Billionaire Wolf Series: Billionaire in Wolf's Clothing (Book 1) A Billionaire Wolf for Christmas (Book 2) Night of the Billionaire Wolf (Book 3)
Love, love, love romance, the paranormal, hunky Highlanders with their delicious brogue and hot kilts, so Terry Spear writes about those hunky Highlanders both in medieval times and as wolves in contemporary times. Jaguar shifters too! And young adult urban fantasy. And romantic suspense.
She grew up reading mystery, adventure, mythologies from around the world, ghost stories, the paranormal, fell in love with Dracula and Wolfman, and felt they needed loving too. Everyone should have someone to love. Which means her stories always have a HEA.
USA Today Bestseller residing in Central Texas from Sacramento, California who creates award-winning teddy bears too!
NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF by Terry Spear is the third book in the Billionaire Wolf series. It is a paranormal romantic suspense novel set mostly in California and it worked well as a standalone novel. Lexi Summerfield is a billionaire and a wolf shifter. She and her personal assistant / bodyguard, Kate Hanover are vacationing at Redwood National Park. However, it is hard to relax when there are paparazzi, ex-boyfriends, and others who are even more dangerous. Then Lexi meets gray wolf shifter and bodyguard Ryder Gallagher who is also on vacation. What happens next is an entertaining story of suspense, action, and romance.
The main characters were compelling and someone you can root for. Their goals were clear and proactive with believable motivations. The supporting characters were well developed as well and the tension made the book a page turner. There were several twists and surprises that enhanced the storyline. The writing was compulsively readable and engrossing. The plot was suspenseful, brisk, absorbing, enjoyable and entertaining. There are several steamy scenes later in the book.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It was well-crafted and I would recommend it to those that read this genre. This is the second book that I have read by this author in 2020 and I look forward to reading more.

There is a lot going on-her "dead" parents, the mobster, mating, make up parties, catty competition...it was just a lot. The story seemed to jump at parts and I had check to see if I accidentally skipped a page. It just felt choppy at times. However, I enjoyed the characters and the intrigue of how all this craziness would pan out.
I have to say Terry Spear is one of my favorite author and love her wolf series. Night of the Billionaire Wolf was a fun and fast pace book once I stay down to read. If you need a book to get your mind off the stresses then this is the book for you. Lexi Summerfield is a wonder character and I liked that she was the billionaire. You don't see that a lot in romance books and it was nice to see. Watching the stresses she had to deal with and how she stayed positive. I am also in love the Ryder Gallagher and I am glad he never strong-arm Lexi into anything. The secondary characters were great and I was glad to see familiar faces. Now I can't wait to buy the paperback when it comes out.

NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF is the third instalment in Terry Spear’s contemporary, adult BILLIONAIRE paranormal romance series, and the twenty-ninth instalment in the author’s HEART OF THE WOLF series. This is wolf shifters billionaire business woman Lexi Summerfield, and security specialist Ryder Gallagher’s story line. NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Lexi and Ryder) NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF follows several paths including the building romance and relationship between wolf shifters billionaire business woman Lexi Summerfield, and security specialist Ryder Gallagher. Lexi Summerfield made her billions in the cosmetic industry but with her father in the witness protection program, and her mother dead in a fiery crash, Lexi found herself the target of Joe Tremaine, a very powerful man, the man her father witnessed murder the DA in cold blood. A few days of R&R with her PA and bodyguard Kate, Lexi would come face to face with wolf shifter and security specialist Ryder Gallagher, the wolf with whom Lexi will fall in love but Lexi struggles with issues of trust believing every man, human or wolf, is after he money, and in this Lexi is reluctant to reveal anything about herself. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Lexi and Ryder, as the couple, along with Kate and Ryder’s partner Mike, find themselves on a treasure hunt, hoping to find the clues, leading to information about our heroine’s father.
Meanwhile, Don Morgan, a paparazzi reporter continues to stalk our story line heroine, a reporter who finds himself caught in the middle when men are sent to take down Lexi Summerfield. Joe Tremaine is desperate to find the location of Lexi’s father, and the continuous barrage of gunmen and assassins he has sent to find Lexi, all will meet their final demise.
The relationship between Lexi and Ryder is slow to develop. Ryder is definitely interested in making Lexi his mate but Lexi’s cold veneer and distant attitude leaves something to be desired. Lexi finds herself on the receiving end of one too many dates and proposals, and in this, ‘dating’ Ryder Gallagher is just another potential male to add to her pile. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text but I struggled to feel any palpable sexual attraction-there were no romantic or discernable emotional ‘feels’ , and a barely perceptible acknowledgement of interest or sexual desire from our story line heroine until seventy-five per-cent of the story wherein Lexi asks Ryder to be her mate…that’s it….no romance, no chemistry, no seduction…only a few kisses…until this particular part of the story. At one point I thought the story was going to focus on Ryder and Kate, or Mike and Kate.
