As Grace and Levi make final preparations for war, more truths and surprises shake their resolve. Loyalties divide and priorities shift as the battle begins. Grace makes tough decisions for her family, her people, and the human world.
While attacking Brockton's stronghold in the Winter Palace, the veil weakens and the Wild Hunt is unleashed. The gruesome horde of Wild fairies is headed for the Otherworld border with their first stop being Shady Grove.
Death looms over the exiles as they struggle to defeat the evil which intends to change the existence of life forever.
In war, there are always casualties. Who will the exiles lose? Is the price of victory worth the life of their Queen?
Pitchin' a Hissy Fit is the 14th book in Kimbra Swain's Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen.
From early in life Kimbra Swain was indoctrinated in the ways of geekdom. Raised on Star Wars, Tolkien, Superheroes and Voltron, she found herself immersed in a world of imagination. She started writing in high school, and completed her English degree from the University of Alabama in 2003. Her writing is influenced by a gamut of authors including Jane Austen, J.R.R. Tolkien, L.M. Montgomery, Timothy Zahn, Kathy Reichs, Kevin Hearne and Jim Butcher. Born and raised in Alabama, Kimbra still lives there with her husband and 5 year old daughter. When she isn't reading or writing, she plays PC games, makes jewelry and builds cars.

It's time for the war for Winter and the wait was worth it! Grace and Levi, family and friends are all drawn in to play a role in the battle. Some are sadly lost and things don't go as reader's may be expecting. Many questions are answered and things are revealed that begin to set up for future spin-off series'. There are some shocks, some twists, lots of action, romance, death, love, tension, and suspense. Add in snarky humor plus zany antics and this one is an emotional roller coaster making it one of the best of the series. I can't wait for Amazing Grace but I will be so sad to see this series end.
While this is not the last book, it is an ending of sorts. This book has a very final feel to it. Many of the things in previous books are resolved or at least feel like they have been. Like Grace says, "Who knows, this is Shady Grove." I got to the end and kept trying to get the page to turn for more. This book made me laugh, cry and get angry all at the same time.
I cried so hard. There was so much to take in. So much loss. There were some happy... Continuations and reunions. There are some questions left to be answered. I spent the night reading with all sorts of silent tears running down my face. It was amazing.
Well we finally had the final battle and lost lots of people. Some have be given new roles and a new world has come. It seemed like we have been waiting for this war for lots of books. I hate the way that we have lost Nester in a way, he was a pillar in the town. I wonder what is in store next.

This is the book I have needed and dreaded since becoming hooked on the Trailerverse. My favorite thing about Kimbra Swain’s books, besides the crystal clear writing, is all the details and backstories of characters, subplot upon plot upon subplot with 0 plot holes and it’s pure magic. I wasn’t sure how Kimbra would be able to pull it off without missing pieces, but Pitchin’ a Hissy Fit proves she is a master of her craft because she did just that. So much action, so much happening that once it set it... it hit me big! Without any spoilers I will say it’s an emotional rollercoaster that has you laughing, crying, spittin’ mad, and in awe. I was left felt heartache, relief and excitement for what’s to come. One book left, 14 books published in this series and it’s a long one.. one of the only series that has continued to provide quality and amazing story telling time and time again.
Now it’s a new dawn, but are our characters ready? I know I am. Can’t wait for Amazing Grace.
The 14th book in Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen is fun, fightful, and festive. I strongly suggest reading the first 13 in the series prior to this one.You need to read the first baker's dozen, it will make this one so much more fun!
Grace, Levi, and co. are taking the fight to where it belongs. Of course, life isn't so simple so the fight may come to them as well.
Author Swain's writing is tight and clear. Each character has a distinct voice and the storyline moves at a smooth pace. The way she weaves the threads of past events together is one of the things that makes reading her work a delight.
Highly recommended.
I received a copy of this book and have chosen to review it.
Well, it finally happened. We all knew it would. The gang went to war in Winter. There is heartbreak, laughter, sorrow, sarcasm and love. There is also some measure of bliss.
This is a hard book to get through. As always, it is written beautifully and the story flows easily. You won’t want to put it down except when you want to deal with its emotional ramifications.
Obviously, people have to die. (Important people have to die too.) Kimbra handles this with such kindness and grace that you almost, almost, forget that death is the opposite of life. She manages the character reactions beautifully and helps us through it all. She also gives us plenty of love and hope.
The world that Kimbra has created in Shady Grove is supernaturally superb. Pitchin' a Hissy Fit hits all the feels. Laughter, love, sadness, pain, betrayal but mostly joy. Shady Grove, Grace and Levi have become home and family in my reading world. I have enjoyed every book in this Fairy Tales of a Tailer Park Queen series and they just keep getting better. The characters evolve and get more in-depth. Fairys, magic , wolves and various other shifter animals, banshees, and many other fantastical beings. This is a wonderfully unique world. Very well written. I will be a Kimbra Swain can forever.
Kimbra does it again! Tugs at your heart, makes you laugh out loud, gasp, cry, scream, and yell all within the span of this wonderful book. Even as your screaming and can’t believe your eyes at what she has written, it just FITS with the story and the voice, even while you want to deny it. It’s rare an author can get the emotions that Kimbra can evoke and this book was so beautifully done in that way. You FEEL this characters. They become a part of you. Be prepared to not put this book down till you are down. There is no safe calm point to stop till the end.
