Collodi tento příběh napsal hned po Pinocchiovi. Dobrodružství růžového opičáka vykazují s literární klasikou zřetelnou podobnost. Pipi is an unusual monkey, not like the rest of his family, for he is pink in colour. Pipi is also a mischievous monkey who always manages to find himself in trouble.

Pipi steels a smoking pipe from a man, and then hides it from his family, but it’s not long before the man finds Pipi and takes him away in a sack. This is the start of his adventures.

From then on he is head butted by a ram, dressed up by a human and forced to become his companion, kidnapped by a nasty gang, have his tail eaten by a crocodile, and become an emperor of a group of monkeys who demand everything from him, including the sun.

Written by the author of ‘The Adventures of Pinocchio’, this book has that magical feel to it. It is fun, filled to the brim with excitement, and will have kids hooked from the first page.

The book most certainly lives up to its title of being an adventure, as Pipi ends up in lots of them, mostly by the mistakes he makes. There are some terrible, mean villains in the story, which give it that fairy-tale feeling to it too.

You can’t help but fall for this lovable rogue, and hope that his adventures will all turn out okay for him in the end.

What a great little 'naughty monkey' story, from the Pinocchio author.

I'd never heard of this, but am now very happy I've tried it, and am keeping it to read with my nearly 6-year-old. At less than 100 pages with 'test yourself' questions, facts about other famous monkeys (King Kong, Curious George), a glossary of Monkey Language terms used, it's got extras that parents will find adds to the slight story.

Pipi is a young monkey, one of five, the only pink monkey around. And he's a rather cheeky little thing as well. Loving his dad's stories and life in the wild, he also loves causing mischief, which may catch up with him... From teasing a hungry crocodile to meeting a human boy, Pipi finds his actions have consequences and children will enjoy finding out just how his adventures turn out.

Every child's worse fear - losing their family, being taken away from home, being lost, these fears are transferred to a Pinocchio-like scamp (and the book and author are both referenced here as well) who must use his wiles to find what he's looking for.

Great illustrations from Axel Scheffler that break up the text, which itself isn't particularly old-fashioned for a contemporary listener, I really liked the story itself and the short chapters and episodes.

La historia de monito rosa es muy entretenida, Pipeto es muy travieso y eso le trae muchas consecuencias desde la perdida de su cola, hasta su propia venta. La hemos leído en familia y la hemos disfrutado mucho las ocurrencias narradas por el autor. Incluso mi hija presto el libro a su abuelita y le encantó.
Veo mucha influencia al libro de Pinocho y es obvio ya que es el mismo autor, solo que mientras Pinocho quería ser un niño de verdad a Pipeto sin el quererlo lo estaban convirtiendo en uno (convirtiendose en ayudante de Alfredo y al tener que usar atuendos propios de un niño). Es una pena que no haya sido tan popular como Pinocho, me causo muchas carcajadas las ocurrencias del monito. Mi escena favorita fue cuando quería irse de la casa del niño Alfredo, pero era tentado uno y otra vez con frutas riquísimas.

A very enjoyable book from the author of one of my top 5 ever. Is it as good and as impactful as 'The Adventures of Pinocchio'. Not for me, no, but it is a great read if you enjoy children's literature.

Collodi è sempre spassoso da leggere, ma in questa storia, scritta per essere pubblicata a puntate sul Giornalino dei Bambini, non ha decisamente messo troppo impegno.

Ugh I love Carlo Collodi books. Not as good as Pinocchio imo, but it’s still super fun!! Plus, Pinocchio makes an appearance (with a different name for some reason) so it’s like extra content!

The Polish version is a bit strange. Monkeys laughing their asses off? A bandit punching a cat? Personally, I wouldn't read this to a child, but again, it could just be the translation.

Ich hatte auch an manchen Stellen so meine Probleme mit Pinocchio, obwohl ich Collodis Fazit - Erziehung funktioniert nur durch Erfahrung, nicht durch Belehrung - recht charmant finde.
"Pipi" hier wird allerdings den Platz im Bücherregal räumen. Das rosarote Äffchen ist fies, verfressen und unsympathisch. Das Wahlherrchen Alfred kommt allerdings auch nicht besser davon, zwingt er doch den kleinen Affen dazu, Schuhe und steifen Kragen zu tragen und lacht sich scheckig, als der fiese, rosarote Primat aufgrund des ungewohnten Schuhwerks immer wieder hinfällt. Sympathischer Typ, wirklich. "Wer wie ein Mensch sein möchte, der muss sich der Gesellschaft auch anpassen", so das Fazit Nummer 1. Dazu gehören dann wohl auch steife Kragen und feine Schuhe. Fazit 2: "Was man versprochen hat, das muss man auch halten." Auch, wenn das Versprechen, Pipi solle Alfred auf eine Weltreise begleiten, durch ein üppiges Obstbuffet erpresst wurde. Es bleibt auch schleierhaft, warum Pipi Alfred denn unbedingt auf dessen Bildungsreise begleiten muss, ein handelsüblicher Diener hätte es sicherlich auch getan. Einziger Sympathieträger: das Krokodil Arabà-Babbà, dem ich nicht nur den Schwanz von Pipi als Mahlzeit gegönnt hätte. Für kleine Kinder zum Vorlesen absolut nicht geeignet, da die Sprache schon anspruchsvoll ist, "lange" (für Kinder!) und verschachtelte Sätze leisten ihren Beitrag dazu. Vom Inhalt möchte ich gar nicht sprechen, Pinocchio light und mit zweifelhaftem pädagogischen Anspruch.

Come nella tradizione dei libri di Collodi, la storia di Pipì si posiziona tra quei manoscritti pedagogici indirizzati ai bambini e ai giovani ragazzi che si trovano a dover affrontare le prime difficoltà e le prime prove della vita. Collodi, con grande simpatia e leggerezza, snocciola uno ad uno i più comuni e importanti problemi etici e morali della prima gioventù e indirizza, tramite il solito paradigma causa-effetto molto frequente nella sua produzione, il giovanissimo protagonista sempre nella giusta direzione, non senza difficoltà e disavventure più o meno gravi dal punto di vista del personaggio.
La perdita di qualcosa di caro, come penitenza, è un tema che appare in "Pipì o lo scimmiottino color di rosa", così come appare nel romanzo di formazione più famoso dell'autore: "Pinocchio". La fedeltà alle promesse fatte e quindi il forte senso di onestà che Collodi insiste a riproporre anche in questa piccola opera, è il fulcro che anima l'intera storia di Pipì che si ritroverà ad affrontare mille guai finché non si deciderà a rispettare la parola data.
Come al solito, insomma, Collodi è garanzia di qualità, divertimento e buoni principi. Un'ottima lettura da proporre ai più giovani lettori e, perché no, anche per i più grandi che vogliono ricordare la bellezza delle storie dell'infanzia.