We are introduced to Lexi’s father physician Dr. Kurt and her paediatrician mother Dr. Adelaide Summerfield; Lexi’s PA and bodyguard Kate Hanover; Ryder’s friend and fellow security specialists Mike Stallings and Edward Manning: as well as numerous characters from the author’s Silver Town Wolves (Heart of the Wolf series) including Lelandi and Darien Silver.
NIGHT OF THE BILLIONAIRE WOLF is an engaging story of family , friendships, and vengeance but once again, there is too much telling, not enough showing and plenty of unnecessary and redundant repetition which added to the already slow building story line. The slow building romance is tender; the characters are spirited and energetic. Sadly, this is not one of my favorites.
I’ll begin by saying that I’ve yet to read a Terry Spear book that I didn’t enjoy – sure, some I loved, others I liked, but I’ve always felt at home in her created world that connects in many series through several unique characters. ‘Night of the Billionaire Wolf’ is another story that quickly caught my attention and held it throughout Lexi’s and Ryder’s adventures in danger, laughter, banter, and falling in love. Although this is the third title in the ‘Billionaire Wolf’ series within the overall ‘Heart of the Wolf’ series/world it could be read on its own for any background you might need is given when it makes sense for the story. I would recommend them all for they are great stories, but if this is your first one then sit back and enjoy.
It’s not often that we encounter female billionaires, so Lexi’s fortune, her hard work, and the price she’s paid in so many ways brought a fresh feel to this story. Unfortunately, Lexi is being followed by a load of trouble and annoyances in the form of paparazzi, a crazy stalking reporter, and true danger from those who would harm her in order to get to her father. Wealth comes with downsides, especially in personal relationships when never knowing (or finding out late) when someone is interested in Lexi or Lexi’s money comes into play – and into the wall that she’s built around her emotions. Watching Ryder slowly, steadily tear down those walls was such fun to experience.
We run into old book friends, meet some interesting new characters, discover twists and turns galore, and experience wealth from a slightly different point of view. I enjoyed ‘Night of the Billionaire Wolf’ very much. There were moments that made me smile, some tension-filled moments, times I laughed out loud, and always the sexy moments that steam up the e-reader. I had fun, and that’s the point. If you love a good Shifter or Paranormal Romance with a bit of Romantic Suspense then give ‘Night of the Billionaire Wolf’ a shot – you may end up with a new series to devour.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Sourcebooks Casablanca via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
There seem to be two kinds of paranormals with wolves: ones where the wolves are growly dudes and ones where it's basically a contemporary book with characters who happen to change into wolves. If you have never read a paranormal and they make you uncomfortable, then this is for you. If you like hot and steamy romances with shifters...look elsewhere. As with all the Terry Spear's books, the main characters are virgins because wolves mate for life. The wolves are like a separate part of themselves that they let out to run and that's pretty much it. It's almost like an afterthought and feels unnecessary, honestly.
If you have read and liked one of these (by this author), you will like them all because they all feel the same way. There's never really any danger or high stakes because there is an easy fix to everything. Even the "bad guys" aren't really that bad until the absolute last climax of the book. There are never any adrenaline high-stakes parts where you wonder if the characters will make it out. I was passing whole paragraphs out of boredom.
I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because books like these, where there are practically no triggers, have a place. Sometimes, it's nice to read a safe book. I just won't be keeping it or reading it again because, even though it was a safe read, it was too easy. The characters have to go through hardships for you to root for them. Hard to root for a beyond-rich princess when a hot bodyguard falls into her lap and she has to give absolutely nothing of herself for any part of the book.
Another win for Terry Spear! If you look back into some of my old reviews you'll learn I am a big Terry Spear fan. If you are looking for romance and an upbeat story line she never lets you down. I also have always enjoyed the world she has set up for her wolves. The Lupus Garou shift seamlessly between wolf and human, mate for life, and have strong family bonds. They also tend to be pretty honerable (at least the main characters) so overall they are almost always likable. I've always though if shifters could exist in our world it would have to be more like that. If there was some moon obsessed magical killers running around human would have hunted them into extinction years ago. This book centers on Lexi a smart and wealthy female wolf who has had her world turned upside down after the death of her mom and loss of her dad. Not just dealing with the running of her business but also trying to weed through a sea of suitors who are only after her money. Lucky for Lexi she manages to cross paths with a wolf who is more interested in protecting her and things heat up. I don't want to give any spoilers but I was excited to meet up with some characters from previous books. Having been a long time reader its nice to have a touch base with some old friends. If you enjoy paranormal romance this is a great read.
