Road Tripping

Rate this book
Ethan was Ashley’s secret crush, until he became an asshole.

Asshole is too good a word for him. It’s bad enough that he stopped talking to her brother, who was his best friend since preschool. It’s even worse that he went wild and got involved with criminal types. But the worst thing of all is the way he trapped her on this ridiculous road trip.

That’s what it is. Ridiculous. It just isn’t normal for a girl to get dragged from Virginia to South Dakota in a stolen car with just $1000 in cash. With Ethan Moore, who is way too hot and way too infuriating to be tolerated. But she’s stuck with him on a trip that is taking way longer than it should, sharing cheap hotel rooms, destroying cars, and eluding bad guys.

Yep. There are bad guys chasing them. Even worse guys than Ethan, and that’s saying a lot.

Plus, she’s having trouble keeping her hands off Ethan. In fact, she’s falling for him hard—when she isn’t wanting to wring his neck.

So, for two crazy weeks, her pride, her heart, and her life are all threatened. Ashley isn’t sure which she’ll lose first.

No rating, DNF at 12%. This was comical in its far-fetchedness. I’m actually sad, because I used to love any and every book by Noelle Adams.

Hero - Ethan, bff to the heroine’s brother. The two guys got mixed in with the wrong moonshining crowd. Ethan’s having a difficult time removing himself from the nasty leader Buster, and their criminal moonshining ways.

Heroine - Ashley, has had a crush on Ethan for forever and ever, but is currently pissed off with Ethan, blaming him for getting her brother mixed in with the wrong crowd.

They run into each other at a gas station, where she straight away starts acting like a temperamental teenager with Ethan. Unfortunately, wrong place at the wrong time for Ashley. Big bad guys roar into the gas station with guns blazing. Ethan shoves her into her borrowed truck and off they go getting chased by Buster’s thugs. After they steal their second car, get chased by police, steal another car…to continue on their road trip from Virginia to South Dakota to reach the head moonshining boss (to ask him to tell Buster to call off his hitmen) I decided this one just isn’t for me. Heroine was constantly TSTL and dingy, the enemies (to-lovers) feeling felt forced and the whole reason for the road trip was implausible. I wish nothing but the best for Ethan and Ash though! 🚗💨💨💨

What a wild, crazy fun trip that was! I loved this story so much! It was fast paced and full of surprises!
Ashley is home from college to visit her parents when she gets shoved into her truck at the gas station and swept away while being shot at. She soon realizes that she's stuck on a crazy road trip with her childhood crush whom she has hated for the past few years. Ethan is a moonshine runner trying to get out of the business. Soon they embark on a journey full of bad guys, guns, explosions, stealing cars and wild chases. Ethan and Ashley must work together to figure out how to get themselves out of this mess. Along the way they meet some interesting people, get into some sticky situations, yell alot and learn their true feelings for each other. This story was full of laughs, edge of your seat action and even some tender moments. I had a blast spending time with these characters!

#Writing was juvenile in first third but picked up later in the book
#Liked the feisty h and H who was so crazy about her
#Motel scene where h has sex for first time - Hilarious!!
#Plot and resolution was bit sketchy - like how did the bad guys find them all the time, how did they get off scot free after stealing all those cars....
#The way their car broke down each time they were about to have a significant moment - farcical
#Dialogues were good, the way they were squabbling all the time, I could feel the connection between h/H
#Normally I don't read brother's best friend is the H books, but in this case it actually made sense - for the plot
A 3.5 star NA read about a couple on the road being chased by bad men and who get a HEA.

This little gem totally surprised me and kept me flipping the pages the entire time! A sexy and funny but sometimes deeply poignant love story that would satisfy the hard core romantics like my self any day of the week.

This wasn't just as sweet and sexy romance ..it was a train wreck of epic proportions but not in the way you might think. It was the craziest and most thrilling joy ride that I never wanted to end.

From boats and trucks exploding and bad guy car chases to orgasm invested crazy ass bikers..this one kept me guessing.

Verbal sparring that could win awards between these two kept me laughing and I was just in romantic comedy heaven the whole way.

If it could go wrong ..It did!!

Ashley and Ethan were a match made in HELL ...but soon  their animosity turned into the love they had as kids..that never really went away. They just had to stop fighting it.

Ethan held back so many times only because he wanted to protect Ashley but really he didn't want her to leave his side.

Ashley wanted to be equal and Ethan wanted control.

Silly mishaps including the funniest sex-arguments I ever read had tears of laughter running down my face.

These two had a battle up hill, down hill and in between. But the best part was it never got them down. I loved how might fight one second but laughed the next.

