Nate Ellison’s just an ordinary, average college student trying to make the grade in Southern California.
Well, definitely not ordinary... and totally not average.
You see, Nate’s a Troman—a nearly seven-foot-tall guy who’s half war troll, half human—and he’s working undercover as part of a secret government project, the Monster Exchange Program, to investigate crimes that involve the occult.
Once on campus, Nate tries to lay low, struggling to navigate college life while also unraveling a mystery involving the disappearance of several beautiful co-eds. If he misses a clue, it could threaten the entire planet.
No pressure, right? All Nate has to do to defeat the bad guys and save the world is harness powers he never knew he possessed, kick the crap out of demons—and find a way to satisfy a small army of sorority chicks.
Ah, you left it like that. Better have a book 2. (I haven't look to see if there is a continuation of this plotline) So we get the who and why. But how come they figured they could start world dominant on a college campus.
Well it's mentioned several times. Colleges and Universities attract rich peoples children. While you wonder if these filler classes...are they really teaching you anything.
Well I wondered! They got more fillers than an Shonen Anime.
I was looking for a little fantasy smut when I can across this book.
It’s a small book but ends as if there’s more to come.
They live in an interesting world and the characters were lighthearted & fun & the smut was good but you can tell it was written by a man!
I believe I’ve been spoiled having read smut written by women for so long, that this book was just very obviously written by a man… and possibly a man who doesn’t know a woman’s needs?
You can definitely tell that this was written by a man. The phrase "kissed her lips" was constantly used. I don't know why it wasn't just "kissed her." I know that seems small, but it really irked me.
There were plenty of spicy scenes, but they really didn't do anything for me. Honestly, I only continued reading as there were only a few hours left (I listened to the audio book).
Fun story. A it unrealistic regarding the harem aspects and the investigation, but fun and fast paced. Characters could be more fleshed out, plot was solid, world was similar to Shadowrun/Bright in some ways while having it’s own backstory. Could have used a bit more technical editing. Soooo many people don’t know how to use commas, it makes me sad.
Hellboy meets 21 Jump Street was a fair description.
I enjoyed this story and it's characters. MC trying to do an undercover job while trying to be inconspicuous might have been too much of a challenge, but he gave it the old college try. (See what I did there?) Hope the next edition gives some rationale for how so many demons were around and how they were able to possess a person so quickly. Answers to those questions would simply flesh out an already good story for me. Really looking forward to the next installment.
Will be honest, at first the book started out great and interesting. The MC and his first girls were interesting to read, especially their interactions.
But as it got to the end, it lost it's interest and the character Ruby felt bland. The ending was only mildly interesting.
Might give the second book a shot later on if I can.
This was an epic story truly an enjoyable read. Kinda a coming of age with a supernatural twist. I really enjoy this new world and look forward to the next installment!
That's Half-Troll. MAP definitely a series to keep up with. No one we entertaining, kept the pace going right to the end. Steady but powerful the whole time with only a few lulls.
This was a great read. The MC and his word are fascinating, and I hope we get more details as the series goes on. Well written and swiftly moving; this is a very interesting plot I'm looking forward to reading more of.
This was a great start to the series. I enjoyed the plot and the MC being strong and confident without being overpowered. The character development is detailed. The intimate scenes are as well. The story was great and I'm looking forward to the next book!!!
I love a book with a different MC. The story was good, the plot was sold, the characters started to fill out nice and no rush to the story and really nice set up to the next
Are you an activist? Do you see racism in everything around you? Do you think women throw themselves at every guy they think it's good looking? If so this book is for you.
If you want some actual thought put into a story then look elsewhere.
