An alien Queen in need of a Bodyguard
A Warrior who is sworn never to Love
But what happens when she needs him
To Quell the Heat inside her?
Can Ty keep himself from loving Ellina while...
Guarding the Goddess?

Y’res the Fourth--otherwise known as Ellina--the newly crowned ruler of Helios Beta, has a problem: someone is trying to kill her. There has already been one assassination attempt on her life and she fears that soon there will be another. She needs someone to guard and protect her--someone she can trust. Which is why she calls on the Kindred.

Commander Ty'rial is a Kindred warrior in the Elite Espionage Corps. He takes the job of guarding the new ruler of Helios Beta with some reservations. For Ty is a Modified Kindred--his DNA was manipulated before his birth to make him the perfect slave, fit only to serve a spoiled, rich Mistress. Rejecting this fate, Ty has made his own way in life and he has no interest or intention of falling for a female in power--even one who feels frightened and powerless, as Ellina does.

Two worlds collide when Ellina admits her fear and Ty begins to see her as a person--not just a Potentate. Feelings between them grow but they can never be together--for Ellina must choose a consort from among her own people--one who can give her an heir with the same Sacred Blue skin tones which she alone possesses. But when another assassination attempt and a villainous plot sets off Ellina's Heat Cycle, can the two of them stay apart?
And will either of them ever be the same after Ty is tasked with...
Guarding the Goddess?

Protecting her body or her heart
This book is the perfect next step in the series. I love how it seamlessly picks up where the last one left off. The queen tries her best to keep her distance, but when up against circumstances, her own body, and a big strong kindred what is a girl to do. You are going to love this book, well I know I did anyway. It is a thrill ride that you won't want to get off of until you see if blue blood wins out or true love and affection. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

3.4 or 3.5 stars

I enjoyed this bodyguard royalty romance & especially loved Ty's Chewchie, Lisa. I wasn't surprised at all when Ellina's mutation was that she had the body of a normal humanoid female with two breasts and one vagina instead of three breasts and two vaginas. In fact, I think I would have preferred it for her to have the normal body form of a Chorkay female.

I also wasn't surprised when the reveal came out of who was trying to kill Queen Ellina, though it was interesting. The villains were misogynistic AF and didn't think a female could rule well.

Fighting assassination attempts, desire, lust, and seemingly sinister ulterior motives, Ellina and Ty must work together to keep her safe, find the culprit behind the assassination attempts, and fight the growing desire for each other. Can it be done? I won't tell you other than to say that you must read Guarding the Goddess!

Nearly, but not quite, 4 stars. 3,55? Anyway, I loved the setting! But the romance was less great than I expected, especially given the high stakes.

A love that will tie them together for eternity….
Ellina has lived a life of seclusion knowing that one day she would lead her people and yet from those closest to her she has known nothing but derision, insults and hostility. Her Parents were both assassinated and her only relative her beloved grandmother is also now under threat.

She is still be threatened and someone has already attempted to assassinate both her and her grandmother when they were together, a very rare occasion and one that would not happen again….
As a temporary replacement the Kindred send one of their very best warriors Ty’ral “Ty” who is to take over her protectorate and also will be selecting her future personal guard. Ty is shocked to discover that Ellina has been given food and drink that has been poisoned and now they are trying to find out who it is and
As Ty and Ellina spend time together and discuss all manner of things to do with Helios and the rituals she will have to follow when it comes time to produce an heir to follow in her footsteps. Ty had always believed that he would remain single as he knew the subsequent Implications, the way he has been engineered so that once he finds love she will be his everything and he will do whatever to keep her safe.
He will become a one woman killing machine, he will eat, sleep and breath thinking only of her and anything that will bring her happiness an them complete safety and security.
It will be a love that will las till the very end of their days, however Ty knows that she is expected to choose a partner from Helios, but she is a living deity and if anyone should be able to change the rules it should be her.
However, will her subjects, her true subjects accept this only time will tell….

Guarding the Goddess:A Kindred Tales Novel (Brides of the Kindred) - Evangeline Anderson

This book is a wonderful sequel to the last Kindred Tales (Kindred Klaus) novel where Kindred Asher and his mate save the planet Helios Beta and the coronation of the new Potentate. The planet is inhabited by a race of blue humanoids who are similar in anatomy but there are some “interesting” differences. They all have these lovely beings, small creatures who can only be described as an extension of their emotions and their souls. The Chewchies sound adorable, helpful and do play important characters in this story (I want one).

