The Hiram Key #4

The Book of Hiram

Rate this book
This is the extraordinary story of Knight and Lomas's fourteen-year quest to uncover the secret teachings buried beneath Roslin Chapel near Edinburgh. Their quest ends with startling revelations about early human history - the origins of Christianity, of Freemansonry, and of science. They show that all were charged with a belief in a secret cosmic code linking, for example, the Exodus from Egypt, the founding of Solomon's Temple and the Star of Betlehem.

The Book of Hiram will change everything you thought you knew about both the Bible and Freemasonry.

Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name.

Christopher Knight is an author who has written several books dealing with pseudoscientific conspiracy theories such as 366-degree geometry and the origins of Freemasonry.
In an interview about the book Who Built the Moon?: 2005 Knight stated that the moon is an artificial construction probably built by humans with a message in "base ten arithmetic so it looks as though it is directed to a ten digit species that is living on Earth right now - which seems to mean humans." He believes that it was created to make life on Earth possible, including humans, and that the most likely builders were humans of the future using time travel.

I read this book with no initial information about it, it was a swap with a friend while traveling. The book was very interesting with lots of information on historical events and religion and how it progressed. I enjoyed the book when I got towards the end of the first section as it was then I started to understand what it was about. The book looking into masonic ritual and writes a timeline of history, it tries to explain some of the historical mysteries such as the star of Bethlehem and the origins of the great builders in the areas including and surrounding Jerusalem. I found some interesting facts dotted throughout but I do realize this book wasn't really meant for me.
With the phrase on the back stating "this book will change everything you know about Freemasonry and the Bible", and me not knowing anything about either beforehand or very little at least, id take this review with a grain of salt.
That being said if you have the time on your hands and are curious about Freemasonry I'd definitely recommend it.

Although some interesting pieces of information are revealed during the book, the overall argument doesn't hold together well. One senses that the authors themselves even feel disappointed by what conclusions they reach at the end, and appear to clutch desparately at straws to find some hidden scientific truths in astrology to try and salvage something meaningful.

CELE MAI VECHI MISTERE ALE NATURII ŞI ŞTIINŢEI

Francmasoneria moare.

I found this book an interesting account about the Freemasons, why Hiram was killed, and some of the life of the Prophet Jesus. Although I am still curious about a few things, but I will keep searching and reading. I encourage anyone interested in this subject to get this book to read.

i love this book- but then again, i am a nut for all things mysterious and esoteric... i especially love the "book of hiram" in the last half of this book. it's a collection/compilation of all the freemason texts the authors could find.

i actually love this entire series, especially how they piece together a new picture of history. i think it allows the reader to open their mind up to different and new possibilities.

I've been impressed with the other books in this series and had set high hopes. This is really two books in one. The first followed their typical approach by positing an alternative (speculative) versions of history, then drawing on a variety of resources to strengthen their conclusion. Ultimately, it is up to the reader to make their own decisions. The second book, "The Masonic Testament", was much more interesting and outlined masonic myths and history into one sections.

This book links disparate sources into an interesting and reasonable revision of history that has significant implications for world culture, especially in the context of the current influence of middle-eastern theologies.
Important Disclosure:
I am a fan of all manner of esoterica and theological intrigue.

If you like conspiracy, an alternate view of history, Christianity, Judaism, and Jesus, this book is for you. Well researched and well written. This is the second book I read from the authors and haven't been dissapointed yet. Although, I must admit Hiram was much easier to read and understand than Holy Blood Holy Grail. Their writing skills have much improved since the 1970s.

Two Freemasons try to get to the root of the their secretive club's mumbo-jumbo, they dug so much that they fell down 'a rabbit hole' - well the book kinda sounded like that.
I generally like the authors' researches - this is a bit thicker book mostly concentrating on the origins of Masonry. Very Informative and very Satanic I say :)

Also a book that derived from my interest in secret societies. This breaks down the complet history of masons, etc. But from the stand-point of members. Good history, great secrets...good read.

Interesting, in-depth investigation into the symbolic history of the Masons, and how it intersects with Christian traditions and pre-Christian star-worship.

A lot of ifs and maybes and extending some theories beyond their reach. Some good to know information but more of a fiction than reality.

The authors work on a theme and it's evident they're very good at joining the dots. Very well researched and when taken as part of the series, they provide a lot of insight.
