Washington Irving was a passionate traveller who had a unique ability to capture the soul of the places he visited, with tremendous sensitivity. Fascinated by the magic of Andalusia, in Tales of the Alhambra he reinvents popular legends from the period when the Moors dominated a world of beautiful Moorish princesses, ambitious kings, wonderful gardens and hidden treasures. These enchanting tales awaken the imagination and take us back to times gone by.
The book was ok, because I thought the comment on page 27 was very disrespectful to people when I read it. I felt the same way when in the book all the prisoners were Christian. I’m Christian and some parts throughout the book made me feel uncomfortable. I loved the pictures in the background of the images in the book. It made me feel like I was at the Alhambra even though I was not. This was interesting book about the legend’s of the Alhambra in Spain.