Stayed up the entire night and read the entire book. Well played Kimbra well played, I have now experienced the entire gauntlet of human emotions in less then 5 hours... If my husband woulf have witnessed it he might have considered a nut ward. Cracking up with tears still on my cheeks, panicking while while rooting for team trailerpark ..... Smirking at sexy sass all while trying to read slower to make it last longer lmao Perfection. This one was just right enough of everything while not so much we felt the need to quit before it broke something in us.
There is so much happening in this book. Simply fantastic read doesn't begin to cover it!
Pitchin' a Hissy Fit has me equal parts laughing and crying. The full emotional spectrum was hit in this, my favorite Trailer Park Queen book yet! I love the vivid descriptions of both characters and scenes. It took my breath away! I felt pulled into the story from the opening scene and I left a bit of myself in the pages. Kimbra Swain is a master wordsmith and has woven her spell in and around all her stories. This book is magic in its purest form.
Ms. Swain has done it again! I started the book as soon as I downloaded it and I couldn't put it down. The story was great, fast-paced and well told as usual. I laughed and I cried and I just loved how the characters dealt with their situation. Once again, I am grateful that Ms. Swain has invited into her world with her wonderful stories. Am looking forward to the next book in the series. Bravo, Ms. Swain, bravo.
The latest book in this well loved series, takes our intrepid hero's and ourselves into war to reclaim the throne of winter. Into this rather frightening scenario all of the trailer park will be involved. The writing is crisp and details the emotions involved in this effort. Read this book. If you haven't read the series, go back and read them in order. These books may be read as individual books, but are really better, read as a series.
Yall this book was so emotional I cried happy tears i cried sad tears. I cant wait for the 15th and final book but I dont want this series to end. Although I'm excited to read the new spin off series Kimbra has in the works. I dont want to give any spoilers away. My advice is to read this series asap
Another excellent story from the wonderful Kimbra Swain. Levi is delectable, as always, and keeping Grace grounded and on her toes. (Boy has skills... whew!)
Full of the sass we love, drama, and more than a few tugs at the old heartstrings, Pitchin a Hissy Fit will leave you doing anything but. (Ok, maybe a small one, but you’ll be ok. Promise)
Where do I begin!? So many emotions reading this one. Kimbra has once again managed to draw you right back into the world of Shady Grove and Grace. A few twists that I didn't want to see coming...and some loose ends still waiting to be tied up. If you haven't started this series yet, you need to! Can't wait for the next (and last...boo) book to arrive!
Absolutely outstanding. Things finally come to a head as Grace & company head off to war. But no plan survives contact with the enemy. As the occupational forces of Winter throw swerve after swerve, questions arise. Can they win? Who will make it back? Will they experience further betrayals? A beautifully crafted, action-packed roller coaster.
As the series is winding down, this book brings so many feelings to the surface. There's a huge battle, surprises, and of course, some doors close while others open(no spoilers). Southern humor abounds and the love of family is ever present. I loved every minute & can't wait for the final installment!
We finally get to the Battle of Winter. Once again I laughed and cried as I followed Grace and her Shady Grove followers. Kimbra has once again sucked me so far into this world that it is actually uncomfortable stepping back into the real world at first. Love this series and encourage anyone looking for a sassy heroine to pick up this series.
This book had me laughing, and crying! Sometimes at the same time! As always, this was an amazing read. Cletus and Tator will forever be some of my favorite book characters with their antics. Grace and Levi will as well, for a completely different reason. Love, love, love! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for the trailer park!
I'm waiting for the next book in this series and I sure hope that there will be a spin off series as this will be the last book in Fairy tales of a Trailer Park Queen.Thank you KimbaSwain for writing such a good series,I'm hoping to read a lot more of your books.
As with all Kimbra's books this one was a great read. Everything is falling into place and the series will come to an end in the next book due in September. Will be sorry to no longer be reading about Grace, Levi etc but look forward to reading whatever Kimbra publishes in the future as she is a fantastic author. Highly recommend this series.
Oh boy this book was alot. I am sad that it's coming to an end but the characters have grown quite a bit and still have an honest ending. Wish the battle was bigger but that was never the point of the book, so open up and enjoy
Have you ever wondered what the outcasts of Shady Grove did to be banished? The war for Winter and Shady Grove begins and nobody is safe. Secrets are revealed and some of them will cause your jaw to drop. This one left me ugly crying a few times, so have your box of tissues ready!
Just wow! I hate to see this series end! It has been a wild ride and I have loved it all! I still have a bit of a struggle with some of the language but I love Grace's wild and sassy side! So it's a hard sell! Great read!
A jumble of emotions in this one, not as bad as when we lost Dylan. Life, death, rebirth, redemption and a few open questions remain. I'm both looking forward to and dreading the last book.
The war we've been waiting for! It's on and in true kimbra fashion you feel like you are there living through every emotion. You will laugh and cry and scream because this has been coming for a long time and no one gets out clean. A truly beautiful book maybe the best in the series.
Grace and Levi's life just keeps having twists and turns on their way to winning Winter. There are more secrets revealed and tears shed. Kimbra Swain has done an excellent job of bringing ALL these characters to life. I am eagerly waiting and dreading the final book.
Wow, there was so much happening in this story. The battle, the losses, the saved, the new world, the family, the love, the pain, and of course the humor. Everything I was looking for and so much more!
