sweet combination.
This is the first book in a new series by the lovely Laura Ann and I really enjoyed it! It actually took me a little longer than usual to really get into the story but that’s probably because it’s been a really busy week! Once I was about half way though, I really started to get into the storyline and I felt more connected with the characters. By then I didn’t want to put it down! I’m eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series. No spoilers but if you like clean romance novels with protective hero’s with boyish charm and artistic/creative heroines who are spunky and smart, then you’ll enjoy this book. I received an ARC from the author. This has in no way influenced my opinion of the book. This was a clean read, with just the right balance of suspense and romance for me.
This story was a bit more plausible than a good number of novels I've read in a similar vein. I liked that the veterans seemed to be more like those I've met as a mil-spouse. So kudos to the author for getting in that detail which is important to me. The story flowed pretty well. I'm not impressed by the instant attraction angle this story took. It seemed a bit rushed to me, but that could just be a perspective thing. I loved the characters, though. I'm interested to see what happens in the next story. I'd recommend this novel to someone looking for a fairly clean read. However, it's not an inspirational story, so if that's what you're looking for, you might wish to skip this one.
A great start to a new clean romantic suspense series
Everly, an internet singing star, meets Ridge, security expert and self-proclaimed best looking sibling, when her brother goes with her to hire the security firm started by Harlan, one of Ridge’s brothers, after an internet troll starts to escalate things. As the story progresses a spark is ignited, shenanigans are had, and getting to the bottom of the mystery seems harder than it should be. Laura Ann’s newest book is a great start to a new clean romantic suspense series with a lively cast of characters that leaves you wanting to hear more.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Her Bodyguard Swap: A clean bodyguard romance (Lockwood Industries Book 1)
Everly is a Singer and songwriter who performs videos and has a million followers. Ryder is one of three triplets who are identical. His brothers are Harlan the owner of a Security Company and Sawyer and Ryder work for him with other previous Military Men. Everly is bought to them because she is being trolled on the Internet. They get Sawyer and her brother Leon to stay with her as protection . Someone drops of a small Bomb at her door so they move her to their house to keep her safe. She is attracted to Ryder but she thinks she is also drawn to Sawyer until she finds out they swapped jobs.
A fun good clean romance, a nice spinoff from your fairytale series; it was fun seeing Harlan, Sawyer and Ridge again with their shenanigans. Harlan is struggling with issues from the military; but decides to start a security company and ask his brothers to help. They do, hoping this will help Harlan resolve his issues. Their first client is Everly, an indie musician, who Ridge has a celebrity crash on. They have an instant attraction, but she has a stalker. Can they find the stalker and will Ridge and Everly pursue the attraction; how?
This is a fun beginning to a new series. The story reminds me of the movie "The Parent Trap" which is such fun just like this book. 2 of the 3 triplets changing places to help one of them get a chance with a star singer he likes. Couple that with a mystery of someone who doesn't like Everly & wants her harmed. Mystery & Romance--just the right combination! That's why I loved it!!! I received an ARC. This is my enthuiastic, voluntary review.
ARC Reader- No words for how amazing I found this book. I loved the story. I loved the chemistry between everly and ridge. I loved the suspense in the story. I loved the swapping aspect I found it to be clever that even as I reader I was initially fooled. It was a great story with plot twist and suspense and just beautiful work. Eagerly awaiting more as always.

Ridge is one of three military triplets turned newly opened private security. Aka. Bodyguards. He’s got a fan boy crush on singer Everly, who’s been getting threats. There’s a sweetness to both Ridge and Everly, but especially Ridge. Cuz, which triplet is which? Ridge may have swapped with brother Sawyer to get to know Everly.
Laura Ann’s books are always fun to read and this one was a good start to her new series. I really enjoyed the characters. The dynamics between siblings was great. The love story was sweet and clean. There was some great suspense and drama and a wonderful ending. It was great!
I received a complimentary copy of the book. All opinions are my own and are expressed voluntarily.
Ridge was a funny, outgoing guy. He was one part of triplets. They were all in the service. When Everly’s brother had to have security for her because a lunatic was after her, she met Ridge. Sparks flew left and right. Lots of ups and downs before they would be together.
I thought this was so adorable. The suspense killed me to the dead. I had no idea who it was. However the story wasn’t long or detailed enough to give me an idea. This is definitely a love story more than a suspense that’s for sure. But there is nothing wrong with that especially for these 2 characters.
I can’t do it. It’s another “it’s not me, it’s you” kind of thing. I am not a fan of the writing. I for one don’t like the hero’s name. I grew up knowing why too much about the military and how they talk and so it’s just hard for me to read books like this. To be honest I have no idea why this was on my TBR. Maybe because it was free.
This was a fun, sweet story that had me laughing aloud several times. Both main characters were people I could root for. I look forward to catching glimpses of them in the rest of the series.
I received a complimentary ARC; all opinions are my own and freely given.
This was another sweet read from Laura Ann. I enjoyed the element of suspense that was added. Both Ridge and Every were fun characters and I liked the tie in with his brothers.
I really enjoyed reading this book! Because of some online badmouthing, a singer's brother decided to get some guards to keep his sister safe! I recommend this book to anyone who loves a little mystery with their romance!
Triplets, wow. A protection business starts. And an Internet singer is their assignment. But the wrong triplet is her protection. What's a guy to do? Swap places of course. Good clean romance. Recommend.
Ridge and Everly have an instant connection. It’s easy to love Ridge even though he certainly isn’t perfect. Everly is great although she’s naive and hasn’t dated much. Laura Ann has written an exciting story that I didn’t want to put down.
Her bodyguard swap is about a team of ex military persons, now using their skills in civilian world. The Lockwood brothers are triplets. The outcome is predictable. Cleanly written, thank goodness.
I really enjoyed this book ,i it was exciting and fun as well as having a bit of mystery in the end! But it was her song and how he responded that was perfect!
This is a great series. The author is gifted. The characters are fun and well developed. The action is intense and romantic. This book should be owned and read often. It makes me smile.
