A touching and tender love story where long forgotten dreams are rekindled. Is it too late to dream again?
FBI Agent Bryan Jackson has just spent two of the longest years of his life undercover. He’s seen and done things he’ll never be able to forget. Now that he’s back in the real world once again, he’s not sure he can continue to do the job. He feels broken inside and needs some time away from the job to re-evaluate his priorities. Hiding out in Castle Peaks, Montana seems just the thing to help him heal.
Jessame Marshall is a pediatric oncology nurse, who has picked up a stalker. When an opportunity presents itself for her to leave Florida behind, and hopefully her unwanted admirer, she jumps at the chance. When her stalker finds her, she needs help, but the one thing she could do to help herself, she won’t. She has a secret and must decide if keeping that is more important than protecting herself.
The pair find themselves drawn to each other, not only by their circumstances but by an attraction that goes way beyond the physical. As they deal with Jessame’s stalker, an unexpected death, an accidental fire, they find themselves not only relying on each other but returning to their roots and Christian belief system.
Return to Castle Peaks, to see if the problems of the past will keep these two from finding the promise of a future – the second time around.
Morris Fenris loves to let his imagination paint pictures in a wide variety of genres. His current book list includes everything from Christian romance to an action-packed Western romance series, to inspirational and Christmas holiday romance.
This came in a free Kindle boxed set. There were a few awkward sentences or repetitions, but this was generally well-written and easy to read. The plot was fine, and not overly predictable.
This story is about Bryan an FBI agent trying to forget what happened when he was deep undercover the last two years and Jess a Pediatric Oncology Nurse who left her job in Florida to escape a stalker. Both escape to Castle Peak a small quiet town in Montana to attempt to heal. They meet shortly after Bryan arrives in Castle Peak and there is and immediate attraction... Bryan and others in the town notice that something is troubling Jess, but she is afraid of ligate anyone about her stalker, who has been calling and texting her again. As their relationship grows Bryan finds out about her stalker and will do anything in his power to protect Jess whom he is falling for, including reaching out to contacts in the FBI, the police in Florida and the local town Sheriff.
This book started off slowly (for my taste) but then got better, so I'm glad I persisted in reading it. I liked that the author made God a part of the characters' lives. I liked that the author made Bryan so protective of those he cares about and how the author managed to interweave the two story lines. I half-expected Tami to break open some part of Bryan's previous case about the abducted women.
There were some point-of-view shifts (at least once the narrative slipped into first person when most of it was in third person) and a few typos that I noticed, so if those things bother you, you might want to skip this book.
The books in this set keep getting better and better than the book before. When reading one of the books you can’t think any could top it but he does it every time. This author is absolutely one of the greatest that I have ever read. Yes there are mistakes in the books but the stories are so great that I don’t even care about the mistakes. I am getting ready to start book five now and he is going to have to go some to top Second Time Around but with each book being better than the last I believe he will do it. Morris has quickly become one of my all time favorite authors.
A perfectly written story presenting the action in loving, thoughtful ways. It was just long enough to Keep one turning the pages , hold one's interest and leave the reader with uplifted spirits. A writing job well done. I wish I could afford more of Mr. Fenris' books. I encourage anyone who has not acquainted him/herself with his writings to do so.
I loved this book. The characters and the storyline kept me engrossed to the end. Each book can be read as a standalone. I can't wait to read others in the series.
Take the characters from the first three books for basic day-to-day normalcy and throw in a stalker. That adds drama to your every day life and a good mystery to the book. Couldn't put the book down - read in one sitting. Well done. On to book 5 - can't wait to see what it's about.
Bryan has come to Castle Peaks to get his life back together. He meets Jess the first night in town. Neither are looking for someone to date. But things happen that bring them together.

I enjoyed reading this book about Jess and Bryan's story. So many!lives were involved in this book. The outcome was perfectly portrayed. The spiritual aspect is what I enjoyed reading the most.
Another excellent book by Morris Fenris! He is definitely one of my top favorite authors. His books are really hard to put down. So many emotions in this book, and characters you fall in love with. I will definitely be buying all of his books.
This is one of those fast paced really moving stories.Thrills, mystery and suspense.I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.
Jess and Bryan lead different love but both like to help people. Jess is a nurse in a cancer clinic. Bryan works for the FBI and just finished a two year undercover operation. They meet in this small town. The emotions in this flow all over the place from happy to sad to stressful and sometimes relaxed. Love all the stuff and people they help. Love this book.
