When it's Right

Shane is trying to find a new life away from his homophobic family in Wyoming. Working for his Aunt he meets Alex and over their love of dogs become more than just friends, but will a secret from his past end the relationship before it can begin? Or will the son he never knew make the two men not only a real couple but an instant family as well? This heart breaking story not only had me hooked from the opening pages, it left me with the need to read more about these wonderful characters. Once again Aria Grace creates true, honest characters that the reader cannot help but feel for. I cannot wait to read more of this series.

When I'm Weak

With a secret in his past, Jamie slides through life as a bartender and as a flamboyantly gay man. With his different personas no one really knows the true Jamie. That is until he meets Reed and the two have an instant attraction. But with a sex crime on his record, Jamie knows he has to stay away from Reed because he is a preschool teacher. But can love conquer everything in his past and can having great friends help clear his name? This story was an emotional one. Being falsely accused and losing everything in your future really made the reader understand why Jamie never let anyone in. It was an amazing journey to read.

When I’m Lost
Mike hurt many people in his past with lies and deception, but when he comes to apologize to Jamie for the hurt and destruction he caused not only did he find forgiveness, but he also found friendship and a new beginning. Part of the new beginning is a relationship with Seb. Forgiveness from others and learning to forgive yourself are very two powerful lessons that Aria Grace mastered. The reader wanted to hate Michael for what he did but ends up falling in love with Mike for the tortured but hopeful character he becomes. I cannot wait for more in this series.

When You Were Mine
This book has it all....emotional storyline, beautifully written characters and the reader is left with a true feeling of happiness with the end result of the book. Kyle with low self esteem and involved in an abusive relationship and Jonathan with his OCD and germaphobe tendencies look like an uneven pair, but Aria Grace has a way to make them the perfect pair that improve each other’s strengths. This was a HEA that both characters rightfully deserved.

When I Fall
Jeff is tired of one night stands, but once again on Halloween he finds himself having sex in a closet with a man who is wearing a mask and will not tell him his name. Drake has not come out to his family and has never been in a real relationship, but cannot get the man from Halloween out of his mind. When problems arise in his business Drake and Jeff are thrown together in a work environment. The more time they spend together the closer they become, but when the sparks fly, will Drake be willing to come out of the closet? With great characters and a storyline that kept my interest this is another great read in this series.

When Whiskey Stops Working
With the death of his ex still fresh in his mind, Cooper hides his guilt by using whiskey to get him through his day. Jet, the hot bartender, has eyes for Cooper but is concerned with his drinking. It is not until Cooper accidentally starts a fire and almost kills the firefighter that is trying to save him, that Cooper hits rock bottom and stops drinking. But will it be too late to save the new relationship or will the baggage they both have from previous lovers bond them in a way no one else understands? Once again Aria Grace does not disappoint with this beautifully written story about finding love and forgiving yourself.

When Thunder Rolls
Aria Grace did it again, great characters, a storyline that was very enjoyable and an honest and true relationship between Josh and Tyler. This book had the extra suspense of whether Tyler’s identity would ever be known and this only added to the beautiful story.

When The Bough Breaks
Chad was first introduced to the reader’s in a previous book and I am so glad he got his own story. When Brittany dies shortly after giving birth, she leaves the children to Chad. As he tries to become their permanent guardian he meets up and falls for not only the children’s uncle AJ but the social worker Sawyer who is in charge of the case. What starts out as friends ends up as lovers in this heartwarming story. Everyone loves strong men with babies and the love and compassion that the three men bring to the relationship is beautifully written and a joy to read. A job well done Aria Grace.

When Words Fail
On the run and homeless, Isaac witnesses a mugging in the park and he cannot walk away from helping the unconscious victim. Eventually their paths cross and Troy ends up hiring Isaac to work in his sandwich shop. The sparks fly and their relationship is taken to the next level, but Isaac knows he needs to keep running. But will Troy’s love and support be enough to help Isaac leave the baggage behind? Or will the threat of hurting not only himself but those he loves cause Isaac to keep running? With great characters and well written storyline this is another book in the series that should not be missed.

When Doves Cry
Emotions run high while reading this last book in the series, there were times I had to stop and take a moment. We first fell in love with Shane and Alex when they found their way to each other in a previous story, but to lose on at the beginning of this story was so unexpected and heart wrenching. With Simon in the mix to help and look after the little boy who is wondering if his father is ever going to get past the depression and find his way back to them was simply heartbreaking. Finding love after tragedy is the perfect way to end the series.

I read about 90% of this series (it was one big bundle) before I threw my reading device across the room in disgust and gave up.

Overall, the writing is okay, if you like that style; the drama tends toward soap opera levels of dramatics; and the plots are too easily wrapped up. Often there is a lot of build up, but then things are quickly resolved and the story ignores a bunch of tension that was mentioned or hinted at.

While I'm not one to demand that a story be grounded in reality, I also found some very serious WTF moments that threw me out of the story, which only did so more when one of the stories points out that "in this world people can gamble at 18"--as if that's the only oopsie. I also realize that just because things *should* happen in reality doesn't mean that they *do* but...

1. In the second story, a child daycare doesn't report that they think a mother is unfit and the child is in a dangerous circumstance (the mother literally abandons her child with them for a weekend without telling them). They say they are worried about the child being put in foster care, but if anyone found out they didn't report this abuse, they could lose their license and probably face serious ramifications. (I realize State laws vary, but HELLO)

2. In the third to last story (a three-some), a social worker forms a relationship with the two guys fighting for custody of the children. The social worker says he can't have sex with them until the case closes, but they continue to hang out, kiss, etc. NOPE. Not only is all of that not allowed, but it could have introduced a whole bunch of sexual tension (because HANDS OFF) and a lot of case tension (because what if the grandparents found out???? or his boss?). These things get...sorta hinted at but never really explored and the mention of it only made it worse.

I realize these probably sound like minor squabbles, but I'm forgiving a lot of other issues and I can't rant all day.

And if you're asking why I read SO MUCH if I found so many problems? Because as mindless reading it does do it's job as a distraction in time of pandemic.

Beautiful till the End

This was the first time I have read this author and Inhave to say I was not disappointed. Each book brought the feel of each of the characters to life and you could not help but grow attached to each one of them and their stories.

Even though each one of their stories is different, each some character from another story brings more life to the current story and makes it feel more like a little town.

I loved each and every story, but the last story in the collection I will warn you is hard on the heart and I wanted to throw the kindle and yell at the author for allowing what to happen, happen. You will cry and cry a lot...Trust me!!

Until Next Time... Tabi