I love the Heart of the Wolf series. This is number 31 or so, and #3 in the Billionaire Wolf subseries. That's how I keep track of them. Lexi is looking for a hidden message in a national park when she runs into Ryder. He is one of Aiden Denali's bodyguards. Having been pursued by more than one human and male wolf for her money, Lexi is naturally cautious. Ryder has many facets, though, that might work in his favor, especially when the bad guys come calling.
This story has a fast pace, a positive tone and a character oriented storyline with some action and some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and engaging. You can read just the 3 Billionaire Wolf books, or go back to the beginning and start with the original book in the series, Heart of the Wolf. My only complaint was that this book needed a better editing job. There were misused words, like sunset when they had just been watching the sunrise. It was a little disappointing to see that, after waiting for this book to come out. I will say after reading all her wolf, cougar, jaguar and polar bear books, this is the first time I noticed that, so hopefully it is an anomaly. No matter what, the storyline is good and solid and draws you in quickly. Enjoy!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved Lexi and Ryder. They had great chemistry and both were fun characters to read. Neither were the broody type. It was fun watching Ryder try to get around her 3 date rule and watch Kate, Lexi's body guard, encourage it.
Their first meeting is when they both heard bear cubs in distress and attempted to save them. Ryder has no idea who Lexi is, but is instantly attracted to her in that little bear den. After the rescue, they find that they are both staying near each other in the cabins at the park. Once Lexi finds out Ryder is the body guard for Aiden Denali, she relaxes her guard a little more.
The supporting characters in this book made it even more fun to read. While they were in danger due to Lexi's past, they all stilled seemed to being having fun the whole time. Cooking gourmet meals, videoing the men's skin care line, pool parties, rescuing some pups, there was a little bit of everything in here. It was also nice to see some characters from other stories in here including the Denali family and the Silver family.
What a fun book with Lexi, she-wolf with no clan, trying to keep away from hit men that were trying to capture her before killing her, if they could get her to tell where her father was hiding. When she goes to find a message from her father, she meets Ryder and he is definitely a possibility for a mate.
Along the way, there is a lot of action as they are on the run from thugs, a crazy paparazzi, and has to figure out why Lexi's company is getting negative reviews from a disgruntled Silky,Springs. Also, there is a surprise when Lexi meets up with her father.
It was great that the book included so many from previous books - we get to go to Silver Town and the Silver pack, there is an appearance from the doctors that came up with the cure for the wolf longevity issue, and there were several mentions of Derek Spencer. I don't remember him so I will have to go back to previous books, or maybe he will be in a future book??
Looking forward to the next books in the series because I want to know who Kate is thinking is mate-worthy!!
3.5 Hearts All in all this is a good read. So many books have the man be the rich one but in this one Lexi is the Billionaire and Ryder is a shifter who is hired to be her bodyguard.
The story was typical of Spear and her shifter books. The problem is that you can only write so many books before the same story is played out over and over. And having read a lot of her books I feel like it is nothing we haven’t read before. I like the way that Spear writes which is why I keep getting her books but I sure wish she would head to a different genre for a bit.
Now that being said the characters of Lexi and Ryder are good together and the romance is good as well. Another good read from Spear.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Lexi Summerfield is a single woman, owner of Clair de Lune Cosmetics, a billionaire, and a wolf shifter. When she meets gray wolf and bodyguard Ryder Gallagher on vacation in Redwood National Park, she feels the attraction. But between people trying to kill her and trying to meet with her father, now in the Witness Protection Program, she needs protection and hires him, admiring his human physical form. Wolves mate for life, you know, and that is serious stuff. Ryder feels the attraction, also, and will do what he has to do to keep Lexi safe.
This is a sci-fi meets light sex genre. It’s a little light on storyline and heavy on the sexual aspect. If that’s not a problem, it might be a good summer read.
I liked that this wasn't your typical billionaire book, instead we had the woman with all the money and the guy bodyguard/cook. I also loved that there was no drama between them in their relationship. They liked each other, spent time together amid working through the trouble that Leix was in, through it all Lexi called the shots, Ryder just happy to be around her, although there were subtle ways he let Lexi know he was interested and pushed other guys away.
The drama with Lexi's family was a bit crazy, but it ended well, with them finding a new place to belong and Lexi getting them back again.
Terry Spear is always consistent. Just great! Has a bit of everything some intrigue, mystery and romance. Lexi Summerfeld has built up a billion dollar cosmetics industry. But she doesn't know who to trust and it is even more difficult in the romance department. Lexi is on vacation in the Redwoods National Park. She meets Ryder Gallagher who is a wolf shifter like herself and a bodyguard. Lucky for her that they did meet up as it seems she will need some help getting rid of some thugs that are tracking her. The thugs are hoping by tracking her they will be led to her father who is in the witness protection program. Plenty of action and romance and in great outdoor settings!