They had some help along the way and as usual I always try to find a secondary character that stands out and makes me pay attention. This book had the perfect show stealer. That was Mrs. Tate

She shared some amazing and beautiful wisdom and it settled right into my heart.

Along with sexy time anywhere they could find time and even sometimes when they didn't ..they found it anyway.

Can't say enough how much I really adored this sweet romantic comedy and I'm really going to be checking out the rest of this refreshing author's work.

Sweet romances are common but finding a sexy and sweet yet full of  action and suspense and a whole lot of Laugh out loud moments made this one rare indeed.

Oh my gosh!!! I’ve completely fallen in love with Ethan and Ashley! They were the best of enemies and I couldn’t get enough of them!

With a past that is mixed adoration and unforgiveness, Ashley has a rough time when she finds herself an unwilling participant of Ethan’s run from some bad guys. As the miles slowly pass by, due to some of the most unluckiest of circumstances, she finds herself struggling with her emotional and physical response to him. She was quite a firecracker and I loved all her snarky responses.

Animated GIF

We never have Ethan’s point of view but it's obvious there are things we don’t know that are going to affect the outcome of not only this wild trip, but the relationship between him and Ashley. His reactions gave small clues as to what he was dealing with and there were so many times that it was his desire for her as well as his concern.

”This is like hell!” Ethan bellowed out of the blue at about six o’clock. “Nothing but farms for the rest of eternity.”

“It’s not hell,” Ashley said nastily. “It’s Iowa.”

I laughed so much throughout the biggest portion of this book, more so than any other N.A. books, and then...BAM! This author once more had me responding like an emotional case. I mean, really! How does she do this to me over and over again? I fell in love with Listed years ago. This is so very different but definitely a top favorite because of the chemistry and humor between the hero and heroine.

This is what romance is all about!!!

"I've got you beat then," he said in his most superior tone. "I've wanted you from the minute I saw you at that gas station. It made me furious to see you going around in that outfit, showing off your luscious body to anyone who happened to drive by. It was all I could do not to snatch you up and run away with you on the spot." ~ Ethan Moore

The past three books that I've read have definitely gutted me. So Road Tripping was a welcome departure from the tear jerkers of the past week.

Ashley Sullivan is a good girl. She has to be, her brother Mark has been a huge disappointment to their parents, so Ashley has decided to be the perfect daughter. She goes to college, follows all the rules and even has tea with old grannies in the neighborhood while her parents are away. So of course running into the bad boy she blames for her brother's downward spiral while getting gas for said old grannie frustrates her beyond belief.

Ethan Moore is the bad boy. He's always been in some sort of trouble, and now, apparently he's a felon. Ethan has been involved in the moonshine business and Ashley believes Ethan pulled her brother into his web of evil. But wait a minute. What happened to Ethan? Broad chest, auburn hair you want to run your fingers through and green eyes (swoon). When on earth did this happen?

While at the gas station Ashley can't really hide her anger toward Ethan. She can't understand how the boy she's known all her life turned into such a hot mess (literally). Ethan was Mark's best friend. Ashley used to try to tag along with the boys when they were younger. She even had a sort of crush on Ethan back in the day. Now she feels disgusted (and a little frustrated) when she sees him.

And the gas station is where our story really begins. Someone's after Ethan. Someone who doesn't want Ethan out of the moonshine business. Someone angry enough to send hired guns to come after Ethan. And guess who gets to go along for the ride? That's right, Ashley, our good girl.

Ethan and Ashley escape from the bad guys in grannie's old truck, with only $1000 and grannie's gas card. Ashley's bag flies off of the truck and obviously Ethan can't use his cell phone or his credit cards since he doesn't want anyone to be able to track them down.

You can actually feel the sexual tension between Ethan and Ashley from the second they see each other. She has thoughts about this bad boy that no good girl should have, and Ethan, well let's just say he takes a lot of walks alone to "relieve" his tension.

Not only is it their sexual tension, but their actual chemistry is just so stink adorable, your cheering for them to get together. They're so funny together. They honestly bicker like an old couple. They're stubborn and head strong and I just love them. Even though there are scary moments, they never lose their feistiness. Don't tell anyone, but I secretly love Ethan's bulldozing ways (shhhhh).

I love the placement of elderly women on a few of the days on their journey. The little old lady that picks them up, literally almost made me pee myself.

Road Tripping has the right amount of laughs, suspense and definitely steamy sex. I found myself loving Ethan Moore from early on in the story, and Ashley is a total kick ass chick.

So a road trip that should have taken about 20 hours took my new favorite couple about 13 days. I'm not giving away anything else about the trip because I really, really want you to read Road Tripping!!

