The police chief’s message is clear. Solve the case. Quickly. Or else. As the evidence points closer to home, Hailey's partner questions her dedication to the pursuit of justice. Because Hailey has secrets of her own. Secrets she’s vowed to protect. Secrets she’s willing to die for.

I had already read the Dr. Schwartzman series, and then found this one. I'm not sure what the suggested reading order is, since both series include a lot of the same characters, but I would highly recommend that you read both series. They're all fantastic stories, and you certainly won't be disappointed! This was a terrific series, and I enjoyed getting to know some of the characters, as well as what happens in their personal lives. There were many horrific stories, but in the end these strong women survived. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
First book was good. Second book was confusing with so many characters and so much focus on things that really didn’t do much for the story but I finished it. Third book had me struggling to continue and while I liked the characters, the plot was just dragging on with not a lot of information to clear anything up and more characters to confuse even more. Frustrating. I’m all about having a depth to the plot but this was too much and I didn’t finish. That is not like me.
Danielle Girard's writing style makes you stay up way past your bedtime! Once again I could not put these books down! The characters are so well rounded and real they feel like friends you have known your entire life.
Words are not adequate to describe the terrible pain involved when there are lies and deception in a family relationship. Tho love can heal if allowed!
