Colitis

Colitis means 'inflammation of the large bowel' (the colon). As a condition it can be painful and debilitating but it can also be managed and in some case reduced within the lives of its suffers to a minor inconvenience. Most of this book is devoted to ulcerative colitis and Crohn's, with chapters on how to distinguish these inflammatory bowel diseases from irritable bowel, diverticular disease and colon cancer.
