Montana Westward Brides reading order: #0 The Rancher's Fiery Bride #1 The Reckless Doctor's Bride #2 The Rancher's Unexpected Pregnant Bride
I am a shameless romance addict with no intentions of ever kicking the habit. Growing up I dreamed of entertaining people and taking them on fantastical journeys with my acting abilities, until I came to the realization as a college sophomore that I had none to speak of. Another ten years would pass before I discovered a different means to accomplishing the same dream: writing stories of love and passion for addicts just like me.I have always loved romance stories and I try to tie all the elements I like about them into my writing.
This was a quick read but unfortunately I didn’t feel any connection with the characters. If it had been a little longer I might have got to know the characters better, it all seemed a little rushed. Gray’s background was just explained quickly towards the end. As for Martha, I couldn’t understand how she didn’t have any funds of her own, having sold up the family’s ranch. I feel this review seems a bit harsh as other reviewers really enjoyed it, maybe it just wasn’t for me. I received a copy from eBooks Discovery and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
There were some decent ideas as far as plot went, although the execution wasn't very good. The characters were both unlikable in my opinion and there didn't seem to be much chemistry between them or reason for them to fall in love and several reasons why they shouldn't.
The text itself, especially descriptions of the MCs was kind of repetitive in many places. There were a number of spelling and word errors (neither the author or editor know that the word "too" exists instead of "to" or "the Slaters are still going to want her hear."-the last two words should be "you here") and it's that kind of thing throughout the book. My personal favorite: "“Mary Carver,” Martha replied, becoming accustomed to the new name."... Except before that she'd been Mary Carter, so I guess she wasn't so accustomed to it after all, although for the rest of the book it was "Carver". Clunky sentence structure like "Taking a deep breath, he put on his mask of emotions and went in."... Put on a mask to hide his emotions?, carefully masked his emotions?- The intent was there, the sentence structure changes the meaning entirely.
The biggest thing was the no research to make it at all believable. As much as possible without spoilers... putting a "few bills" on the table more than once for a simple meal, her being a waitress in a restaurant that seemed much more modern and another huge mistake when valuing money that I can't say without a spoiler but which would just need a simple google search to make realistic.
Picked up on Kindle Unlimited where it is available at the time of review. I am literally the target audience for this book, but sadly I can't recommend it.
Martha grew up in Wisconsin and ended up in Montana after a few string of events that were not happy ones in her life. She ended up in a town while running from her past where she saw an ad from Gray Jenkins for a mail order bride. He is an older ranch hand that has finally decided to settle down. She ends up travelling to his city without knowing if he got her last letter and she surprises him. Both did not expect to find love but they did. They also have a few battles including trust issues to be together. It ended up being a sweet book. It was a typical mail order bride book with a few different twists in the plot. Quick and easy read and nothing too terrible that would make you not want to read the book. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review. The opinions in this review are 100% my own.
she was running from the man she was supposed to marry. she found him with another woman and he sold her to a man to do with as he wished. she got away and stole the mans $5000
she kept traveling and answered a ad for mail order bride. he was a older ranch hand
she got to his town and they liked each other. the man broke into her room when she was at the ranch and took and destroyed everything. she figured out she was preg by him
he was killed and then the other man came and kidnapped her and tried to get his money back but she didnt have it. hes the one that killed the other man
turned out the lady in town had taken her money to keep it safe, so she got it back. she told the ranch hand the truth and he still married her and they built a house. she was going into business with the preg lady of the ranch
Having made the worst mistake of her life, Martha is pregnant, afraid and on the run. En route to finding a new home, Martha reads an advert for a mail order bride and before she knows it, she finds herself in Spruce Valley meeting Gray Jenkins, a man who is somewhat older than her, but a gentleman nevertheless. Unfortunately, Martha's past catches up with her and she is forced to reveal the truth about her situation to Gray and the people who have taken her in. This sweet romance speaks of an era when law and order were still being established and women on their own faced unspeakable dangers. Despite her history, Martha is a strong woman who is determined not to allow those who meant to harm her win the day. Gray's ability to see beyond the obvious is very much in his favour and I loved his gentlemanly approach towards Martha. This book is obviously a part of a series, but it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. Although I purchased this novel a while back, I did also receive a copy of this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
Heart break, despair and danger are feelings that Grey and Martha both know well, can they confide their secrets and find a safe and happy future together? We get to see a new Grey in this book, a softer, more protective side emerges once he meets Martha, he still keeps his dry sense of humour and his 'stern face' for work, but relaxes and embraces the thought of a future. Martha may have been cheated, fooled and sold but she has not been broken, just made very wary. However, something about Grey calls to her, makes her feel safe....until her past finds her....can anyone save her or will her worst nightmare become reality? Another great book in this series, gripping, it once again packs a punch and keeps you hooked.
