This story is set in a world created by Roxanne St. Claire as the Barefoot Bay series, and this work has been published with her permission.
In Perfect Mismatch, Elizabeth is tired of the dating game and feels like she'll never find her Mr. Right who will like her for her and not her bank account or status. Val feels the same way. Both of them end up in Barefoot Bay, for a reality show promising them their perfect match. But are they the perfect match or is it all a mistake?
Perfect Mismatch is a very fast, fun read. Some things go as planned, some don't...which will their match to each other be? The heat and attraction between Val and Elizabeth is palpable. So is their wariness and uncertainty though. Can love happen this fast? Val and Elizabeth's whirlwind time in Barefoot Bay was easy to feel a part of, and EmKay's descriptions were vivid of the people and the place. As fast as Val and Elizabeth fell, the length of the novella worked well for their Perfect Mismatch. I liked what I got to know of Val and Elizabeth, and I could see why they decided to try for love this way.
It was great to see some characters from previous Barefoot Bay books make appearances in Perfect Mismatch, but Perfect Mismatch can be read as a stand alone novella in a great setting. I'd recommend Perfect Mismatch to any romance reader looking for a quick paced, steamy novella!
Elizabeth Ellis agreed to be on a matchmaking reality show where your ideal partner is picked based on an analyzed computer program. Elizabeth was skeptical, but was eventually convinced of the idea. As the CFO of a Fortune 500 company, her father's telecommunications empire, she was one of the wealthiest and most influential women in the country and she didn't have the time or energy for dating. Elizabeth just wished she could find a guy who really liked her, and not all of her money.
Val Corelli, one of eight children all named after Roman Catholic popes, was nominated by his sister Nona for the same matchmaking show. Val and his brother's own Pope's Pie, a pizza place that is really starting to grow and become famous.
When checking in Elizabeth and Val see each other and like what they see but don't realize that each other is their perfect match. The next day when everyone meets for introductions they discover this fact. Both of them have preconceived notions about the other, and it was fun as they both realized they were wrong.
I enjoyed their story and how they went from faking a relationship to really falling in love. They way their happy ever after ended was just perfect! Loved it!
A cute, short story with an interesting premise... The ending was fun - without giving anything away - the characters were calling the promise ceremony a wedding, which it wasn’t...
It makes me want to read the rest of the series.
I was given a free copy of this book, and I voluntarily left this review.
I am a person that doesn’t read many novellas because I find them abrupt ,and with little substance. You know you are reading a talented author when in a very short novella the author is able to develop not only a plot , and the main characters , in this case, Elizabeth and Val, but also the secondary characters. Ms Connor is one of those authors. Basically two opposites thrown together in a reality matchmaking show . A fun ride for us to “watch”. Looking forward to more stories by this author and what she does with the secondary characters now taking front stage. I was gifted this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
If you are looking for a really cute quick read Perfect Mismatch fits the bill.
Elizabeth is a CFO that is over the dating seen since most of the men she has dated are more interested in what they can get from her in the business world. She finds out about a reality TV show called Perfect Mismatch that claims to never fail at finding someone the perfect person for them. So Elizabeth heads off to Barefoot Bay to be on the premiere episode and hopefully find the love of her life.
Val is the owner of a pizza shop that has been burned by love in the past. When his sister signs him up for Perfect Mismatch he decides to be a good sport and try it since he does really want to find love.
What better place to find love then in Barefoot Bay. If you have ever read any of the original Barefoot Bay books by Roxanne St. Claire then you are likely to see some familiar faces along Elizabeth and Val’s journey to find their perfect match.
Elizabeth Ellis is not sure what to make of this whole meet your perfect on a matchmaking reality show. She's off to Barefoot Bay. The Casa Blanca Resort and Spa. She has to admit it's really nice. Apparently they found the perfect guy for her. She'd wait and see how true it was. Val Corelli was well to do, but his sister had signed him up for this matchmaking thing. He had to be honest he wanted to find someone and marry. So he'd be a sport.
When Elizabeth and Val met for the first time things weren't that perfect. They didn't know what to say to each other.
They cooked up something for the cameras. The only thing was it didn't go as planned. See what happens.
This is a novella that takes place in Roxanne St.Claire's Barefoot Bay. The story was cute and fast paced. The premise is that two people are matched by a computer to be the perfect match and they are going to let the whole thing play out on a reality TV show. When Elizabeth and Val first see each other, there is attraction, but they decide quickly that the whole concept of the match is ridiculous and it will never work. Are they right, or did the computer have it right from the beginning? I was given this book free in exchange for an honest review.
"Perfect Match" by EmKay Connor is my first read from this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is a 'Kindle Worlds Novella' from the Barefoot Bay series. This is a read alone book but can be read as part of the series. Elizabeth Ellis and Valentine (Val) Corelli come to Barefoot Bay to be a part of a new series where the couple ends up married in the end. The only problem is that they've never met before and both are overworked, walking disasters in the love market.
A short sexy story of a romantic couple put together by a computer program. Instant attraction and live in Barefoot Bay.
Excerpt: “Relationships are hard work,” Harper said. “But that comes after the good part.” “And what’s that?” Harper nodded toward the front of the restaurant where Val stood in the doorway. “The good part is unwrapping a package like that.” Excerpt From: Connor, EmKay. “Perfect Mismatch.”
Well, wow, this one had a really cute premise and I loved the characters but it was so short it really didn't give you time to get into the story before it was over. The writing was good but overall it really left me wanting.....
Elizabeth and Val have been matched by the computer. When they first meet, they can't figure out how they were thought to be a match. They both want love and happily ever after, but they are sure they are not right for each other. After spending a few day together, they aren't so sure.
A very quick read and follow up to Perfect Mismatch by this author. It is always nice to revisit Barefoot Bay. Harper and Luke were great together and had a lot of chemistry. Loved this fun story.
Elizabeth Ellis and Val Corelli's story is a fun twist on reality dating shows. Loved the ending. Keeping wanting to go to the beach. These are the perfect beach reads.
