This is disgusting.
He sleeps with his nasty girlfriend from beginning till the end of the book. He sleeps with ow even whilst married to h and continues all throughout. He is meant to be an alpha but when it comes to this ow he is putty in her hands. His father and brother always hated this woman but he still kept on seeing her. He was prepared to even marry her when he was told he needed to get married to get his business. I felt sorry for the h but at the same time when she found out he was sleeping with ow throughout their entire together she should not have slept with him again. It was painful to read about how he slept with ow when he was dating h, how he slept with her night before his wedding to her and two days after his marriage. He even too the woman away on a holiday where he slept with her the first night. He was way into the ow even though he says she’s only a convenience. His actions of constantly sleeping with her and then being hurt and angry when he thought/realised she was cheating on him says differently! After he divorces h and apparently he can’t stop stalking her we have a lovely scene where he has sex with ow in his office. Towards the end he tries to kill ow but she tells him she is pregnant. Last scene before cliffhanger is him lying in bed with his arms around ow who is now his wife. His reasoning? Well he cared about h and didn’t want her in danger and well he had to marry ow as she was having his child.
I don’t know what the author was trying to achieve with this book but in no way was this guy meant to be a bad boy anti hero. He was just a hypocrite, a wimp and a big fat cheater who was way more obsessed with ow then the h!

When I read a book, I wonder who the authors ask to reading before sending it to their editors. Do they ask their husbands to read? I honestly think if I wrote such a crap, asked my husband to read it and he thought it would be a good idea to read about a man cheating his wife that way I'd be very, very worried about the man I'm married Sometimes I think if I'm not being too hard on my criticism, but when I pick up a book and realize that the author has not given herself the least work to understand and respect the audience for whom she writes there is no way to have any consideration. This was a short quick read that I didn't like. Matteo Stone wants to be Mafia Don his father has had a stroke but in order for him to do that he needs a wife and not the girl he is seeing his father doesn't like her or his brother who is a doctor and doesn't want anything to do with the family business. When he tells his girlfriend Sarah she doesn't get upset about it I found this to be very odd. Sarah actually finds Matteo a woman name Isabella to marry. Matteo decides to keep both of the women. I didn't connect with any of the characters in this book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Just wow and not in a good way
You have Isabella who just wants to have a relationship like her best friend does. You have Matteo which is in the mafia but he is very WEAK. Then you have Sarah the other woman who has Matteo jumping through hoops.
Why write a mafia book if you were going to make the Hero that weak? It just makes the book less enjoyable!

Holy fuck, this shit was BAD. I don’t know how anyone could get past the horrible writing to worry about the OW mistress. I liked the plot, a lot, but it was so terribly written it killed brain cells.

It ends on a cliffhanger. I don't know if this will come as a surprise or not (ha) , but I will not be reading the next one or any other book this author produces. I've never read something so messed up. I honestly wish I hadn't read this book in the first place it made me that mad.

Matteo needs to get married asap otherwise he would lose his family job and his brother would be don witch both of them doesn't want. So Matteo and his girlfriend Sarah decide to found a woman who would marry Matteo but they would be still together. The reason why he can't get married to Sarah is that his father forbids Matteo to marry Sarah. He hates her. That's how we meet Isabella. She is working in a bank where Sarah meet her. Matteo soon becomes attracted to her and she to him. The relationship between Matteo and Isabella is toxic. The reason why is because Matteo doesn't want to feel the emotion he sows how was his father when he lost his wife so he doesn't want to feel week. When he finally want to be with her it's already too late. There are multiple times skip in the story and it's not written the best. Sometimes you are feeling like a fanfic who wrote and you know the character. They are talking to you like they are in the room with you. Sometimes that's good it's annoying. The story ends up on a cliffhanger and has the second part of the book. Overall book is not bad but if you are going to read it just so you know it's toxic and he cheats Isabella a lot and threatens her bad 'for her good'.

I read many books in which the hero cheated, but I love to see a strong heroine, one that cannot turn a blind eye; I hate when the heroine knows about the cheating and still she does nothing. Only 2*because of the drama and the cheating and because her behavior has a little OTT.
Matteo must marry in order to receive his inheritance, the family business. He worked a lot for it, and he thinks that he is entitled to it. He wants to marry Sarah, his lover, but his father hates Sarah, so in the will, there is a special clause about it, and about the fact that he will lose it all if he marries her. Matteo must find another woman to marry, and he must make the marriage look legit, so Sarah helps him and this is how he meets Isabella, a sweet woman, perfect for him.
He is instantly attracted by her but after they spend some time together, he realizes that he might be a little in love, and knowing that love is a weakness, he tries to forget how he feels with Isabella, and he cheats with Sarah.
Matteo confesses everything about the will to Isabella, thinking that she will marry him because it is obvious that she is in love with him. Isabella is heartbroken, and she doesn't want to marry him only for money, so Sarah puts some pressure on her, and in the end, she must agree.
After the wedding, Matteo keeps seeing Sarah, and Isabella has some troubles remembering that the marriage is fake. She still loves the as**le, so when Matteo makes a move on her, she agrees to sleep with him. They have their honeymoon in another city and they are both happy, but Matteo breaks her heart again, by openly cheating with Sarah.
She leaves Matteo but she doesn't divorce him, and after the divorce, she wants nothing with him, and she starts to date his business enemy.
A huge cliffhanger about Sarah and about the enemy.:P

Maybe Mateo Morelli ruin all other Mateos for me? Objectively, this particular Matteo left much to be desired when it came to being a Don. His qualifications wouldn't even put him at soldier level. He was the dumbest, most inept, incapable mafia MC I've read in any book. I think that alone was a huge disappointment. Sarah run the show with him. The three stars mainly go to the fact that I read the book and even moved on to the next one.

