I didn’t think half bloods were real, until a sexy-as-sin guy showed up with a three-headed dog and kidnapped me to a world of magic.
After my powers emerged, I discovered I'm the daughter of a goddess. To join my family, I’ll have to prove my worth at an academy for preppy mythological heroes and fight my way up Mount Olympus.
If I’m lucky, no one will find out I had a naughty hook-up with the totally off-limits son of Hades...
*** Myth Academy is a steamy paranormal fantasy YA/NA magic academy novel. If you like strong, curvy heroines, delicious bad boys, and loads of kickass action, this series is for you!
This book was a quick and fun read. I do wish that some things were slowed down. The trials aspect of this book felt so rushed and I think the book really would've benefitted from a slower, more detailed trial scene. I also wish the big reveal at the end was more hinted at throughout the book. It was hinted at very briefly, but it was done in a way that made it seem like it wasn't important to the plot. I do really like the characters and the premise, but this needed to have more detail and be expanded on.
Alright. Well, it had so much promise, the story is actually kinda original. But it was SO FAST. I wish the author had taken some time to draw out the story and make me care about the characters more. I didn’t bat an eye when one of the characters died. I know this book is supposed to be adult but it seems very childish. From the MC’s mother being a helicopter parent, to the immature dialogue, to the on-again, off-again romance between her and the love interest. Major high school vibes, and it really left the story lacking. Speaking of the love interest, one of my LEAST favorite tropes is conflict that can be easily solved with a conversation. The MC’s love interest tries to explain what happened several times without being allowed to get a word in edgewise. LET HIM TALK YOU DUMB BITCH. And don’t get me started on her mother. “Oh no, I can’t tell you something that’s clearly putting you in danger because you’re not ready to hear it” okay? So when will she be? Can you just have a damn conversation?? It also has one of the worst depictions of depression I’ve ever seen, coming from someone with major depressive disorder. The author wrote it as though it’s her period and it’s just that time of the month for her. “Oh look at that it’s the middle of the month, time for my ‘depression spell’”. That’s not how it works and honestly it really pissed me off. The big reveal at the end was extremely easy to deduce. At 55% of the book Pandora’s Prophecy is mentioned and the MC was killed in her past life before her 19th birthday… hmmm… wonder who she could possibly be?? The only reason I finished this book is because it took me an hour and a half to read. But I still feel like I wasted my life which is very unfortunate because this book had potential. Obviously this author has the worlds shittiest editors and publishers. Will not be continuing the series

It seems like there was the tiniest bit of hope for the plot, but this was just written terribly. Even ignoring the desperate need for an editor, the characters came across so immature and everything was just glossed over. I can get behind a relationship in a fantasy novel where two people are faded to be together and so the pull between them is hard to resist which I think was the intention here but instead it came off as the characters returning to a bad relationship just for sex but calling it some great love story. This book basically skipped over actually going into what the classes were other than one class about riding a Pegasus which could have been really interesting, and then the part of this that should have been at least 20% of the book, the trials, was the tiniest portion of the book to the point that it was treated like it wasn't important at all. The author wrote a little bit about the trials as if they were going through some huge ordeal but it came across as if they were just going on a walk and had to quickly deal with a few things that didn't actually cause any trouble. The big twist at the end was so unbelievably obvious about halfway through the book I already knew it was coming when it was introduced the first time, and knowing that answered a few different areas of things the author clearly wanted to leave unanswered. I won't be continuing this series.
Maybe it’s cause I’m reading Percy Jackson while reading this so the comparison is strong. But this could have been a good story if it had editors, more fleshed out characters, and not rushed through the plot.
Also the twist? The second we mentioned it halfway through the story I knew how it was gunna end.
The trials, which was supposed this big ordeal, was over in like a chapter. Okay..? I was expecting more.

I really enjoyed this book and i am impressed with the research the author has done over Greek Mythology. As i am from Greece i really enjoyed how the author has written this story and has encapsulated the mythology in it. Well written characters with depth and all the teenage issues they should have the story and the world building is really fantastic. I can't wait for the next book to come! I must read beginning!
Penelope learns she is the daughter of Artemis and is required to attend Myth Academy in Greece.
What I enjoyed: * The friendship between Penelope, Blair, Claudia and Leya was great, how they all helped each other.
What could have been better: * For a book with academy in the title, very little was covered about classes or what was being learned. It is also strange that there is a life or death trial 4 months in. And that Penelope can skip a week of classes with no penalty. * The big reveal at the end was given away very early in the story * A school run by Zeus and other gods is so scared of Eris so much they let her daughter break all the rules
3.5 almost 4 stars. This is basically an adult version of the Percy Jackson series! The story was amazing, but the writing was super flat. I would love to see where this author takes future books, because she obviously has amazing ideas, but she has the “telling and not showing” issue that lots of people struggle with. Fun read!
Not kindle unlimited. I got this book for free on stuff your kindle day 3/31/23
This was a fun book. I very much enjoyed the whole spin of gods and goddesses. Penelope is just learning who she really is and is slowly accepting herself in this new world of hers. I enjoyed the world building and how Penelope was able to make new friends and for them to create a bond together by going through things as a unit was fantastic. I honestly can’t wait to see if the group comes together and helps Penelope in the next book.
I listened to the audiobook and I enjoyed the narrator. She truly brought the book alive for me. The narrator was great at portraying all the characters.
So good! I was trapped in their world. I was there with them giving advice and fearing their enemies. I read it in one sitting and almost pulled my hair out at the cliffhanger ending. First book in a series, better.
Wat een boek... Ik irriteerde me kapot aan de personages. Het verhaal bleef vlak en eigenlijk wordt er zo goed als niks vertelt. Op de cover lijkt een ouder iemand te staan maar in het boek leek net op een klein kind. Echt zucht... Nee dit is echt niet mijn boek...
Reads like a first book. Things like "turned my form" instead of the simpler and more palatable "turned my body". Trying too hard. Story was okay enough that I did decide to finish it. I went to grab book 2, and it wasn't on KU and I didn't like it enough to pay for it.
The Academy is in Greece and for children of God's and demigods. Artimus daughter is attending. The story has many twists, humor and sadness. Was a good book.
This felt like it was written by a 14 who thought this is what 19 year olds act and sound like. Nothing of substance was expanded on in the entire book.
I enjoyed the story and the characters. They have quite an introduction to this world of gods and goddesses.
I enjoyed the relationships between the characters. The romance and the friendships are developing. I look forward to seeing what is next for them all.
Love it. Magic, Gods & Goddesses and adventure. Plus your typical drama and romance. What more do you want in a book. Can't wait to read bk 2 when it's ready.
Penelope is just your average adult teenager...well with the exception of a helicopter mom who meddles in everything. She won't even let her leave the house to go to college if she wanted too. Her bestie and her spend most of the days selling items from her mom's shop. The dreams she's been having lately are wearing her down. The just when things start to look okay again. Her ex-boyfriend has a big surprise for her.
Myth Academy, Penelope and Jack, the Amazons, Artemis, Claudia and the other cast members are nothing short of amazing. Prophecy, reincarnation, Pandoras Box are all in this great book I can't wait for book 2 to see what happens next.
This book was pretty predictable. Entertaining enough for an hour or so. I personally don’t like when the main couple has already been together. It cheapens the fantasy.
