Ok. Congrats for writing a book and getting it published. One star! My dream has always been to be an author, a good author, not just a published one. So i do realize and appreciate your effort. It is scary to have perfect strangers totally demolish one's creation and critique the research or lack there of. So the author or authors took a big premature leap into turning rough drafts into a published book before fine tuning through the employment of a professional editor. It appears that the author(s) skipped this extremely important step in the writing process. Please do not invent the wheel for becoming an author and self publisher. These professionals are her to help you present the best writing you have to share with the world. Stick to the tried and true path of working with a publishing house. Good luck!!
This story kept me on my toes, never a dull moment. The author kept me guessing as to who killed Lizzy. Every time I had it figured out, something would happen and give me another idea. I guessed the killer and dismissed it right away as an easy target. But there were several of those. The reason was not expected, although, looking back, I could see it now. Great character development. You grew to even love the characters that you didn't like at the beginning. While the love choice was better for the main character, I secretly wished for the first. I thought they had better chemistry. I highly recommend it. Can't wait for book 2!
Chasing Peace is a riveting novel by Alaine Greyson. She dives deep into important issues, like drug addiction, which plague our world. She explores how drugs can change a person and all the relationships it impacts as well. She deals with the topics tactfully and even intertwines romance in the story as well. I fully recommend this novel.
Not your typical murder mystery novel. Samantha is a drug addict. No one in her life listens to her, even those closest to her. And those around her are keeping secrets.
Not my normal type of book but it was definitely fun read. Samantha is all over the place, just like the book. You really get inside her head. Its definitely a book to check out.
Page 98. When will this sh!tty writing and boring story will capture me as everyone promise? Seriously? High school “creative writing” students come up with better stories and better writing. The story may have had a better turn around should it be written better. I can’t believe I’m wasting my time on this... 🤮🤮🤮🤮I’ll try to finish it but it better have some good turns around.
A can't put down read. It has so much of today's real life happenings you find yourself being able to relate to at least one part or another. Loved it!! A must read!!
Not a genre that I usually read, but well worth the time. Samantha, determined, tough, is very likable and grew on me. I read this in two nights. The author did a good job of developing the characters. I enjoyed all the little twists and turns. There are little easter eggs throughout the book, so pay close attention. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series as the ending to this one left me with a smile.
I understand this book is a first for the author. I really enjoyed the premise of the story, but I have a few critiques.
There were some editing issues that I think could have been easily avoided with more careful reading and editing by the editor. I also think some of the dialogue was a bit too proper for the circumstances. I don’t envision drug addicts sitting around getting high and using proper sentences. More slang would make me feel like I was actually hearing a legitimate conversation. Some of the transitions seemed too rushed, like the author just wanted to get to the next part more quickly. It kind of messed with how the story flowed.
All of that being said, the story kept my attention throughout and I enjoyed the plot. I like how all of the characters rallied around Samantha, even though at times it seemed unbelievable or cheesy. Sometimes you just need a feel-good story like that!
I look forward to reading the next book in this series and believe that the author has a lot of potential.
Interesting premise. Unbelievable dialogue, poor imagery, and jarring jumps throughout the story. While the premise was a good start, this lacked flow and a connection to reality.