The Rancher's Unexpected Pregnant Bride: Historical Western Mail Order Bride Romance Montana Westward Brides, Book 2 By: Amelia Rose
This is a mail order bride, western historical fiction. Martha / Mary runs away from the saloon girl job, her former fiancee sold her into. Gray is an older ranch
hand. When the two meet up the story unfolds. Lots of twists and turns and enough to keep the listener entertained. Enjoyable without a lot of fluff.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by John E. Rose.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is a beautiful story of love in new beginnings. Forgiveness and a new start are Martha's themes of her life as she answers a mail-order bride ad. Betrayal and fear are what she knew in the past couple years as the ones she loved left and betrayed her in the worst way possible. She is a strong woman and escapes the awful circumstances, and now she's trying to start over. The ranch in a small town seems like the perfect place and the rancher, the perfect one to help her without them getting too overly attached. It makes for a geniunely intriguing story as she arrives in town, with her past on her heels. She is a feisty redhead and captures the town's attention. I loved the story and highly recommend it! Thanks to ebook discovery who provided the complimentary ebook and the chance to read such a compelling story... I'm happy to review it. I look forward to reading more by this author, Amelia Rose.
Martha left Wisconsin on the run from her ex-fiance, who conveniently dumped her in another town at a saloon. Martha thought she met the love of her life. Now she is on her own with the hope of meeting Gray Jenkins. Gray put an ad in the newspaper for a mail-order-bride, but Gray did not plan on everything that came with Martha once she arrived. An easy read with the promise of a new start. Touches of mystery and suspense along the way. I received this book for free from Ebook Discovery. I volunteered to review it and this is my honest review.
This was a great book. I enjoyed getting to know Martha and Gray in the book. Martha had a rough life after her father died. She was a brave woman who took matters into her hands. I loved the strength of her character as she travels. Gray had a past and is wise in the ways of the world. I liked his integrity. This was an enjoyable read with some good characters. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys clean historical fiction. I recieved a copy of this book from ebook discovery. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.
The Rancher's Unexpected Pregnant Bride: Historical Western Mail Order Bride Romance
Grey watched every day what his life could be if only he would get the courage to put a add in the paper for a bride, and have the patience to wait for a reply, and hope that it came from the right woman. Quite daunting for a man of any age, much less a man that had lived as much as he had. Who was to guess that fate had This perfect woman for this man who could make his life complete, if the people trailing her will let her life long enough. Great 👍Read!!!!!ll
A sweet and endearing story. Martha is running away from a bad situation. Gray is at a point in his life when he wants a wife and family. This is a story about a woman’s determination not to remain a victim. With the help of Gray and his friends she is able to banish her fears and find happiness for the future.
The book is a short but nice read. Martha having had a bad experience with her ex, fled from the salon where he sold her to another town where she wants to be the mail order bride of Gray. Unfortunately, her past caught up with her and also discovered that she's pregnant... "I received this book from eBook discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
Martha thought she had a bright future with Jared but he traded her and she escaped a living hell and found a Mail Order Bride ad and started writing to a man named Grey Jenkins This book has fear, drama, murder and of course Romance. I enjoyed this book very much. Keep up the good writing, Amelia..

Martha comes with a horrible past. She took control and saved herself only to read a article in the paper for a wife. Grey sees the love that his boss and his wife have and decides to turn in his bad boy belt for a family one instead. Add in past villains and you had an amazing tale.
This was a quick read. Unfortunately I really couldn’t connect with the characters. I did enjoy the story. I felt there were missing pieces. I received this book from eBook Discovery. I am voluntarily posting this review. This is my honest review.
I enjoyed the story very much. I liked the characters. A good, satisfying ending.
Frustrated .... Many grammatical errors and awkward sentences. I highlighted some of them. She signs her letters Mary Carter, then introduces herself as Carver.
This book was very good. I didn't want to put it down. This is the second book in this series that I have really enjoyed and hated to put down. Will definitely read more by Amelia. She makes the books exciting and spellbinding.
Not everyone has happily ever after when deceived by an evil man. Get to know Gray and Martha, two people with less than stellar pasts, make a true love honorable match. Of course there is some drama with a twist thrown in also!
This was a quick read that drew you into the story right from the beginning. I enjoyed the storyline -focusing on slightly older characters with “less than perfect” pasts. The touches of suspense, romance, mystery and hope worked very well to make the story complete. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
I have to admit I didn’t expect much, as I was not impressed with the first book. But this one proved to be much more interesting, from beginning to the end, not a single boring moment 🤓