My rating: 2 stars.
What I liked: I liked how Isabella(h) left the “H” and didn’t take any of his calls.
What I didn’t like: Matteo(H). He was a very weak guy for being in the mafia especially when it came to Sarah(ow). I really hated the ow and I’m hoping she gets what she deserves in the second book.
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Triggers: Cheating. Matteo has to get married in order to inherit being the head of his father’s mafia (his father hates his girlfriend so he marries the h and keeps his ow on the side)
Final thoughts: This book was a little rough to read. I need the “H” to be more alpha instead he was really weak for being in the mafia. This is a dark mafia romance. It's a story I could not connect with , especially the husband with his attitude and cheating. I'm sure other readers wouldn't mind all the cheating but for me it was a huge turn off and not a book to my taste. That being said , it was an okay read.

dumbest book I have ever read. the whole mistress finding mafia prince a respectable bride sounded good. he finds women he really likes and screws up over and over. I really thought it was going to get better but it just continue to get worse. Do you really want me to believe his mistress out smarted all these mafia men.REally!! then top it off it ends on cliff hanger.

I should have read the reviews first. Thankfully it's a short book. It's really not believable why any of the characters are making the choices that they are. The H is forced to marry if he wants to take control of the "family business". His father has suffered a stroke and is dying but he manages to hang on for months and even begins to recover thanks to the H's brother's medical expertise. Somehow the H manages to keep his father's partners from taking matters into their own hands when his father essentially disappears. The H and the OW find a nice girl that meets with the father's approval. When the h declines his marriage proposal, the OW forces her hand by setting her to look like she embezzled money from the bank she works at. The H continues to have sex with the OW so the h leaves and they get a divorce. The book ends with a cliffhanger not an HEA but I don't care enough about the H and h to continue the story.

This started out really great. Both mc's had terrific character plots. By 80% I started thinking, how could this H be considered a don? He became more like a manager at a McDonald's. His emotions were not what a don of a mafia organization would have displayed even if he was falling in love. And being deceived by the ow was absurd. There was no alpha left in him. I think if the author re-read her own book and changed a few things that would lead to a more resounding build up with the H still taking charge, cause he certainly lost control of his own love life like a wilted dishrag, it would've been more exciting. I don't know. Something became annoying and my mind was re-writing the story the longer I read...

i knew about the cheating
I went into this book, knowing about the cheating… but I didn’t realize it was going to be this stupid. Like the guy cheats on her again, and again, and his reasoning for cheating on her is just completely stupid. He’s supposed to be this big bad mafia boss, and he never kills his girlfriend, who is clearly manipulating him. And he hates her by the way! But she also knows information on him that she could use against him so I don’t understand why he doesn’t just kill her if he doesn’t like her. and the end of the book is very unsatisfying because you can tell the other woman is going to be sticking around even longer.

Are you all for real in those comments saying everything bad about the man lead but leaving out the most disquieting part about female lead which is,she fucked 2 brothers? Its your sexisim so high that that is totally acceptable from you all? So his cheating is disquieting but her fucking two brothers and dating them for a long period of time, is absolutely normal? Do you all have any double standards when it comes to what should be acceptable and what shouldn't?

The people of Matteo’s world are cruel and selfish and Isabella clearly doesn’t belong. Once dragged into the world, Isabella is in danger and Matteo must make a difficult choice. It is a pretty big cliffhanger so I’m off to read the next book now!

I love cheating in books as long as there's grovel and right now as things stand, I'm not sure how I feel about Mateo. He just can't control his d*ck. I do think he likes Isabela but he makes such bad choices and he keeps screwing him and her over. I do like Isabela a lot, until the last few chapters because she acted a bit naively but I will continue on to the next book because I wanna know how things get resolved lol.

Unfortunately the H in this story was weak. His constant flip flopping was too much and he frankly seemed like a bad mob boss too. I tried to read the second book but I had to DNF at 30%. I didn’t have a problem with the cheating. My basic problem was the H was written as weak and indecisive to the point I no longer cared about him. He wasn’t an exciting character to read. The h wasn’t much better either. So what you end up with is a story with weak characters that lack any sort of chemistry on page.

Parts of the story I like. Isabella does not put up with some of the things Matteo does to her to. Matteo marries Isabella to become Don of the Mafia. For a Mafia boss, Matteo isn't that smart. Despite warnings, he never suspects his girlfriend in the side, Sarah, of being deceitful.

I feel bad writing a negative review but I had a hard time with this book. I'd be a better Don than Matteo. A smarter one too. Sarah was super predictable and I've already forgotten the fmc's name.