Ethan Moore, you are definitely a worthy book boyfriend. That being said, I have to give Road Tripping a five lip smack review. I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to be over.

An ARC was provided by the author for an honest review.

The first thing that intrigued me about this book is the title. I'm going on a vacation really soon (on the 23rd) and I thought maybe this one could give me ideas on what to do for my one month vacation. However, when I started reading it, I was completely surprised. All I can say is that I will never want to go on a road trip like Ethan and Ashley had! No freaking way! Their trip was a disaster! But despite bad guys pursuing them, stolen cars, cheap motel rooms, dirty gas station bathrooms, and blistered feet--- Ethan and Ashley had the most memorable and life changing two weeks of their lives.

✽The Characters:

Ashley is trying to be a "good-girl"to compensate for what her brother did--- being part of an illegal distribution ring of a substance called moonshine. I think she didn't want to add more problems for her parents that's why she is trying to always do good and smart things. However when she bumps into Ethan-- her brother's ex best friend and her old crush, she just couldn't turn away from him, even though he was being chase by bad guys with guns. Honestly, I'm not sure whether to call Ashley brave or just plain crazy by jumping into a road trip with Ethan. I guess her feelings for the guy never really went away despite how things went down after her brother and Ethan were arrested for the moonshiner thing. Still, I like Ashley's tenacity. She never left Ethan despite all what went wrong all throughout their "road-trip". She's also funny and loves goading Ethan.

“Can I please get a kiss first?”

Ethan’s eyes were very speaking, but he didn’t move immediately.

So she teased, “I guess you’re afraid you won’t live up to your reputation. I don’t blame you. I’ve experienced some really good kissers. You probably couldn’t hope to equal the kind of kiss I got from…”

Ethan on the other hand is a typical alpha hero. At first I was really turned off because of what he does, it's a little hard to like a character who is involved in criminal activities. However, as I read along, it was not that hard to like Ethan. He's just a good guy that was caught in a web to help a friend out. In this case, Ethan and Ashley's adventure started because Ethan already want out of the moonshiner business. Ethan is tough and is brutally honest but he's also a closet romantic.

“I admit it,” he replied resignedly, leaning his head back against the pillow. “Love has turned me into a cuddling fiend. It’s humiliating, really. And if you ever mention it to anyone, I’ll be forced into some elaborate method of vengeance.”

✽The Story:

The plot is pretty straight forward. Two people caught in a very dangerous situation, they had to run away from the bad guys, and while being chased, they explored their old feelings that was once buried due to unfortunate events in the past. There were no plot twists or whatsoever but what you can look forward to are the mishaps that occurred while they were on the road. It was both frustrating and hilarious!

Ashley Sullivan has worked very hard to be the good girl. Her parents have been through so much the past eighteen months since her brother was arrested, she doesn’t want them to worry about her too. Her plan is to stick to the straight and narrow and have a nice safe and secure life. It is working well for her until she returns home from college for the summer and runs into Ethan Moore.

“’This is not a good time. I’m not a slave to lust, you know.’ ‘You aren’t?’ His green eyes gleamed with a teasing heat. ‘Not even a little?’”

Ethan Moore hasn’t had the best of life. Raised by his grandparents, he was often left to his own devises. His one bright spot in life was the Sullivan family. Mark Sullivan is his best friend, his parents have welcomed him with open arms and his little sister Ashley is, well, she’s perfect. Everything is good until Ethan and Mark are arrested; now no one is talking to him.

“After spending all night in bed with her, he wouldn’t even extend to her the common courtesy of getting an erection.”

This is a really cute story of young love. Through circumstances that are out of anyone’s control, Ethan and Ashley are forced into a road trip to Sioux Falls South Dakota. This trip should only take about twenty hours, but due to a rash of funny and frustrating events it takes much, MUCH longer. As Ethan and Ashley spend more and more time together, trying to stay alive, they begin to open up to each other and reconnecting. I absolutely love the time they spend with a sweet lady named Mrs. Tate. This is a real turning point for them and the event that happen in this time are wonderful. There were times during this story I wanted to scream due to the angst, there were times I held my breath due to the frightening
situation, and there were times I was running for a cold shower due to the intimate scenes. (Amazon doesn’t like the word s-e-x.) I really enjoyed this story and was wondering how Ms. Adams was going to pull the couple out of deaths clutches. I can honestly say she did a fantastic job. I give this book 4 stars with 3.5 hands down the pants.

I'm confused.

Majorly confused.

I have no idea how to rate this one. 2.5? 3? 4? Did I like it, hate it, adored it? No clue. WTF. I don't even know whether I loved or hated the characters, which never happens to me.