Sylvan, head of the Kindred on the mothership, assigns a troop of Kindred warriors to protect the new Potentate ,Ellina, who is in danger of assassination. The leader of the Kindred and bodyguard of Ellina is Ty’ral, who takes his position very seriously. Ellina has been traumatized by the assassination of her parents, her ailing grandmother and the need to assume the ruling position. She is aware there are evil plots and suspicious characters within her court.
Ty’ral is a whole new type of Kindred. He was genetically produced by the crazy domineering females on Yonnie 6. They were producing warriors for their specifications, mostly The best of many Kindred in one great package, luckily these “males” are rescued by the mothership and undergo major psychological therapy. Ty’ral is terrified that although he is reprogrammed he may still find a genetic predisposition to want to guard and please a woman. He decides to never take a mate for this reason.

Ellina and Ty’ral find a way to heal and bring strength to each other during their time together. They must not only find a way to protect her but also discover and stop the evil group that has been slowly taking over the planet for several years.
This is an exciting , very enjoyable read. It’s very original from the world building, new characters and species and page turning storyline. I highly recommend reading this awesome book (after Kindred Klaus).

I'm starting this off with that I am a huge fan of the brides of the kindred universe. (I got a tattoo and my two pets are named sylvan and Baird.)

I am getting a bit frustrated though.

The plot through the books are all set up very similar. Mission, oh no we are getting closer cause of the mission, miscommunication, tiny break up and then oh we do get together. It's getting repetitive.

I was excited that this book seemed to be different. Nope. Same rinse and repeat.

Sadly I am not a fan of the whole Mistress stuff getting brought up. It somehow always finds it's way in. I don't mind if the book is labeled as that, you do you...but if it's not I just don't want it in there...

Since book 20 or something the religious undertones also became way way too heavy. It feels low-key like religious propaganda of the: I know you strayed from god but come back. type of way.

I loved the concept of the mother of all life and I even liked that she once spoke to someone in a dire situation and helped them.

But it's every.single.book now. There is always a plot set up with oh idk what to do. And there she comes in helping and speaking to her children. It just doesn't feel special anymore. A Deity should only interact very rarely. If at all.

You can't tell me she tells her children who have been through intense trauma: oh I can't be everywhere. BUT THEN TALKS TO A GUY IN A CELL?? that already had a lil pet side kick who helped him out in the end??? SO HE DIDNT EVEN NEED THAT TALK??

it's just getting so so repetitive.

I want to have a big alien guy getting rough for once and not cry about his intense religious beliefs?? You can be rough with your spouse and not automatically be like: well that MUST mean I hate women.

No.

I hope that the plot does change up and I'm holding out hope. But I can't take the religious babbling in my ear anymore.

Guarding the Goddess

In the Author’s Notes at the beginning, you, the Reader, are advised to read Falling for Kindred Clause first. That one was the latest Tales of the Kindred, set at Christmas. I had read it and was curious why that reading order was recommended. Ms. Anderson’s books do not end with cliffhangers, and all of the Kindred Brides and Kindred Tales take place in the same Kindred universe. But the reason soon became clear. Lisa and Asher of the Kindred Clause tale also spend time on the same planet of Helios Beta and attend the Coronation of Y’res the Fourth as Potentate.

At her Coronation, Ellina, the Potentate, faces an assassination attempt. She asks the Kindred for protection and we are introduced to Commander Ty’rial (Ty), a member of the same Elite Espionage Corps as Asher.

Ty soon learns that Ellina is still the target of assassins. Also, because she grew up in the palace, the High Priest treats her as if she were a child and the rest of the nobility have no respect for her, calling her a freak and laughing at her. Trying to rule Helios Beta is a daunting task, and facing more assassination attempts with no help from those who should be protecting her seem to spell nothing but doom and failure. Can she trust the Kindred sent to guard and protect her? Or will her history cause nothing but disaster for both?

I enjoyed reading this Tale. I was easily pulled into the story because the characters seemed alive and not part of a novel. Hero and villain struggle on this alien world, just as they would if they were on Earth. This tale is a wonderful romance. Having read all of Ms. Anderson’s novels, I think Guarding the Goddess is one of her best!

Ellina, the newly crowned ruler of Helios Beta, is in serious trouble—someone wants her dead. After surviving one assassination attempt, she knows another is likely on the way. Desperate for protection, she turns to the Kindred for help. Enter Commander Ty’rial, a brooding Elite Espionage Corps warrior with a complicated past. Ty was genetically engineered for servitude as a Modified Kindred but forged his own path. Now, he’s tasked with protecting a ruler he’s determined not to trust—or fall for.