Another satisfying read from Terry Spear! If you are not already a fan of her shifter wolves, you need to read this book and it will convert you. This lovely read is set in Terry Spear's existing world, but is the beginning of a new series. Lexi is a billionaire with a complicated life and a father in witness protection. We get to follow her life dealing with ruthless business competitors right along with her romance that begins with a rescue of baby bears!
This is a fast paced story that takes off from the very beginning and follows through to the end. This is my first book by terry Spear and I really enjoyed it!
The MC Lexi is a strong character and she is well developed. I loved the dynamics that Ryder brings to the story and they have great banter and interactions. This is a fun fast read and a great book to try if you like a good shifter romance.
I received this book from NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an honest review.
An interesting and fast-paced shifter story. There's a mystery, danger, a few laughs, and some steamy smexy-times. I really enjoyed the MCs,Lexi and Ryder, and thought they were great together. It was also fun to see characters from another of Ms. Spear's series in this book. Overall, a fun read.
Thank you to the publisher, Sourcebooks, and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
Lexi Summerfield is on a mission to get in contact with her father. Ryder Gallagher is on vacation. A chance meeting to help bear cubs in danger. It’ll bring these two wolves together on an adventure of their lives. Will he change her mind about her three-limit date rule? Can she find the father everyone believes is dead? What happens when these two works together with their friends to survive the danger to find love? They’ll need to rely on each other to survive The Night of the Billionaire Wolf.
Terry Spear continues the Billionaire Wolves series with a unique take with a woman in charge and with the power and money. With danger following her and an intrusive reporter on her heels she must risk her life for a person she loves. A rescue mission brings to people meant to be together. Danger, suspense combines to bring these characters to a point they can find love and realize they are meant for each other. A story that has surprises and danger that you won’t be able to put down. Terry Spear at her very best, and a favorite author of mine. Looking forward to the next book in this series and any other she’s working on. Stay in for a Night with the Billionaire Wolf.
Terry Spear books are great if your into werewolves. ! Lexis is a billionaire staying in the redwoods looking for her father when they run into bear cubs in danger . She and Katie would’ve been in danger with the water rising as fast as it was . Ryder takes the bear 🐻 cubs across the water to their mom . They were trapped in a den . Lexis dad was in witness protection because he saw someone kill a DA ! Love ❤️ Terry’s books !
this is the third book in this series. Can be read as a standalone. I found it a fast read with a good romance and a bit of intrigue . Lexi and Ryder meet on vacation she is rich he is a bodyguard who happens to be a wolf shifter. She is being followed by someone out to get her and he will do what he can to protect her and keep her. all in all an enjoyable read.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebook/Casablanca Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This was a fun book. Different perspective-the woman is the billionaire! Enjoyed the dynamics between Lexi and Ryder. To be honest the parent part, I found quite odd. Still a good read. 3.5 stars
This is the third book in the series. Only reason I read past book 1 was because I got the books from the library. Didn’t finish this one. Theoretically I should have enjoyed these but there was either too much explanation, too much going on, or …. I did have a hard time with how quickly they knew they were the one. I think it’s a premise of these shapeshifters but that wasn’t well explained.
Throw in some chemistry, a little danger, hitmen, wolves, a nosy reporter, you have a very satisfying shape-shifter romantic adventure of a billionaire she-wolf and a bodyguard wolf shifter. If you like the first three books, be sure to mark your calendar for WOLF TAKES THE LEAD, coming out on February 7, 2023.
I really tried to get into this but it was just not good. The h was boring as shit n the H was just as bad. I felt no connection half way through book n just skipped to end. I felt that was a dumb as the rest of book.
Well written story of a billionaire young woman/wolf and a bodyguard/wolf
Lexi and Ryder meet each other while Lexi is on vacation with her personal assistant/wolf Kate. They are looking for a message from Lexie's Dad and despite heartships fall inlove.
The third book in Billionaire Wolf, Night of the Billionaire is a paranormal romance and tells the story of Lexi and Ryder. I like this story, the characters were great, but I did feel there was unnecessary repetition in parts. I will read more of this series and by this author
I loved how Ryder swooped in to help rescue the cubs without thinking about it. The chemistry between Lexi and Ryder was believable and the storyline was good. This was my first book in this series but not the last!
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
Emotionally thrilling, sexy, exciting and action packed journey filled with magical and dangerous charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Was a edge of your seat read from beginning to end.
The premise of this book is different enough to not be boring or over done. The characters are likable. Some plot points are a bit rushed. It is worth the read. I rate this a Middle heat level with some adult times.