Some parts were awesome and adorable and funny and everything I look for in a book. Sometimes the heroine was so baddass and amazing I was like "I wanna be this chick" and sometimes the hero kind of almost impressed me. I laughed a lot and liked how the heroine's brain worked. And the hero was so sweet. But te rest? Ugh. Just... Ugh.

There were some clichés. Like, eye-roll-inducing, banging-my-head-against-a-wall clichés. But I could deal with that. I could NOT deal with the plotline. Actually, that's not exactly right. I just didn't care about the plotline. At all. The whole thing was just "meh". Reeally "meh". And I felt no connection between the main characters. I think I liked the old lady in the end more then the couple.

The "bad, dangerous as fuck, will kill us all" enemy was a big fat disappointment. The end? So rushed and fake and forced and awkward. Like, "Oh we're back home, let's have some ice-cream" and "We should have a distance relationship for God knows how long. You're cool with that, right?" I mean, seriously, who does that?? And her parents just accepting everything, as if nothing out of the ordinary happened? No. Just no. And seriously, WHERE THE FUCK WAS MARK? The "best friend ever" and "beloved brother" did not appear ONCE on the whole book. But he was important enough to cause the main couple so much pain and blah blah blah?

But I DID enjoy a lot of parts. I liked the bickering and the endless bad luck and the road trip in general. So, as I was saying... I'm confused.
I guess.. 2.65? Ugh!

Ethan was Ashley's brother's best friend growing up, and she always had a crush on him until he got her brother involved in something that lead to a criminal record. Now home from college, she runs into Ethan and finds herself on the run with him after being shot at by someone who is obviously after Ethan. Spending a lot of time in cars and hotel rooms with this person she has known and loved for most of her life, and then hated is causing a lot of mixed feelings for Ashley. Especially when spending so much time with him again is causing some of the old feelings to return.

This book takes us on a pretty crazy ride. It is a semi-typical childhood friends turned lovers story, but with a backdrop of action and danger. Ethan and Ashley have a limited amount of money as they are not able to use any credit cards, phones, etc that might allow them to be tracked or traced by the bad guys. They also have a limited amount of luck, and that seems to run out for them pretty quickly. It was interesting to see their relationship evolve as Ashley learned more about the situation that caused her to hate Ethan, and as she was reminded of their life-long friendship. They argue a lot, but in a way that makes their characters seem more real. Even as they are giving up fighting their attraction to one another it is clear that being together won't make them suddenly stop arguing, which I liked. A couple of the situations they found themselves in were a bit preposterous, but overall his book kept me interested throughout and I would read more by this author in the future. 3.5 stars.

Ethan sometimes doesn't filter what comes out of his mouth, "Ashley let out a squeak of outrage. Peered down at her stomach. It wasn't perfectly flat, but it looked pretty good. Her body certainly went in at the middle - a lot of guys liked her shape. Ethan was shaking his head again evidently reading her mind. "I wasn't insulting your body. Just your appetite." Ashley, that girl has no problem being totally honest at times, "baby, I've been with you constantly for a week. I know everything there is to know about what you're carrying on your person. I spotted the condom on the second day - when I got the money out for the tolls. Very efficient of you to always be prepared." She beamed at him." Her reactions to Ethan's manly bits was FUNNY, "I love you a lot. And I really want to make love to you," She said bleakly, shaking her head. Her gaze was fixed on one very particular location on his body. 'But I'm sorry, Ethan, that's never going to fit." I loved this book it was adventure, romance and sex a few things on my need to have for me to read a book list.

Wow!!! This is the first book I have read of Noelle Adams and I will be back for more. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for a review as part of G the Book Diva Blog. After Ashleys older brother has been in trouble and put their parents through alot of stress, she works her hardest to be the good child and make the proud. She is focusing on her goal of becoming a doctor, follows the rules, and has tea with an elderly lady. While home from school and at a local convience store, Ashley runs into a former friend and the boy that lead her brother down the wrong path. During a brief conversation the two are thrown into a whirl wind. Ethan has made the wrong person mad and is facing retaliation. While trying to avoid the hit man Ethan and Ashley take off on a road trip that should only take a few hours, yet after many many mishaps the trip takes much longer. This story is action packed, full of sexual tension, and lots of suspense. Cant wait to read more!

I really enjoyed this book. At first I wasn't to sure, but before the first chapter was over, I was hooked.

I also liked all the characters, they were perfect for the roles they played.

It was kinda like a "edge of your seat" kinda book, made my nerves bad, with the stupid hired guns. But it was a great rode trip none the less.