The plot thickens as political intrigue, deadly plots, and forbidden attraction intertwine. While Ellina struggles with her duties and fear, Ty slowly sees her as more than just a powerless Potentate. But their budding connection is shadowed by an impossible reality: Ellina must marry one of her own kind to produce a royal heir, and Ty, with his outsider status, is far from a viable candidate. Yet, when danger escalates and Ellina’s Heat Cycle is triggered, their self-control is tested.

The setting is richly imagined in the futuristic world of Helios Beta. The pacing is strong, with action and political intrigue keeping the pages turning. However, the romance, while steamy, doesn’t quite live up to the other books. The chemistry between Ellina and Ty is enjoyable, but their connection occasionally feels more obligatory than organic. I hope we get to see Tutti again.

Ellina had just become the newly crowned Potentate of Helios Beta when an assassination attempt was made on her life.
Until the culprit is found, it is decided that an off worlder - Kindred Commander Ty'rial will guard and protect the new queen until a new contingent of her own people can be properly trained.
Disrespect shown to Queen Ellina amongst the surrounding royals has them both on alert as they try to discover who is trying to cause her harm.
Another attempt on her life in public had Ellina and her guard Ty seen as heroes which anger the unscrupulous few who have other plans.
Can the danger be contained before their lives are irreparably destroyed?
Intriguing, romantic and searing chemistry, loved the intimate honesty as well!

Thank you is unsure of himself and is determined not to fall for a female. He’s unsure if it is the way he was raised, or if he will actually love someone so he doesn’t want to be stuck in a relationship that he’s not suppose to be in. Ellina has so much going on in her life, but the worst part is being forced to choose a consort from those who treated her horribly all her life. She’s different from others on her planet, but she’s still the Potentate. These two fall in love so easily, but the danger that’s around every corner is determined not to allow her any peace. Their fight to be with one another is intense and beautiful all at the same time.

Aw, this was such a wonderful book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and was engrossed from the beginning. I was unsure how this book was going to play out as Ellina was not from earth but it made no difference, their love shown through anyway. It was an amazing story and incredible to read a powerful woman in charge still able to have everything she wanted and still rule her country, albeit with some troubles along the way.
I have really loved this series and I still enjoy each book as much even though we are now 20 books in, they are still as enthralling as ever and I can’t wait for the next instalment when each book finishes.

Oh my Goddess, i love little Tisa, so fiesty and demanding! She is exaxtly what Ty needed in order to truly open up his heart for love🤗 I am so happy for Acher and Lisa too! Funny thou, aside for her 3rd eye and blue skin, she is pretty much the same as a human female😉 She is i think the 1st real looking alien woman. Even thou, the males had the Scourge, Jor'ken and Volt Kindred in this whole series ...hmmm.

I am catching up to the current book, in this series and then, like everyone else, i will be waiting to see who is next😬 Although, what ever happened to Naught, the twin kindred and the young Priestess, i was so sure he would be next but several books later and nothing...was he dropped or forgotten🤷‍♀️?

I like the characters in this book very much. I like the little dogs 🐕 lots. Iam missing not having a pet like a cat 🐈 or dog 🐕 around at night 🌃 the most, so this book 📚 has made me think about the the cat 🐈 or dog 🐕 more in life, it has helped me more to think about them. With Ty being very helpful and caring in his job remind me of career in looking after young and old people a like.😀 Chapter 32 made me think about my job looking after customers and staff in my job has check out assistant. Ty and Ellina believed in each other and they animals. I kept thinking about Ukraine lots of the people they prime minister while Ukraine's are in with Russia at this time. Didn't like Chapter 36 very much about Ty leaving Ellina at tall I felt sad. I enjoyed this book 📚 more towards the end of the book. I loved chapter 50 very much. In this book they was alot to understand and take on board. I would like to read more books like this one and different too.😀

I've read lots of Kindred tales.
I know there's going to be a hea.

However, I don't care for the story. There's not much more unattractive than a man who tries to weasel his way into royalty. I can't listen to 8 hours of rage inducing misconduct against an innocent only to hear 1 hour of resolution and spice.

I'm sure the main characters will slowly fall in love, finally admit their true feelings, then some contrite event will happen, they make it through, but have a misunderstanding, break up, then, the Goddess herself intervenes for the umpteenth time in the series and they decide they belong together.

