What a wonderful way to make church at home inspiring and meaningful! It's been a rough year, but the Sabbath has felt holy (despite not being able to go to church) due in significant part to this manual of home lessons.

I used a print copy of this manual to journal my thoughts related to the Book of Mormon this year. Content-wise, I didn't like this manual as much as the New Testament one from 2019, but oh, I'm sure glad I had this resource during our ten months of home church here in 2020!

This is an excellent study guide for the Book of Mormon.

Previous thoughts
While I haven't finished my Come, Follow Me study yet for the year, I love this manual. It helps me see how to apply the scriptures I'm my life in insightful ways.

I find the emphasis on conversion is helpful, the scripture study techniques are meaningful, and the family activities have strengthened our family study. This manual is a great resource to improve your personal and family scripture study to draw everyone nearer to the Savior Jesus Christ. We've consistently had discussions in our scripture study, rather than just reading to read. It's not like our experience before Come, Follow Me was bad. We felt the spirit and often we did have discussions. Now, we have excellent questions that have focused our discussions. If you haven't been using this manual in your study, from our experience it would bless your life if you began today.

I made it a goal to get all the way through this book in 2024. I'm happy to say I made it.

A book titled "Come, Follow Me" should have a picture of the Savior on the cover.

President Russell M. Nelson said: “I plead with you to increase your spiritual capacity to receive revelation. … Choose to do the spiritual work required to enjoy the gift of the Holy Ghost and hear the voice of the Spirit more frequently and more clearly”

"The teachings of Jesus Christ are not just a beautiful philosophy to ponder. They are much more than that—they are meant to change our lives. The book of 4 Nephi provides a stunning example of this, illustrating just how thoroughly the Savior’s gospel can transform a people. Following Jesus’s brief ministry, centuries of contention between the Nephites and Lamanites came to an end. Two nations known for dissension and pride became “one, the children of Christ” (4 Nephi 1:17), and they began to have “all things common among them” (4 Nephi 1:3). The “love of God … did dwell in the hearts of the people,” and “there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God” (4 Nephi 1:15–16). This is how the Savior’s teachings changed the Nephites and the Lamanites. How are they changing you?"

An improvement from the first Come Follow Me. There are more additional resources and the Family Home Evening suggestions are more rounded. The questions are deeper and more searching than the 2019 book, though a few still fall superficial. It does ignore historiography by playing into Nephite racism, which is all too common in nearly all Book of Mormon aides, even though several of the authors of the BoM itself admit there are faults of man within the BoM. There is less blatant self-righteousness than the 2019 book, but that quality still remains a personality through-line of this outing.

Despite its weaknesses, it is good to see the Church trying to improve their methods of creating resources.

This manual was put out in 2020 to help individuals and families in studying the Book of Mormon. It's amazing that it came out in 2020, the year of COVID19, when we haven't been able to have church on a regular basis.
I have not been to church nor Sunday School for nine months but have studied the Book of Mormon with "Come, Follow Me" as a guide. What a wonderful help it has been. (I need to add, however, that I have been able to attend church via the computer, thank goodness.)

This was a fantastic manual that really helped me study the Book of Mormon in a systemic fashion. My only regret is that I didn't overcome my apprehension of writing in it: recording thoughts as I read and pondered the questions it posed. I will not make that mistake again for future study manuals. The Book of Mormon has so much to offer (as all scripture does); I find it very helpful to have something to scaffold my study and thoughts upon.

I finished this a little late, but it was a great resource providing additional study tools to get more out of reading the BM. The manual had a lot of introspective questions that I felt really useful. I also liked the ample writing room. The formatting used a consistent pattern whose predictability felt reassuring, and it was concise enough not to be overwhelming.

I know that this manual is really helpful to a lot of people. I'm not really one of them. It did bring my husband and me together for some good discussions, so that is really good. I'm just not a fan of this kind of 'help' in general. The caveat to that is that I didn't dive in 100%, so maybe the failure is mine.

I have read the Book of Mormon 19 times on my own. Yet, I still get something out of it every time I read it. This study guide brought even more insights for me as I read. I especially like the study questions that make me think and apply.

This was a really good study help for the Book of Mormon. It had places where you could write your thoughts as they pertained to the part of the Book of Mormon you were reading.