Ethan was just perfect in every way possible. Not one thing I did not like about him. We all have pasts, and faults, and like most of us, we all try our damndest to make it better, just like he did. ALthough it all started for a friend. That's true friends.

Ashley was a great character as well. She was bossy, yet funny, strong when she needed to be, a pure, with a great heart.

And what made it all even better, was the fact that they knew eachother for yearssssss. And pretty much felt the same.

Just a great book all around!!!!

I loved this book! Ethan was Ashley's brother's best friend and Ashley has spent the last 2 years hating Ethan for getting her brother into trouble and she blames him. She runs into him at a gas station and is forced to go on a road trip with him where they have no money and are being chased by bad guys - all the while trying to keep themselves alive while dealing with some bad luck and sexual tension. I loved the banter between Ashley and Ethan - it is really funny at times. I can't say enough how much I loved this book!! I can't wait to read more by this author!

2.5 stars.

I’m a big fan of this author but unfortunately this book was a miss for me. It took me a while to try this one because the reviews weren’t the best. I kind of wish I hadn’t gone ahead and read it anyway. The hero and heroine bickered a lot, and I didn’t find it charming. It made me wonder if they would actually make it. I feel like people that bicker that much surely split up, because it wasn’t pleasant. I like a grouchy hero usually, but this time I didn’t find it cute either. So the romance was a bit of a fail for me.
The storyline was somewhat ridiculous with all the mishaps during their travels.

**spoilers**
Even some of the heroine’s reactions were weird at times - at one point she was so emotionally overwhelmed with her feelings for the hero that she started vomiting and ended up on all fours on the ground, retching. And yet when someone was actually killed, she barely reacted.

I just didn’t enjoy it.
Try one of this author’s other books, they’re much better.

i actually read this weeks ago but i was too busy to review anyway noelle adams is my guilty pleasure. any time i need something to fulfill my banter needs she appears. i just found out her website has her books sorted in lists according to tropes and hero types! such a smart and helpful idea. I'll be checking it out in future when i get that urge again as I'm very picky about tropes. this one spoke my name. hate to love, long road trip/journey, forced proximity.. hello! even tho i kinda hate reducing books to tropes sometimes its necessary, especially in the romance genre shrug anyway this was so much fun. the bickering was spot on. they never stopped arguing even during sex djjdjdnd that was hilarious. the fmc could be annoying at times but i have a high tolerance for annoying mcs so i persisted. loved it

This Noelle Adams was lighter weight than usual, though she did warn us in the description that we would have to suspend disbelief. It was well written and error free, as usual. And, it did have bedroom scenes. I guess my main objection was that it really wasn't clear why we should be sympathetic to the hero. It was implied that he took the blame for something the heroine's brother did, but we were not given a real reason to exonerate him.

A crazy roadtrip

When she went to get gas she didn't expect her life to take such a turn. She didn't expect Ethan to walk back into her life and she didn't expect the road trip.

A whirlwind ride for their lives this story follows the back and fourth between two people running for their lives and doing what needs to be done to survive.

This was a page turner with chemistry and twists of cat and mouse.

Murphy's Law

When Ashley finds herself on an unplanned and dangerous road-trip with her brother’s ex-best friend Ethan, Murphy’s Law doesn't even begin to describe what these two go through. Between trying to avoid the bad guys, dealing with cars that just don’t want to run, and fighting the attraction between them, it’s all Ethan and Ashley can do to laugh at the all the obstacles that get thrown in their way that end up turning a 20 hour road trip to a two-week misadventure.

description

This was such a fun read, with tons of mishaps, a bit of mayhem, a whole lot of misunderstandings, and some really nasty bad guys. I loved watching Ethan and Ashley interact – Ethan was such an alpha and totally unfiltered most of the times that you never knew what he was going to say next or how it was going to come out. Ashley was an interesting character for me – it sometimes felt like she was too young to be involved in such a mess, but she always managed to suck it up and make it through whatever mishap they found themselves in. It was fun watching Ethan try to hide his feelings for Ashley and I loved it when he got all sweet and protective with her. And it was great when they finally come to realize how they feel about each other and just how much they care about one another - so much so that Ethan will do whatever it takes to make it work...*swoon*.

“Are you okay?” he asked. “Do you believe me? I know there’s more than this. I didn't realize before how you were feeling about…about my bulldozing.”

“I tried to tell you.”

“I know you did. I’m so sorry I didn't hear you. I do trust you. You’re the strongest, bravest person I've ever known in my life. I have a bad habit of taking control when I get worried or scared, and I’ve been terrified about you getting hurt this whole time. That’s why I’ve been a jerk. But I’ll work on it. I promise I will.”