This is just a guess, and it's one I'm not here for this time. Normally I really like these books but this is one I won't be investing in.

I'm so glad that we got to hear Ellina's story! We met Ellina a couple books ago. She was in the book briefly and we didn't see much of her. She came off at first, as a spoiled future ruler. However, that's just the facade. This is Ellina's book and her life as a ruler with people trying to assassinate her. She calls the Kindred to protect her and Ty is there as her personal bodyguard. Ty doesn't want to get too close but can be keep his distance as the danger gets closer?
I loved Ellina and Ty and was so glad they got a story! Great read!

The author has done it again and brought us another wonderful book.

I just love Ellina but my heart broke for her. Here she was young and had the weight of her kingdom on her shoulders. The to top that someone trying to kill her and worried about something more private. No one that young should be faced with that alone.

I just love Ty. Though he had this invisible wall up he was so loyal and willing to serve and protect. He would do anything to keep her safe.

I just loved the chemistry between these two and things will get really hot and steamy. It was truly a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

I was so happy that a story was written for Ellina, queen of Helios Beta. The young female was just perfect for on of the Kindred. She had faced so much death of her family and then to have someone trying to kill her. She needed a new guard to protect her and train her new guards. So who better that a Kindred male. Through to goddess, the Kindred all have a need to protect females. But this time a different kind of Kindred is needed. That is where Ty steps in. Like all of the Kindred stories you can expect plenty of danger and adventure. And when it comes to romance expect the unconditional love that only a Kindred male can give.

I enjoyed this latest kindred story by Ms. Anderson. The connection between Ty and Ellina was sweet and so strong and although there was a misunderstanding, it was resolved quickly. My favourite part of the story was the adorable and sometimes feisty chewchies, especially the imperious yet loveable Tisa! They add such great “texture” to the story. I also thought the name of the High Priest was a hoot! I am looking forward to the next kindred story.

Guarding th Goddess

Wow! Evangeline Anderson sure knows how to keep your attention with her imagination and writing skills. This is an amazing Kindred Tales story involving a Potentate called Ellina, and her Kindred bodyguard called Ty'rial. Ellina who is plagued by assassination attempts, poisoning, childhood and adulthood taunts, and loneliness is determined to hold her head up high and be the best leader of her people as her grandmother did before her. I was not able to put this book down! Loved it.

Great read!

Commander Ty'rial, The Goddess in the Flesh, Ellina (and the chewchies Lor and Tisa) were on a fantastical roller coaster of a ride trying to keep her safe.

It was obvious who the culprit was, and why, but with the way everything went, down it kept the story fresh and held my attention.

Their connection and attraction made sense too. Their upbringing molded them for each other perfectly. They were literally made for each other. Which made their coming together more sweet than raw, but no less passionate.

Embrace the different

Ty and Ellina were such a lovely couple! They had some great growing moments learning to accept the things that made them special and unique. And I totally want a chewchi now!
I'm really enjoying these companion stories within the series where one book introduces a new place and the second book also takes place there. As most of this series is meant to be standalone stories, it's a little change that keeps this series fresh and not like a monster-of-the-week kind of thing.

Another entertaining story in this series. Assassination is the key word in this story, someone is determined to kill the new ruler. Her bodyguard, a very different Kindred will put his life on the line for her. You will see they have sizzling chemistry despite her innocence and would make a great couple. But ruler and bodyguard, also he's not even from that planet would be a no no. Plenty of heart warming moments among all the action in this book. I loved it.

5 Star winner, well worth reading

A fabulous story to read. It's been awesome reading about this planet and the inhabitants as well as the Kindred put there by the Goddess. Lots of action and adventure throughout the book. And I love the little critters that are so much more.
This book is a well written self-contained story that's also part of a series.
I highly recommend this book to read.

Guarding the goddess is another great Kindred story. Ty will do whatever it takes to protect Ellina. However, he may lose his heart in the process. Will Ellina do her duty and be with someone else or will she change the rules and take a chance on a love that would last forever? This is another wonderful story and I would definitely recommend it.

The amazing and talented Evangeline Anderson has done it again. Another master piece. I am loving this series so much, especially as it continued from the last instalment. Ellina has been hidden away from society for her own safety. Ty'rial is a commander for the Kindred who has been tasked with keeping Ellina safe after an assassination attempt. Together they learn a few home truths and ofcourse find their true love while facing danger and turmoil too.
