I'm a voracious reader in many genres. I do sometimes judge a book by its cover art. Life is too short to spend time reading or reviewing bad books so you'll see my library, ratings, and reviews represent books I believe are worth sharing.

I live in Northern California with my husband, two dogs, a garden, lots of chickens, a viola, and a bicycle. My anthropology degree shapes my fiction. I write dark adventures (science fiction, fantasy, post-apocalyptic, coming-of-age) with a hint of romance. Follow me at JamieThornton.com

The series maneger to take a genre of fiction that's very loved and used in many formats but still made it feel unique and like a "fresh" take. A more human take on the common use of zombies. Bit sad that the series is over, now I need to find another great series to get stuck on

I really enjoyed this book. The author is very creative and the story is unique.I was engrossed in the story from the first chapter. The author is quite talented at world building and creating well developed characters I care about. The book ties up all the loose ends, yet leaves the option of more books in the Feast of Weeds series (I hope).I highly recommend this book to any fan of the Post-Apocalyptic and Zombie genres.I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Eradication, the final book in Jamie Thornton’s Feast of Weeds series was an amazing conclusion to an epic adventure.
I have enjoyed getting to know each character, seeing glimpses into their pasts, and learning more about the way they think.
Maibe had been living with her uncle before the zombie plague took over, and enjoyed puzzles. As a character she was caring about those around her, and felt guilty over every life she couldn’t save. In the apocalypse it is hard to protect all of your friends and save the world. Not everyone can be the hero they want to be, but you don’t need to give up living.
It was fantastic watching Maibe grow as a character. She was so young and naïve seeming when you are first introduced to her, but she grows up quickly. She had the biggest connection to the uninfected, interacting with Alden more often than anyone.
I highly recommend this book, and this entire series to anyone who is a fan of zombies, dystopias, and post-apocalyptic worlds. Jamie Thornton is a fantastic writer with believable characters, well developed worlds, and an exquisitely designed apocalypse.

As the Cure becomes closer and closer in reach, it becomes evident that a life for a life may be the only way out for everyone. As the disease mutates further and further, and with the death of Dr. Ferrand, it seems being Feeb or V is all the choices left, until Maibe discovers the truth, the mutation is in the saliva.

Spoilers

In the beginning chapters I had a really hard time getting into it . I think it was mostly because of the long gap between books I've forgotten about some of the characters . But by chapter 5 I was hooked . And I didn't quite like the ending , some books well most books I don't like the ending but I thought this one was ended well. I was very sad when Mary came back into the book but she was not really Mary, she was more zombie Mary in a muzzle. And Alden arg! Here I was thinking how in love he was with Maibe. But the more he obsessed about a cure for her the more I just wanted to slap him. And then when Ricker came into it with Maibe I immediately wanted them to be in love. I loved the book. When Alden walked off into the sunset I kind of wanted him to trip on something .

I liked this one better than the previous ones. It wasn't as difficult to follow as far as what was real and what was memory. The writing seemed to be better as far as making things feel more intense during the intense moments. The ending seemed a little bit rushed. I wish there had been a bit more of a *SPOILER***

true resolution as far as a cure, rather than a temporary solution until the diseases mutate again.

*END SPOILER**

All in all, it was a good book, and I enjoyed it.
