Rate this book

Trials and Tribulations is a completed boxed set part of the Best-Selling Kurtherian Gambit Series

Risk be Damned:

Risking One's Heart is often harder than Risking One's life.

When you have made a point of not doing risking love for a thousand years... You wonder if the promise is worth the pain...

Sometimes... Risk Be Damned, your heart doesn't ask permission.

Stephen, Michael's brother, is charged with finding out what is happening to Wechselbalg in Europe and uncovers a sinister plot. Jennifer is working this operation with him.

While the Queen is watching from above.

How will the two of them work together, as Stephen tries to deal with handling a true romance for the first time in centuries? How often will Bethany Anne tease him?

How often will he go too far protecting Jennifer?

Emotions in turmoil, Stephen, and Jennifer deal with someone who knows too much about the UnknownWorld, and has plans to use it.

Damned to Hell:

Risking One's Heart is often harder than Risking One's life.
Jennifer is in a bind, and that doesn't even stop to consider she got herself stuck right in the spider's castle.
No, she did something a little rash, more for herself, than anything else. The problem is she knows she has hurt her very new boyfriend and God only knows how he was taking it.
The reunion with a man over a thousand-years old might be a bit tense.
However, at the end of the day, Jennifer and Stephen are part of the Queen's team and while the emotions for each other run high, they will get the job done.
Along with everyone else on the team.
While all of this is going on, the Queen has a special set of purchases that are wanted by others, so they can track where she is.
And team BMW are trying to figure out who can brew the best beer of all.

To Hell and Back:

Hugo’s plan to use the Wechselbag as slaves has been thwarted - Jennifer and Stephen made sure he died.

Painfully.

The Wechselbag Hugo had stolen are freed and safe, and theythoughttheir work was done.

They were wrong.

The problem? One Wechselbag who survived Hugo’s torture has come to the conclusion that the only way to keep his people safe…

Is to kill every human he can get to. He’s rallying Wechselbag to his side and is ready to launch a war that will cost thousands of innocent lives.

Stephen failed to keep his house in order once.

He won’t make the same mistake again.

Trials and Tribulations is part of The Kurtherian Gambit Universe set between books 13 and 14. Loosely, these three years are called "The Dark Years" or "The Lost Years."

The Dark Years - when the Trials and Tribulations of being merciful were shouldered by Bethany Anne and her people.

About the author

Natalie Grey

43 books91 followers
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

surprise

I mentioned in a review of another book in the Kurtherian Universe that one of the great things about these books is the Author’s notes. Imagine my delight find out that the wonderful Natalie Grey has also written under the name Moira Katson and that I already own some of her books. You need to. Heck out anything written under either name as she is a brilliant writer.

And Michael Anderle, my hat goes off to you for connecting with other brilliant authors and helping readers become aware of all the awesome talent out there. With all the Kurtherian books out there that I have still yet to read, I really don’t need to add anything to my ‘to read’ list. However, discovering new authors through this series means my list continues to grow faster than I can read the books. Now….. which one do I read next?

Stephen and Jennifer...smooth sailing

I love the TKG world. Stephen is a character that's prominent in the TKG world but there's not as much of him in Bethany Ann's side of TKG as I would have liked to see so...in saying that, I'm pleased to see he gets his own books along with Jennifer.

Stephen is old fashioned and always seem so reserved even in his own books but Jennifer is like a wondrous day of sunshine for him. She brings love and companionship back to his life and let's him be youthful again.

The series was good. I've found that I like the authors writing style. Even with lots going on, she is able to keep each book interesting. Her writing style is smooth. Everything flows nicely while still ensuring the storyline stays true to the characters. Kudos Ms. Grey!

Kurtherian Gambit fans rejoice, here are more stories

In this series, Steven and Jennifer discover that werewolves in Europe and northern Asia are being abducted, imprisoned and tortured. The reason, a Spaniard, descended from Spanish nobility wants to form a private army of werewolves. Steven and Jennifer meet new allies and form a tight unit of people willing to do anything to free the captives. The stories delve into issues such as PTSD, guilt and vengeance. There is still action, drama and loads of humour throughout the three stories.

Captivating read

OMG, so glad we get to hear, see and read more on Stephen and Jennifer. Natalie Grey certainly does justice writing on these two characters. My absolute favourite part in this collection is the fact that Bethany Ann has a container of shoes to go into space with and the fact that she had team BMW trying to ensure they were not traced on their way to her.
Now to see what’s next to read in the Kutherian Gambit Universe.

Another good one!

Somehow, I’d missed this series! I was looking for something else to read in the KGU, and stumbled upon a series that I’d never seen (not entirely shocking, given how many books there are). I’m SO glad I found this. It was wonderful to go back to a, dare I say, simpler time, before TQB really took off (I’m trying to avoid spoilers), and reconnect with some characters I hadn’t read in a while. Well worth the read, and I highly recommend it.

This series is Great!

The cast of characters is fabulous and endearing! The villains are truly loathing, and the story is breathtaking and ends very well!

There is just one problem. Barnabas did help Marcus not William, Peter helped William not Bobcat, and Richard and Simon didn't help anyone in the Beer Contest Lance set up.

Stephen and Jennifer!

A great set of stories with lot of great action

A lot of thinking, character development and life choice’s

Many insightful thoughts - I really liked the one when they were in the middle of many planned “actions” and thought about what was after, like a great steak dinner at a great French restaurant!

Thank you

I just keep getting amazed and drawn into these books.

I'm looking forward to continuing through the series. I looked up the order online. So been swapping back and forth to read it in chronological order. Keep writing so we all have something great to read please.

Wolves

A good story, explained a few things people and missions that I didn't know about. I really enjoyed learning about the backgrounds of some of the characters.

Good read

I enjoyed reading this Series, it is set in a future or alternative reality. The world is infested with labs set on control of were- people. Getting did of the man in charge and freeing as many people as possible is the goal.
